Watch out!!! Avis Car Rental at Redmond Municipal Airport cannot be trusted. They promised to keep my luggage until I return. However, they lied about my luggage sent to Portland airport. After I found out the truth, they admitted the lie. I have been thinking about the situation for a few more times. Why they promised to keep the luggage, but lied to me send my suitcase to Portland airport? Why don't they admit to throw my luggage the first place? Therefore, I highly suspicious they might stole my Luggage because the combination code is pretty easy. They're thieves! Their employee and manager probably figured it out and sold my medical equipment, my clothes and my suitcase. They're not only liars, but also they might be thieves as well. Huge shout out to Ethan and Martin these guys go above and beyond! I've rented with them over 110 days this year (2020, Feb-Dec) I can honestly say they go all out, these guys are extremely reliable, friendly, helpful, generous/accommodating and just all around good people. The cars are always clean on the inside and out. I've rented a Dodge Ram Rebel & Challenger, Ford Mustang & Edge, Chevy Camaro, Toyota 4Runner, & Rave4, a Jeep and more. All are in top condition. I can't express enough how much I appreciate these guys and my time up in Oregon. Treat them with the respect they deserve, you're in great hands. I recently missed my flight to RDM and had to go to the EUG airport instead then drive over to RDM so I called to update them on my situation and right then and there with no questions asked they booked me a car at the EUG airport at the most cost effective rate. Slowest customer service in the world. Seriously, you would think that slugs run their operations. I *used* to use this Avis for business travel and all my reservations went through Egencia. This review reflects my experience with Avis rentals from this location as opposed to the people at the counter who deserve their credit. Anyway, my insurance is company business travel insurance. When I damaged one of the rental cars, I made it very clear on the damage report that this was to be directed to my employer's business travel insurance. This was a given considering that's what my reservation states from the get-go. Then, Avis messed up. They charged me for the damage instead of charging my travel insurance company and my company's legal rep has had to contact Avis herself on multiple occasions to get this sorted out. It's been a month! Apparently, they have a history of doing this wrong. I'm supposed to get a refund but nope, still nothing. Headache! Because of this ordeal, I have switched rental companies since I don't want to deal with this crap. Avis should have taken care of my situation correctly the first time, and they shouldn't be taking this long to resolve their own mistake. Also, when my coworker got a flat tire, a guy from Avis charged him $88 to replace it but did not give him a receipt of any kind nor did they include it on his rental receipt. They have no record whatsoever of this flat tire replacement so my coworker was left with an expense he couldn't justify for work. How unprofessional and frustrating is that. Then, my other coworker ended up driving 145 miles from Redmond to Portland because he thought he would miss the second leg of his flight since the first leg was getting delayed. Customer service was super poor yet again and ended up charging him a ridiculous amount per mile. All three of us have switched from Avis to National. Avis needs to get its act together. read more

I've been renting a car continuously with Avis since my car died in April of 2018. I had been renting in McAllen, TX and developed a great working relationship with the clerk there. I understand now, why this location has a 1 star rating. I was relaxing in my hotel on Sunday night getting ready for my VERY stressful upcoming week, when my cellphone rang. I don't know anyone in Redmond, OR but I picked up the phone and was immediately and forcefully verbally assaulted by the agent from the Avis counter who accused me of STEALING a Ford Focus. I had contacted my agent on Saturday to extend my rental and change the corporate discount code. She continued to scream at me that this was for a rental at the Redmond, OR location NOT McAllen, TX, like I didn't know that and she wouldn't SHUT UP long enough for me to explain. When she finally shut her hillbilly mouth, she saw where the discount code was changed on Saturday and the extension was processed. If there were other options in this PISS ANT TOWN, I'd tell this company to f*** off but I am stuck with them for now. read more

