I reserved my car well in advance around the 17th June for a rental we needed for the day, because our primary car was in the shop. On the day-of, we showed up and the young man (nephew of owner) was pleasant, if a bit disorganized. We picked up the vehicle and completed our inspection. He did not walk out with us to help. I would have enjoyed accessing the interior. If so, we would have been spared the wreckage of the previous tenant on their family drive from Florida. It was clear nothing was cleaned. Dog hair, sand, a leftover water bottle, and glove compartment games. I could only note the scratches on the car with the small slip receipt given me. Once I provided this to him and obtained the key, we went outside to enter. That's when we found the wreckage. I immediately ran inside through the rain to tell him. At this point, the door was already locked for closing at 6. Oh and he had mentioned if we hadn't shown up before our arranged time, his computer would have shut down and he couldn't help us. Haha. Sure, buddy. At that time, I didn't have a choice and had to drop off our car so I took it with full intention to get a discount when we tallied up the negative marks. Drive was nice and car was tuned. Mileage did not agree with paperwork. FF to next afternoon. Had to split work shift to return on-time. Swapped car seats and after paying $220 to repair shop, prepared to pay this lazy rental shop. Drive over with spouse and child, let them continue to appointments. Oh yeah, I also filled up gas tank to full. I sat for 30 min waiting for female clerk to help a gentleman. Ultimately his ID failed a validity check -and she couldn't rent him a car? Wow. So I step up after multiple people are now waiting. I state succinctly I am dropping off my car but it was very messy from the start and I want a discount. I only expected perhaps the insurance and incidentals added. Instead of giving them to me, she calls up the owner and I can hear him complaining about my not having inspected the inside prior to release. How about your clerk simply vacuum and wipe down?? She writes my number and says manager will call. His name is Abdelaziz Daray. He still hasn't called five days later. NEVER do business with this business or this man. I plan to visit soon to have a serious chat and get most of my $160 back. At least my discount card offers $10 off the rental from The start. If I could give no stars I would.

Apparently, the one person working at that location stepped away to perform an oil change on the only car they had available. After 45 minutes he finally showed up and was unapologetic. There were many folks there with us, one woman was from Maryland and thanks to crappy service she was stranded in Columbus with no vehicle. The person offered no assistance other than telling everyone there to call customer service for a refund. No apologies. After trying customer service for the third time (we were on hold for 20 minutes each time and then hung up on) we were able to get a full refund at least. I think this is just a poorly run location but it will be awhile before we use Budget again.

The car was an upgrade from what I was expecting and clean, other than sort of smelling like cigarette smoke. Heather was very pleasant and got me through the paperwork quickly. A heads up: It is hard to reach this local office on the phone - the 614 phone number will likely redirect to the national call center.

Luckily another minivan had just come in. The vehicle we were given looked like it had just been returned from a family vacation, the middle seats were stowed away and there were crumbs EVERYWHERE. We didn't make a fuss, just swept off the crumbs, placed a cover on the back row for the dog, and we were on our way. Fast forward to our vehicle return 5 days later & we were told to either take the car to Moo-Moo for full vacuuming or pay $450 for cleaning the "pet hair". Goldendoodles don't shed. AND the only surface the dog was on was covered. So we either had to do the job they didn't do before renting us the vehicle OR pay $450. It's extortion and we will never rent from this company again.

The staff here has always gone out of their way to make sure we have what we need. I even requested a car with Texas plates one time, as I was driving to an event in Texas. I was sort of joking, but said if any came up during my rental period, I'd sure like to have one. They delivered! A Texas plate on the car. Well done. The last time I picked up a car, the previous renter had left the gas tank almost empty. They asked if I wanted them to fill it up or if I'd rather be able to return the vehicle with that low fuel amount upon my dropping the car off. After discussions amongst themselves, they decided the fill the tank for me, and profusely apologized for my wait time, which was only a few minutes. This location has always gone above and beyond for my family and me. We are now loyalty club members, and frequent renters. Keep up the good work! If Seinfeld had gone here, they would have known how to take and how to hold the reservation.
