Obviously, I have choices in rental car companies and I have chosen AVIS due to their better service. We've recently moved to Sandy Springs area and since I use rental cars all the time, I tried the agency closest to me which is Dunwoody. Unfortunately, they have poor customer care and always deny car confirmed rental on the last day. With my luck, I started doing business with Roswell (Mansell Rd) agency and they have been pretty professional. The reason for this review is to appreciate Julia at Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA. She has been an asset to Avis. She tries to resolve problems, care for customer's needs, and gives a lovely human face to this agency. Every time I go there, I feel like giving them more business. Unfortunately, Julia works weekends only and don't get to see her all the time but all I can say is that Avis management has done an excellent job hiring such dedicated workers who bring care and professionalism to this location. Avis charged me $250 for a cleaning fee for a vehicle dropped off at Roswell, GA on 06/26/2026. Both myself and an Avis representative examined the car upon it's drop off, it was in good condition both interior and exterior, and the representative told me "I was all set" before I left. She even sent me an ereceipt of the correct charges of $770.41. If she had any concerns, she should have let me know before I left, but she told me it was good, and I did not observe anything which required cleaning other than general cleaning. After I left the location and returned home I received another ereceipt with an additional charge of $276.88 which was for a miscellaneous fee of $250 plus tax which brought my new total to $1047.29. This resulted in the extra charge of $276.88. I contacted the location directly and spoke to the manager RJ aka Rahil said he'll review charges and get back to me on Monday June 29th. I have yet to receive a call fro him. I contacted Avis customer care several times and they claim the charges are valid and were submitted by the location's manager RJ. They presented photos of the 3rd row seating only where the cihildren were seated showing minimum snacks that fell on the rugs. I don't believe that justifies a $250 cleaning fee. I've rented from Avis in the past and have always returned vehicles in the same condition as this and was never charged. This charge was at best mistake and at worst deceptive or fraudulent, and I will avoid Avis in the future. I vow to never rent from AVIS again and will spread the word to all family, friends, colleagues, and future renters to do the same. read more

Not sure why they have such low reviews. My car was being repaired at the dealership for a few months and needed to rent. I ended up renting around 10x from here and also rented for a work trip and never had any issues. Overall super friendly staff and great car selection. Never rent from this place! The manager was not trying to help or listen to what the issue of the car that we rented. He was worried about his own business and not representing Avis well. This location is not very tech oriented. You fill out everything online for expedited check in. Then when you come in, the person has to essentially do the same thing while you wait. They have a bizarre rule about driving less than 75 miles and being penalized with the gas. They gave me a car with 1/2 tank then proceeded to ask me over and over if I filled up the tank when I returned it. I brought it back how you gave it to me. There is a man there that has zero customer service skills. He was curt and borderline rude. He approached me in the parking lot like I was supposed to know who he was with no name tag or Avis shirt asking me for the keys. The woman is much more friendly and customer service oriented. My rental was dusty and not "super clean" inside yet they give you all these signs about cleaning fee this, pet hair that. Well you should have it way more clean than what I was given. It even drove horribly over 55mph. They never asked about my ride or experience when I returned it. Also, they let you reserve a car at 2pm to be dropped off at 2pm on Saturdays. They close at 2pm on Saturdays. I get in and they say no you need to be back by 1:30pm or it is likely you will get charged another day because the computer will shutdown. What? So are you reimbursing the 30 minutes? And why not have 1:30 as the cut off then?! Lots of annoying non customer friendly things that make this not the most ideal place to rent. Good: Helpful Staff Bad: Small location Overall: Great Experience I rented a car from the airport and had to wait a while because of reduced inventory. I was given a Mitsubishi which was an awful experience. I called customer service and they told me I could visit another location to exchange it. I was greeted by a very nice man. Unfortunately I do not recall his name but he was wearing a turban which I expect makes him stand out from others that work there. He was incredibly helpful and friendly. My husband reserved a rental for us to drive a long trip this weekend. We get there and are completely taken around the block with his card won't work, I can't use my debit card even though it's a large bank, we need to use a credit card. I asked if this information was sent when he made the reservation and she just brushed us off and kept saying "I'm not the one to answer these questions, call this number." What do you mean you're not the one...this is your job! Needless to say we will not be renting there ever again. Also, your store smells like garbage. read more

