I rented a car from Sixt at the MSP location from July 23-27. The car was decent, the pricing was…read morereasonable, and the check-in and pickup process was fast and efficient. Unfortunately, I had a major problem after returning the vehicle. On July 28, I received an invoice from Sixt for $614.25 for damage to the front passenger-side aluminum rim, described as a scratch. I am absolutely certain this damage did not occur while I had the vehicle. Unfortunately, I did not think to take pictures of all four wheels when I picked up the car. When I contacted Sixt to dispute the charge, I was told that Sixt was not required to provide proof that the wheel was in perfect condition when I received the vehicle and that documenting the condition of the car was my responsibility. As a result, they refused to remove the charge. This is extremely frustrating. I have rented cars from many companies over the years, but I have never experienced a situation where I was charged hundreds of dollars for damage that I am confident was already present--and then told that the burden was entirely on me to prove otherwise. My strong recommendation: use extreme caution if renting from Sixt. If you do rent from them, I strongly recommend taking a video of the entire vehicle before leaving the lot, along with individual photos of all four wheels/rims and every part of the exterior and interior. Do not assume that any existing damage will be properly documented by Sixt. The initial rental experience was fine, but the way this damage claim was handled has completely changed my opinion of the company. I will not be using Sixt again.

I made the reservation weeks ago and selected "Manager's Selection" before I knew it would be snowing when I arrived in April. Upon arrival, they insisted on trying to upcharge me $60+ for an AWD vehicle even though their own website and others were suggesting SUV rentals would be less expensive than what I was originally charged. Most rental car companies would insist on upgrading me after selecting "Manager's Selection" when snow was newly on the forecast and AWD vehicles were on hand. The manager proceeded to argue with me by saying that I could book online but I'd have to wait hours for my new reservation to come through their system! She also consistently lied to me saying that the price online was actually more expensive than what I paid. I eventually booked online elsewhere and saved $100 but had to shuttle back to the airport. Will never rent here again.

And yes, I would do that again…read more The counter is somewhat hidden from the other car rentals but follow the signs and it's not hard to find. Once you get checked in then you get on a shuttle bus and go to the other side of the airport. (Same exit as Mall of America but north) Once there they bring you your car. Ours was a new Subaru Forester. (This was slow, it took at least 30 min.) Returning the car was easy & fast. And the total bill was more than $100 cheaper than the big car rentals. I'd recommend it!

When I returned the car, they charged an extra dollar and $.30 I think for the gas difference as they had given me an estimate of what it would be and I elected to pay an extra fee for them to gas it up for me. No harm no foul right they already told me upfront so I told them go ahead and charge The additional dollar and $.30 but here's where things went downhill. The initial pending charge of $279 is still pending from my bank. Once I returned the vehicle and they charged me an extra $1.30 so they pulled $280.30 from my bank account but here the thing: the initial $279 is still pending. It has been a week and a half since I have returned the vehicle and they told me I will not get it back until 10 full business days from the date that I returned the vehicle. So they will be able to hold my initial charge $279 for a total of 17 days. I cannot access my own money in my bank account and my bank cannot cancel the charge since it's not an actual charge and still just sitting there pending. So basically they are withholding my money from me and I cannot do anything about it and neither can my bank. The people at Enterprise were perfectly friendly and the car drove perfectly well but the company policy of holding the initial fee for up to 10 business days is for what exactly?? Terrible policy. I recommend you try a different company that doesn't do this to their customers.

He was absolutely fantastic and personable. He even provided me with a cell in case I was running behind Saturday on my return. I waited about 15 minutes that night through the line. I was supposed to have a Chevy Malibu and was upgraded (complimentary) to a Mazda CX-50. Car had 23,000 miles and was in decent shape. I put almost 500 miles on that car over the 23 hours. No issues with the car. Car return was a breeze. Fast/efficient. I wish all car rental experiences were like this.

After the necessary paperwork was done at the counter, I headed up the escalator to get my car. Once in the garage, there was one line for Enterprise and another for Alamo. Unfortunately, there was only one employee there helping people get their vehicles. At first, he was only helping those in the Enterprise line until we went over and asked. I was able to get a new Hyundai Sonata hybrid. It ran perfectly fine for my trip up to Duluth. As for returning the vehicle, we were given an address to use for navigation to get to the proper return ramp for terminal 1.

As usual, I did some research amongst both rental car locations and the TURO app in the area. Ultimately, I decided to rent a car from this airport (terminal 1) Enterprise location. I was pleased with the service provided both at the counter and with the staff upstairs who helped guide me to the car options at the time. First of all, there was no line when I came to retrieve the car, which was such a blessing and the process went pretty quickly too. Then, one of my favorite cars was an option for me - a GMC Acadia. I used to drive one and was happy to select this car for my trip. It worked out great! There wasn't a ton of pressure when I turned down extra insurance and also said I'd fill the tank on my own before returning the vehicle. Returning the car was fast and easy as well. I will absolutely rent a car from this Enterprise location again in the future if the need arises.

But now they do a credit check and if you don't pass their criteria you can't even put down a deposit or use a credit card to rent from them at all. I refuse to get sucked in to paying 29% or more interest on stuff i can easily pay for with my debit card or cash. But if I would've presented a credit card first this all could've been avoided which is total bullshit. I'm sure Dollar and Thrifty will be happy to get my business.

At pick up, they offered us a midsize for our experience. However, months ago our reservation was for a midsize, so we paid for midsize and got economy. the whole mess cost us time with family. On 7/6 we talked for an hour with the car company to file a complaint. We called multiple times to find out shuttle times. No response the economy car messed our drop off plan. We had to change all of our plans and find additional transportation because of the size. my sister in law and toddler had to sit at airport for 5 hours because of the horrible car rental. theres no communication at drop off of times or shuttles.
