Unfortunately, for this business, I have to give it a very low rating. I rented a vehicle for three days and picked it up from the Minneapolis Minnesota airport. They told me what my initial charge was, and they held that as a pending charge in my bank account as I used my debit card. When I returned the car, they charged an extra dollar and $.30 I think for the gas difference as they had given me an estimate of what it would be and I elected to pay an extra fee for them to gas it up for me. No harm no foul right they already told me upfront so I told them go ahead and charge The additional dollar and $.30 but here's where things went downhill. The initial pending charge of $279 is still pending from my bank. Once I returned the vehicle and they charged me an extra $1.30 so they pulled $280.30 from my bank account but here the thing: the initial $279 is still pending. It has been a week and a half since I have returned the vehicle and they told me I will not get it back until 10 full business days from the date that I returned the vehicle. So they will be able to hold my initial charge $279 for a total of 17 days. I cannot access my own money in my bank account and my bank cannot cancel the charge since it's not an actual charge and still just sitting there pending. So basically they are withholding my money from me and I cannot do anything about it and neither can my bank. The people at Enterprise were perfectly friendly and the car drove perfectly well but the company policy of holding the initial fee for up to 10 business days is for what exactly?? Terrible policy. I recommend you try a different company that doesn't do this to their customers. read more

I had an accident and the insurance referred me to Enterprise in St. Louis Park MN. I had visited the location thinking I could setup renting a car. Their comments were that they were 1 to 2 weeks out on rentals - though the website does not state that nor the customer service when you call. They sent an email to me with a confirmation that day for a reservation a week out. Now I called this morning to confirm my reservation for tomorrow and was told that I couldn't get a car for three more days despite the reservation they had sent. Very poor and rude customer service. Have to use them because of insurance but then will not again. Do not rent from them. read more

I have used Enterprise Rent a cars since 2008. Since 2022, after a violent assault and burglary in my home, I became part of the Safe at Home address confidentiality program. The prior manager at the Edina location was familiar and always very kind about the need for no digital footprint, hence why I mainly used my debit card. I have rented at Wayzata, Eden Prairie, Burnsville, not once had damage assessed in 17 years of rentals. The most recent change in management, Louis was very accommodating. He even had a Brooklyn Park employee meet me at my workplace when the phone was trapped in the floor board, as it had fallen when I was driving. 2 separate occasions, despite loving the cars I had rented, assured no one could get into them, I had photographs of my office work keys left on the front seat of my car, and the only place I'd been since picking up the car was a restaurant for 45 minutes. The assistant manager businesscard Tommy showed up not once, but twice, in places I hadn't had it. These aren't the things most bothersome because I document everything bc I was a stalking victims. I even laughed when they joked I was part of the "Witness Protection Program" I explained to them 5,000 people are part of address confidentiality in MN. Most, unlike me, are fleeing from domestic abuse, often with children. I was informed when I returned the car "we don't know if the safe at home program made this policy or if it came from our corporate, but anyone with safe at home as their address now has to use a credit card." Our credit card addresses have the same legal address as our bank statements and anything else. When we are encouraged for safety to keep switching cars, it comes off as punishing a victim. They're the ones losing $1000 a month. If not more, but to smile at your face and try to blame safe at home, run by Secretary of State and then to see they secured a contract with my employer, they didn't have since previously, is predatory. Secretary of State has better things to do with their time than find out rates or policies for hotels and car rental companies. read more

I ordered a wheelchair accessible vehicle with hand controls from enterprise. I pay the price of the SUV as other fully able people do. It's a shame that they only put hand controls on the worst cars on the lot. While new models of Suv's have automatic trunks that have push buttons to open and close. We are subject to suvs that we have no way of closeting on our own due to the height. But yet we pay the same price as someone who gets a cord explorer. Enterprise only has cars with left hand controls. Which I expressed to management makes no logical since. A large portion of people drive with their right hand as do able body driver drive with their right feet. His response was that it was not true. Because a lot of people drive with their left foot. What ? So I came all the way to Minnesota and rented a car I could not drive because it was left handed. They had no intention of fixing it to make it accessible either. read more

Checked online for prices, went to the store without booking and turns out its 2-3 times the online prices and had to add all the insurance - ie cant deny the optional ones. She said booking online would still give us the same price. Came back home. Turns out we can book online for the same price we had seen earlier. Make a booking and ring them to confirm - turns out their website takes bookings even when there is no availability!!! And she says to me that they dont want to dishonor other people's bookings. Well, I made a booking too - why are you happy to dishonor mine and not theirs? More to the point - why is the website happily taking more bookings despite there being no availability? read more