Let me first say, my initial experience with AVIS (picking up my car) was great. However, when I returned my car it was early in the morning and no one was working. I dropped my keys off in the drop box and left. I later called to make sure they got the keys and everything was good, I was assured it was. Then, I start getting emails that my car was not in their inventory and they charged my card close to $1000.00!!!! I called to get this problem resolved and AMY answered the phone. First off she was very rude and degrading, she raised her voice at me when I tried explaining she had me confused with another customer because she kept blaming me for the charges saying I left the keys in the rental which I did not. She the proceeded to hang up on me several times!!!! I called and asked to speak with the manager, she told me I needed to shut my mouth and let her talk, I said we were far past that and I just wanted to speak to the manager. She refused to let me speak with a manager, and then hung up on me yet again! I would like to make clear at no time did I ever raise my voice, while I was frustrated I was just trying to get this whole thing figured out. I did not deserve to be talk to in such a rude manner period!!! I later talked with Lorraine and she was great and my money was refunded. I am not sure how this company stays in business charging customers wrong and with horrible customer service like this. While I appreciate it finally being resolved, I will never go back and my business will never use this company again due to how extremely rude Amy was. read more

Ethan at Avis went above and beyond to help us out when we realized our very small awd dodge crossover suv wouldn't cut it to get too Mt. Bachelor in the conditions we were in. We wanted to swap to a 4wd drive and feel safe so we could enjoy our time boarding and not worry about road conditions. They charged me for refueling even though the lady at the front desk asked me if the car was full and I said "yes" (and the car was indeed 100% full). They told me via email after I caught the charge that if you drive less than 75 miles you have to bring in a receipt proving that you refueled. What a scam. Had I not been watching my credit card statement for something else I would not have caught this. Jerks and scammers! They never mentioned any of this and would not have had I not caught them after the fact. read more

Word to the wise: Never rent from this company. Or if you do expect them to overcharge your credit card not be able to handle a simple return and pass the buck at every turn. My wife rented a car from Avis in Redmond and heard from them for 2 weeks that they couldn't find the car after returned......in a tiny lot w/ about 30 cars then you guys are morons! Then they found it because they outsource their support to Middle East 800 number it's hard to fix issue. Companies listen up, if you choose to outsource service and add beauracracy THAT IS YOUR PROBlEM!! Never the customers. No excuses if the airport staff can't handle a 2 day rental car return you shouldn't be in business. I worked for Hertz for 5 years and the bs I heard about this with no brains or accountability is staggering. We will never rent from Avis at any location after this. read more

When I returned my Avis rental to Redmond Oregon airport yesterday Blake at the rental counter lied about the charge for re- fueling, saying it would cost only $20. Today I got my bill emailed to me with a $50 refuel charge, so I called Avis to ask why. She told me I was charged $10 a gallon for 5 gallons of gas, and gave some ridiculous story about why she had told me the charge would be only $20. It was "computer generated." Of course she knew the per gallon charge, and she knew it was 3/4 full, so she could have told me the real charge for gas. At the time she didn't show me the receipt, but said it would be emailed. I have been Avis Preferred for years but after this experience I won't be using them again. Not only crazy high fees but they lie about them. read more

We found ourselves needing to rent a car locally at least every 3 weeks for several months. We started with Hertz, was a Gold Plus Member, always had the cars available that we reserved online, no problems the first 3 times we rented. Then the 4th rental became a nightmare. Won't bother with the details of the indifference that graduated to rudeness by the agent at the counter. We got a refund and literally walked 10 feet next door to Avis and Lorraine took care of us in a snap. I know she was able to overhear the situation with Hertz and without any derisive comments made by either of us regarding Hertz, she was able to put us in a car in 10 minutes. We have continued our frequent rentals with Avis ever since without any issues of availability of vehicles. Lorraine's customer service was outstanding and she always did her best to secure the same car we had grown accustomed to renting when it was available. We had such a great experience with the car, we ending up buying the same model car she had initially suggested we rent! The previous post regarding the gas charge - there is a large sign at the counter that warns you exactly what you will be charged per gallon. Short of the agent actually going out to the car and verifying what the gas gauge says versus the "honor system" of what the customer says the tank has in it, I think using the term "lied" is a bit strong. There is a gas station 2 miles from the airport at the local Fred Meyer. There is no excuse not to fill up before you return the car. I have always shown my gas receipt when returning the car and never have had an issue with additional fuel charges showing up later. read more
