Upon my return will I be able to rent a car that was reserved. She told me, " You'll take whatever I give you." At this point I'm becoming agitated with this bad customer service. The owner, Sergei was patient with us, and worked hard to get us in a comfortable car. He also took the added step in going over gas mileage, and gave us a choice between two vehicles that were comfortable AND efficient-since we would be driving through mountains and hadn't considered this! The car was VERY clean, tires were good, and as he said, it had great mileage! The woman that was there the day we picked up was super friendly. She went over everything so there would be no surprises, which was appreciated! Great service by this team! Thank you for saving our spring vacation! What makes this especially frustrating is that I rented from Avis in San Diego just a month ago using the same debit card without any issues. The inconsistency between locations makes it difficult to know what to expect as a customer. If this policy varies by location, that should be made much clearer before people arrive to pick up their reservation. I understand businesses have policies, but consistency and clear communication are important. I rearranged my plans based on my reservation, only to be turned away at the counter. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope Avis does a better job of standardizing its policies across locations or, at the very least, clearly communicating any location-specific requirements before customers arrive.