Rented a vehicle in February from Enterprise, $86 including insurance. Rented again 5 months later, only for the price going up $50 to around $136 including for the same type vehicle. After asking 4 of their employees why they raised their prices, they admitted the prices are ridiculous and the reason for the increase, they are running out of vehicles and need to buy more. I rented a car from Enterprise for 1 week. When I picked it up, it smelled alittle odd, but within the next day, the smell of smoke was horrible. I am very sensitive to smoke and ended up with respiratory problems all week, needing to drive with the air on high and the windows open. We all have to sign an agreement to not smoke, drink, etc in the car. I got rid of the car as soon as I could. As my compensation, they initially offered me $5.00 off. After supposedly talking to a manager, the employee offered me $48.00 off my over $500.00 bill. This after a long speech about how Enterprise is all about Customer Service. I would beg to differ. I am so upset with Enterprise! I really had high hope for this so call family own business. I live in Chicago (Go Bears) and I was visiting my kids for the holidays. I found a great deal online! Economy car for one week for $144.00!!! I call Enterprise in Minnesota to let them know I will be coming from Chicago off the Meagbus. I reserve a car for 6:00 pm. I will be 7 minutes away from there location. I don't know the guy name who answer the phone. He said, Sir we are close at 6:00 pm. If you not in the store by then. You have to wait tomorrow. OK, I said. Great news, The Megabus was early(15 minutes ) I took a taxi to Enterprise. They found my reservation. At 6:00 pm a couple walk in. AT 6:00 pm..... No big deal, I am here to see my family! The couple ask do they have any Economy car available. The other guy, said sorry we only have 2 cars left and there are Full-size SUV. Thinking to myself, I get an upgrade (Free). The guy helping me. I told him I would like an upgrade. Sure he said! It will cost me $294.60. Thinking to myself, Wow!!!! The time now is 6:30 pm. The other guy who help the other couple show me my Full-size SUV and went over the paperwork about the car. I told him I don't want it. I want the Economy car what I reserve for. He told me we (Enterprise) are out but I can come back tomorrow and check if we have any Economy car. read more

I've been renting cars from Enterprise for a number of years for both business and personal trips. Their staff at their downtown Minneapolis location (10th Street) just couldn't be friendlier or more professional! It's not just for me either, or because I'm a regular, I've been at the counter when they have been servicing other customers as well and they treat us all with respect and humor. They always seem to be so interested in us and where we're going, etc. I have a trip coming up to Poughkeepsie, NY and when I tried to make arrangements online, I was having some difficulty, so I just walked down to my local Enterprise office and they, again, took great care of me and my needs! Worst experience EVER!!! Went to pick up car & was told they didn't have a single car for me to rent even though I had a reservation & confirmation number. Was told I should have given them over 24 hour notice, really, my fault?? What company accepts a reservation knowing far well they don't have anything to rent?? This Enterprise location does, shady is an understatement. Walked two blocks to Budget, had a great last minute experience, literally & they even upgraded me to a nice SUV for $4!! Got a 2 day Jeep rental, brand new 2018, I love trying out the latest vehicles! This one had everything; thank goodness it had individual tire pressure sensors, on a drive to Rochester, I had to fill up the left rear 4 times. I just didn't have time to call for a tire change or repair, as I had a schedule to visit my sister in Rochester. But, lowest ever was 19psi at end of visit, went directly to a Holiday Gas for free air. No problem. Good price; when I mentioned the tire problems, the staff in Mpls wanted to know what I would need "to make it right". I said, reduce the price to $10/day over my original rental, they did better, $7/ day over a RWD little economy car. Very happy! read more

I've gone to a few rental car services before but never any particularly notable until this one. The two gentlemen that helped me out were great at explaining to me how it would work running it through my insurance, as my car was in the shop. One went out to the car with me and was very keen on making sure he knew every scratch on there so I wouldn't have to pay for any damage I didn't cause. He cracked the right jokes to get me laughing in what's typically an aggravating situation, and for that I can really appreciate the service. read more

