I think I might just be spoiled by those car rentals in Disneyland area that have super nice customer service. We arrived exact 9 am on Sunday and an employee came to open the door after few minutes. He was busy working around without acknowledging people who were waiting in line. That's ok, I guess some Asian are not used to smile all the time. Got the car, no problem. We were given Ford Focus under compact category. It's a May or June 2015 car with only 17071 mileage. On returning day, it was Tuesday and we arrived exact at 8am. No one showed up until 20 minutes later. It was a very nice gentleman said the employee who were supposed to be here was probably sick so he was sent from other branch to operate. Check in was smooth since I have damage waiver all they need to is to check the fuel gauge. I also got an e-mail and text notification that the return was successfully accepted. DUE TO 20 MINS WAIT OUTSIDE THE DOOR MY FRIEND WAS LATE TO WORK!!!!! This seem to be the 1 person operation with one assistant (where's he on Tue???)in this location. I checked my credit card and no additional charge only the pre-paid amount that was agreed. p.s They do not offer off hour drop off, they actually parked a car to block the parking entrance so you can't get in. They charge like $11/gal for fuel that seem really high while other places charge you $1 more than market price for fuel. The car is clean but not like they detailed cleaned it. Nice guys! This place wasn't far from my house and I was very thankful that they were able to pick me up and drop me off to get/return the rental car. The process to get your car and return your car was fast, I had no issues. The only reason I docked a star is because the car they gave me was FILTHY. Looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks, but the guy blamed it on "fog from the beach," but really it looked like the car had been taken through cross country and just left sitting on their lot. The inside of the car smelled dirty and the seats were dirty. There was trash and stuff left over from whoever rented it before. They could have at least given me a complimentary upgrade to a different car like Enterprise would. I wouldn't mind renting from here again because it's cheap (comparable to airport car rental prices you'd find on priceline), but then again don't expect a clean car. read more

I usually rent from Avis for work and all about the rewards points. I have traveled throughout the country and have had great experiences with every location. Accommodating. Friendly. Helpful. I needed a car for work and recently moved to a little town. I was fortunate enough to find a location only half a mile from my new digs. This location is very low traffic. It was a Saturday morning at 10am. We were supported by Jesse who seemed to be the only team member on duty. He was friendly and in tune to my team member and my needs for speediness of our hard time out. Jesse laughed at a few of our jokes and was even empathetic to a situation I personally was experiencing. There were three more guests who arrived after us. Jesse seemed to be familiar with one of them and acknowledged all three when they walked in. My pet peeve is when there is a long line and the customer service team member does not acknowledge guests waiting. It truly does make the time go by and the wait pleasurable (bearable). This whole experience at Avis prompted me to write a glowing review and that's why I'm here (digitally). I believe people never praise the positive moments where people take the time to greet and fluidly make a guest feel welcomed. The only thing I would have liked is if the car didn't have detail writing on the windows. Those are all mechanics. But esthetically it draws attention to the car and that's something I don't generally prefer. read more

First of all I want to say ignore any reviews made a year ago or longer, this location is under new management and they are awesome! I rent from this location on a fairly regular basis and Jesse is a fantastic manager he always greets me with a warm and friendly hello and is fast and efficient in the process of my rental. Any car or SUV I've rented has always been thoroughly cleaned and washed. I can't say enough good things about Jesse and the staff here, just wonderful! (P.S. If you are late returning the car, you will be charged an extra day, and it states this in their info. I don't understand why people act so surprised or complain when they're charged, late is late, so adult up and deal with it, it's company policy, the employee's aren't to blame for the charges, they're just doing their job). read more

TLDR; basically stuck with unwanted extra fees and unsatisfactory customer service. Right off the bat I already had a bad experience when picking up the car. I'm a member of this program that gives you a code that waives the extra fee for being under 25. I've rented with Avis (different locations) before and never had a problem using the code, but when I came to this location, he asked me for a membership card. I told him I don't have one, and the company itself doesn't even give one. It's just an online thing and I could show him my account if he'd like. He called his manager to ask if that's okay but the manager said "no, we'll need the card". Literally stayed and talked to this guy for about 30 mins before we could solve the problem. I was about to cancel my reservation because with the underage fee, my rental would end up being double of what I thought it'd be. Anyways, we ended using my work's corporate code with the other code and I ended up just having to pay a few dollars more. The guy that was working (seems like there's only 1 guy there, because both times that I went I saw him) was okay besides that whole ordeal with the code. But when he was reading the fine print and legal stuff to me, he said it soo fast/under his breath, I could barely hear him and felt sketched out. As for the car itself, I got a Ford Focus. I hated the car (this isn't the reason why this got such a low review). It was also dirty when I got it. Fast forward to return day, I was driving back from Vegas and got stuck in traffic. I had to return it by 2pm, but I wouldn't be able to get there until about 2:15. Literally 15 MINUTES! So I called and the same guy picks up, I ask him if I can drop it off late and if there's a fee. He said I have to return it by 2 because they're closing. So I asked if there's a key drop box or something but he says no. I ask him what can I do because I'm basically being FORCED to keep the car an extra day if I can't return it. He says there's nothing I can do and that I'd have to return it the next day. So in the morning of the next day, I go to return it and lo and behold, NO ONE'S THERE. All doors are locked and there are no employees in sight. I call their phone number and the same guy answers. He says he's at a dealership near by and will be back in 10 mins. Hah! Now I have to wait 10 mins because I wasn't able to return my car yesterday? No thanks. I had my dad waiting for me and I also had to go to work so he said to just leave the keys in the mailbox. Basically what I couldve done the day before. But nope. So I got stuck paying 1 whole extra day for the car and was not satisfied with my rental whatsoever. There was no customer service provided at all. This place really needs to learn how to make their customers happy or they'll never have returning renters. This really reaaaally deterred me from ever wanting to rent from Avis again. Oh and I also had to pay extra for gas!!! So ridiculous. I pumped the gas right before I dropped it off. As I was pumping, the hose clicked off and indicated the tank was full. I didn't think twice that I'd have to check the gas gauge. I guess it was below the full line so I was charged extra, when it wasn't even my fault! I didn't wanna overfill it if it couldn't take anymore. I recommend if you HAVE to rent from Avis, at least go to another location. read more

