I had a great experience with Jay at Karland Motors in Garden Grove, CA. Prior to checking the car out, he was very good with communication through texts. When I visited the dealership and checked out the 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, I requested to take the car to my 3rd-party mechanic to get a second opinion and Jay had no issues whatsoever letting me test drive the car and drive it over to the mechanic by myself. I got the thumbs-up from my guy and he said everything looked great under the hood and I drove back to Karland Motors and we started talking numbers, Jay was very transparent during the process and called multiple credit unions trying to get me the best interest rate and lowest monthly payment...Since he knew this was my first car-buying experience he made sure I was explained everything thoroughly and gave me good advice along the way. Karland Motors doesn't tack on ANY unnecessary fees (besides the obvious sales tax, registration fee w/ DMV, $85 document fee, $29 title transfer, $60 emissions test). They don't push any hidden dealer warranty's, "mandatory" anti-theft device charges, market adjustment fees, prep fees, no B.S.....When I returned the next morning to pick up my car, it was washed, had a full tank of gas, oil changed and smogged! read more

Only person I trust buying a used car from is Jay So! So far my family has bought 4 cars from Jay over the last almost 15 years and they've all been great and reliable. I live much further away now and I made the mistake of going to another seller else a few weeks ago, car was a complete lemon and took a shit on us on the freeway 15 minutes after leaving the sellers house. Towed the car right back and luckily I was able to get my money back with the help of my big buff step dad. A few days later I made the drive to garden grove and RAN with my money over to Jay and boy am I so glad that I did. I left the dealership with a gorgeous, very safe car for my newborn. They were asking $9000 for an '06 Honda Odyssey online. This is roughly the dealer market value for this year, make and model - but I don't know anyone in their right mind who doesn't negotiate with a dealer for a better price. So I decided to send an email asking for a cash price deal.... The attitude I got in response to my email was RUDE. Jay told me, "Don't bother will be selling to somebody else for 8999" I certainly won't bother with them now! Perhaps they kiss your @$$ when you show up in person - but if this is the level of "customer service" you receive from a very simple email exchange then I definitely wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this absurd guy. UPDATE: Following is yet another response from Jay via email: "I don't know how it works in your country but in United States of America we reserve the rights to refuse any business when the client is giving us and ridiculous offer" Yes folks, this is what their exceptional customer service looks like. Take Jay's own recommendation and don't bother! For the record (in response to Jay's comment below)- Kelly Blue Book is NOT the only factor for determining a vehicle's market value. KBB and FAIR MARKET VALUE are not always the same. Sometimes the KBB is lower than market value and sometimes KBB is higher than market value. The FAIR MARKET VALUE (for a dealer) for this particular vehicle (based on the mileage and features) is approximately $9200. I have thoroughly done my research on these vehicles and their market values - so your claim that a 9 year old van is worth almost $14000 is hilarious. Out of all the dealerships I went to, this was by far the best experience I had buying a car. Cars in the lot look like they been cared for with fresh fluids/oil. I bought a nice, used car last week at this dealership. I believe I got a really good deal on the vehicle. I dealt with Jay who was great. I immediately had a good feeling about him, and he was definitely not a pushy sales person. After test driving the car, I had another appointment to view a used car. En route to that next appointment, I got to thinking more and more about the great 2001 Mitsubishi Galant that Jay had showed me. After attempting to view the following car, I texted Jay and told him I was coming back. When I got back, Jay and I agreed on a price that was fair with all it included, tax and all the paperwork dealing with the DMV, the dealership takes care of that. IT was a great experience, and I would recommend Grand Motors Inc. I was in and out quickly. Now...why four stars? The next morning, I got into the car, tried to start it and nothing! Just a click. I called AAA and they sent someone out. The long and the short of it, the car had a bad starter. The tow truck driver got the car started and I took it to my mechanic and he replaced the starter. $200 later, the car starts and drives fine. I cannot say whether Jay knew about the bad starter or not. It could have just been my bad luck. Like I said, I had a good feeling about Jay, and I am going to assume that he did not know about the bad starter and it was just dumb luck. I am hope I am not being naive in my assumption. read more

I could not be happier with the car I bought, service I was given, and ease of the whole process. At Grand Motors, the cars are advertised at already reasonable prices. One thing I found, while dealing with slimy car salesmen elsewhere, is that the cars are priced and the negotiation process takes FOREVER. I negotiated a little but the car was already such a steal I barely even have to! Since Grand Motors is an independent dealership, they did not offer a warranty on the vehicle I ultimately purchased. Because of this, I asked if I could take the car to my mechanic to have them run through it before purchasing and Jay welcomed the idea. Jay, and his staff, were friendly AND in no way pushy. Got a good deal for a car that was a bit harder to find since I was looking for a specific year and model. Jay was very professional and made a number of repairs and tune-ups on the car before I picked it up. I visited Grand Motors to take a look at a used Lexus, maybe ES 330, because I lost my 2000 LS400 in an accident. Unfortunately, they didn't have a car I had in mind. The salesperson, Mr. Yi, offered me a few alternatives I might consider. What interested me was a new ES350, which I thought I could not afford. I didn't even know they were selling new cars. Mr. Yi explained why buying that car was a great deal. It was a high option model with a spoiler and the price was more than $3,000 below the MSRP. The interest rate was excellent. As a bonus, Mr. Yi put window shade film on my car on his own expense. Now I know I can buy a new car on a better deal at Grand Motors. read more

I bought a 2010 Hyundai Genesis from Grand Motors in December '12, and had an excellent experience with them. Jay, their Internet Sales Manager, advertised the car at a very competitive price, and I took it for a test drive, and loved the car. Jay was exceptionally friendly, direct and honest, and a pleasure to deal with. There were a few signs of wear, scratches on the bumpers and a minor dent I wanted repaired prior to taking the car; on a handshake (and a small deposit) Jay committed to have the work done - in two days. When I returned, the car was beautifully repaired, all the minor stuff was done, and they detailed the car for me perfectly! My review is overdue, but since my family and I have purchased two cars from Grand Motors through Jay So, I have been recommending him to anyone shopping for a car. After looking at a few annoying dealers for a Honda CR-V, Grand Motors was a breath of fresh air! We met Jay So, who was very professional and straight-forward. He showed me the Honda right away, provided a CarFax and gave me the price of the car, which matched the price I saw online. Jay has wonderful customer service skills, and is not your typical "slippery" car salesman, which was greatly appreciated after a long week of car shopping. Less than an hour after looking at the Honda CR-V I was driving away with my car, and it's been a great car since that day. Fast forward to a year later. I went back with my mom who was shopping for a Honda Element, and without even knowing what Grand Motors had on the lot, we stopped in on a Saturday. One of the worse car rental experiences of my life. My uncle and his friends came to California on a business trip and rented a car for two days. They drove the car around and everything was good. On the day that they were supposed to turn in the car, they brought it with no problems and payed with a card. However, I looked back into the money transaction and they had charged them for three days of rental instead of two. So I called the place asking for a refund. You would expect them to apologize and quickly refund the money but they just continued to lie and say that no such thing happened, even though I had all the money transactions right in front of me. I had to consistently argue back and they wouldn't give me a refund even when I showed them the money transaction. At one point the worker argued that he was older than me, which made no sense at all. After about an hour he gave the phone to another worker, where the whole process repeated again. Eventually, I got the refund but it was one of my worst experiences with customer service. They have no respect for their customers. It was a complete waste of time and no one should need to go through this. Save your time and money, don't come here. read more