Hugh has been a delight to work with, along with Nick and Andrew. They give me great cars at great rates on a regular basis, and are always accommodating when I need to extend the rental time. Literally unbelievable how crappy all enterprise employees are. Called in about a reservation which they were suppose to call me according to StateFarm. Called to be picked up from my location as my car is not drivable and had to be towed from an accident. Rocky answers and extreme douchy and unhelpful. Says sorry we don't pick up and we don't even have a reservation.? I said I didn't give you a name he said a name that wasn't mine even after I say that's NOT MY NAME he finally has enough brain to ask my last name, then is like oh well yeah it's a 200$ deposit.. okkkkk so you can help me or not . He says I didn't say I couldn't help we just don't pick up YES THEY DO I know for a fact they do he was a complete unhelpful asshole. So now I have to call my insurance to get a different company assigned to pick me up from location. DONT bother with this company definitely not this location. I am a frequent business renter at this location and always have a very positive experience. The agents are always upbeat and attentive. They are easy to work with in spite of my ever changing need to extend my rental time or pick up a vehicle without a reservation. The vehicles are always clean and ready on time. Great rates and the customer pick up and drop drop service makes renting a vehicle a breeze. Rented for a eight days. Service was terrific. Had a little issue with the car...very minor. Rectified and given discount although I hadn't asked for one and certainly didn't expect it. They know how to keep their customers happy and coming back. Kind, helpful, courteous, and professional. I made our reservation for pick up at the downtown Enterprise location for a Saturday morning at 10. We arrived early at 9 and were told we were early, and that they did not have a car for us, and may or may not have one by our reservation at 10. We were told we should try and find other arrangements, or go get breakfast and they would call us if they could get the car. Frustrated, we left and had to pay much more for an available car at another rental agency. Most frustrating was that we never received a call from Enterprise, to let us know anything about our reservation. I'm glad we didn't wait for them to call. I'll never book with Enterprise again as a reservation apparently means nothing, and they were completely unapologetic or helpful in the situation. read more

Worst service I have ever received in my young life. I called twice to confirm that my insurance company made the reservation for my one way vehicle and that something would be available. I was assured I would have a one way car by 2:30 that afternoon. After taking over 20 minutes to help me with only one person in front of me, they informed me they had no vehicle for me. They had to drive me to another location to get another car. This whole process took well over an hour. I was driving alone in a city I did not know. I missed an appointment that afternoon because this took so much longer than necessary. I then found that the car from other location had illegal drugs in the glove box as well as the previous renters mail. My mom called the manager, Hugh, yesterday when I was unable to. He said he would call me that afternoon but never did. When I called this morning he said I must have changed my phone number that night. He advised me to throw away this persons hospital bills, insurance bills and other important documents. His whole attitude on the matter was that it did not come from his branch and it was not really his problem. He said "well, we waved the gas fee so you could bring it back empty." There were 4 gallons of gas in the tank. The 12 dollars they "saved" me was supposed to make up for putting me at risk of illegal substance charges. The smell was so strong it permeated outside the vehicle. His apologies were the most insincere things I have ever heard. He agreed to call and set me up for a switch at the closest branch to where I had traveled. After calling the new location two hours later there was no reservation. No call from Hugh. I have taught three year-olds that exhibit better manners and responsibility than Hugh. Be vary wary of these guys. Do not book a reservation unless you have ample time available. Confirm everything. Inspect the car inside and out. Don't forget anything in the vehicle. After calling corporate I received a call from the district manager. Their district manager was extremely sincere and helpful but that is the only positive thing I have to say about this whole ordeal. They need to be under new management before I would ever consider renting with them again. Avoid at all costs. read more

These folks do an OK job. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful (one sales person helped me get my bike in the trunk when I was fully prepared to do that myself). However, another time, I specifically asked for cruise control and they didn't have any cars with cruise when I got there. This last time, the low tire pressure indicator was on and I had to go fill tires before starting my trip. (Passenger rear was down around 25 psi). I called to tell them they need to check things better that I was on my way to fill tires. The youngster that answered the phone said "Oh, it's save to drive on". REALLY? I was going to be driving to Madison and back. Not safe. NOT. It really annoyed me because of course I was in a rush and recent other rentals from other Enterprise locations also had low pressure indicator on requiring me to stop and filll tires. There's something broken in their intake/checkout process. Anyway, I will use them again because they are the most convenient. They may not have cruise even though I ask for it, but at least they have cars (unlike other locations I've tried to use). And they are prompt getting you in and out of there.