This used to be a pretty good place to rent a car a while back. I enjoyed the service before and that's why I made reservations to come back. To my surprise the line was very long and the staff was really lacking in the customer service qualities I remembered. The old branch manager has changed. There's something I can't put my finger on as to why exactly I didn't like my experience. I arrived early to pick up my vehicle, but it wasn't ready yet. That's ok but I would think that they could at least tell me what vehicles were going to get delivered that day. Every time I called in they seemed to busy to be bothered by my questions. When I arrived there were people standing in line and sitting on the seats available. The wait was lonnnggg to get to the front desk! I just took my business to enterprise instead. Let me preface this by saying I rarely go online to complain about anything and I always take negative reviews of places with a grain of salt. I've been in customer service for years and know customers can twist stories and expect the impossible at times... This past weekend I rented an SUV from this location. During the inspection we noticed the car had been returned with an empty tank. This was noted on my inspection sheet. I was told by the associate that I would be refunded for the gas upon returning the car, possibly with a prepaid gas card. I figured, "no problem, I'll just keep my receipt when I fill up and bring it back when returning the car." (Side note: the vehicle also had low tire pressure indicators going off as soon as I started the car) Today I returned the vehicle with a over a half tank expecting some sort of reimbursement. I would've taken $10 off (anything really). The manager told me there was nothing they could do as the previous employee listed my car as having a full tank even though I had an inspection sheet stating otherwise. I was given a 1-800- number which was also incorrect as it was a reservations line. Instead of transferring me to the appropriate dept I was hung up on. After finding the appropriate number I was forwarded to the business line who explained there was nothing they could do for me and even apologized for having to deal with the manager. Instead of offering me any kind of refund or coupon they adivised that I shouldn't have even taken the car to begin with. So me being a nice guy about it ultimately cost me. As someone who constantly travels out of state for gigs and uses Avis exclusively, this is unacceptable and I will be sure to avoid Avis at all costs. read more

The staff here is really nice and friendly. The only distaste I had was that the underage charge for being under 25. The charge for being underage is 27 dollars a day. Other than that, I had great service when I rented and returned the car. I think it's faster if you reserve the car online. When I came in to rent it, even though I reserved it by calling a week before, it was a bit slow due to the worker having to type in all my information. The prices are pretty good if you are a driver over 25 years old though. The car I got was a Toyota Yaris. I recommend checking the car for any dents and scratches along with the worker. You don't want to be charged for a scratch on the car that was there before you rented it when you return it. The car was pretty clean, and drove smoothly throughout the whole three days I rented it. There's unlimited mileage as well. The Avis at this location is pretty nice. I just hope they keep it up, because most of the other Avis locations have either mediocre or bad reviews. Needed a last minute rental and tried this place for first and last time. The car was dirty when given to me and that didn't bother me until they charged me $50 extra to clean the car that was already filthy. I returned the car with the exact same amount of gas and then I was notified I would be charged $20 for gas so I drove back to Avis and filled up the tank that was given to me 3/4 full. I called and spoke with Mohamed and he promised I would be refunded. Three weeks has gone by and still no refund, so I called him and he just told me to call customer service. I have read other reviews with similar stories so I will never rent from Avis again and especially this location. read more

Recently rented a car for Vegas trip. It was hassle free trip when one of our tire pressure light came on, we had nail stuck in one of the rear tire. So we called this 1(800) #, and they directed us to take it to Avis in our area...So we took it to a location in downtown Vegas, they were able to change our car with no problems. They even apologized to us for not having similar full size sedan but we were thankful they were able to switch out our car during the holiday weekend. We ended up with a much roomier small suv... im glad everything was hassle free and we were able to enjoy our vacation still. And thankfully, Avis has many locations and the ones in Vegas were opened weekends =) read more

DIRTY cars and HORRIBLE service for an AVIS location. I was a consultant for 4 yrs and use to travel every week... So this is coming from a person who use to rent a car EVERY week. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for intermediate SUV... Came to pick up the car and all we were given as an option was RAV 4, although they had 2 other better intermediate SUV standing outside. I was till wiling to take the car but when I open the car there was white sandy powder in the trunk and in all of back seat. When we asked if they will be cleaning the car... The rep replied they cleaned it and it "just" some white powder which they can't clean. I told the guy I've a really young baby (7 weeks old) I'll be traveling with so I can't take a dirty car... But he didn't bother. He said he can't give me another cry because someone else has "looked at it"... Really dude, I've a reservation and I'm standing right infront of you!!!! I don't like commenting on such small things but this was just irritating. It didn't bother me that it took like an hour just to the paper work ready so I can get my car. What really got to me was.. When I went to refill the gas tank, the gas pump was over flowing the car. So I figured it was full so I decided to head to return the car, but realized that on the gas gauge that it was short like a gallon. I went and told the guy that helped me out that it was overflowing so I didn't know that it was full or not and that it was short 1 gallon. Rather than just go ahead and waiving their gas fee he told me to go refill and come back. 1 gallon!!! are you kidding, I've been renting cars all over the country and they usually just waive it. since it's their car thats overtopping the pump...