The lady at the front has a heavy accent. The guy is somewhat reasonable, but do not go here. Terrible service not to mention, the run your debit card and make it fail, saying they only accept credit cards. STAY AWAY FRO THIS PLACE!! They are cheaters and will rip you off!! A friend of mine rented a car and drove me around. So I paid for the weeks rental. When we returned the car the lady at the desk refused to tell me how much was owed until after she swiped my card. She then tried to say we had the car for a week and two days. Rented a car to take on a long drive. Great experience. I've rented cars many dozens of times all over the country, and this was some of the most friendly and helpful staff I've ever encountered at a rental counter. Unlike some suburban rental locations where you just get whatever car they assign you, they had several on site. We got to sit in a couple and choose our preference. Pricing was competitive. Easy location. Will definitely use again. Only drawback is that with only one person typically working at the counter, you may have a brief wait to pick up / drop off at peak times. Signing up for an Avis Wizard number online before you pick up the car will handle most paperwork in advance, and speeds up the process. read more

Called ahead at the end of the day before to confirm that they had the car I've rented and asked for the earliest I could get the car - they sad 8am - came at 8am they were closed; waited until 9:03 and nobody showed up. This location is an absolute joke. Reservations are meaningless, and they will present you will terrible options when they are unable to fulfill their obligation. My choices were to take a car to Jiffy Lube and have it made roadworthy, or take a truck. After taking the truck, I quickly determined that the turn signals did not work, and the windshield wipers would not turn off. The owner / operator found it shocking that I found this car to be unsafe, despite that fact that I was unable to comply with local laws because my turn signals were disabled. If I could give 0 stars I would. The rudest people I've ever encountered in my entire life and completely unprofessional. I booked a car the day before I came in and received a confirmation of my booking. When I came in at the scheduled time to pick up the car, the two ladies behind the desk told me I was NOT picking up a car. Without as much as getting my name, she told me there was no car for me and I had not made a reservation. I informed her I had, and pulled up my confirmation on my phone. After looking at the confirmation (which listed the location, time of pick up, etc) she didnt even acknowledge that, CLEARLY, I had made a reservation. I got a good price on an Avis car via Costco travel. The staff was really nice, and I had a decent choice of cars (the web site said "Chevrolet Cruze or similar"; I had a choice of two Mazda 3-series and a VW Jetta, which in my opinion are a bit nicer than a Cruze). However, Avis gets deductions for three main points. By 10 a.m. on Monday, the guy responsible for cleaning up cars over the weekend had not shown up, so the poor receptionist was stuck doing a bit of cleaning, and the car wasn't vacuumed. Later, I also found a used tissue and an iPod from the car's previous renter still in the car. Yuck. Avis also does not offer the option of leaving keys in a drop-off box. Cars can only be returned during business hours (which do not include Sundays. Final negative: Avis insurance is ridiculously expensive. I do not spend most of the year in the US and no longer have a car/ insurance here. The last time I rented a car in the US, the cost of comprehensive insurance was something like $30 for the entire rental period. Avis insurance was nearly $50 a day! It was cheaper to call my parents from the car rental station and have myself added to their policy for about a month. I genuinely don't know if I will rent from Avis again. read more

I never rent cars, never had a need to do so, until my parents came in town, and we all decided to drive to Miami. We went to Avis, and were pleasantly surprised with their prices, and on top of that the manager who works there was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure talking to her, and she gave us a good price on an SUV, which is exactly what we wanted. When it was time to return the vehicle it was the snow week...so everyone was closed including Avis, so we got to keep the car for 2 more days. When we went in to return the car, of course some charges had accumulated, and the girl who was there at the time told us that we will have to call customer service to have the charges removed, b/c she could not do it at the store. I was a bit disappointed, but the next day however the manager called me herself and notified me that all the charges were removed. Whoohoo for good service! We rented a car over Thanksgiving. The reservation was made several weeks in advance. They day of the reservation I received an early phone call notifying me that the car was delayed an hour coming from the airport. I appreciated the heads-up but then I received a second call saying it was delayed another hour. My reservation was cut short two hours and then when I arrived to pick it up, it still wasn't there. We had to wait around another 30 minutes. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do about it. When the car finally arrived, she said she would credit us back a small amount for the inconvenience. We appreciated the gesture but the credit was never given to us. It was a busy, hectic time of year and the delay set us back a bit. We're pretty reasonable and understand things happen but the total inconvenience cost us about 2.5 hours and then there was no compensation for it. I still had to pay the full amount for the rental even though I didn't get it for the full term. There are just a lot of options these days, so customer service is key. read more

I chose AVIS because they have a fleet of Ford cars, and I drive an ST. They have the Ford Edge listed as one of the vehicle classes and I'm in the market for a new one. I reserved my car 2 months in advance for pickup on a Monday. The Saturday before I called the local number and was routed to a call center. I requested an Edge, even though I realize that they cannot guarantee a specific car. The rep noted it on my reservation and we hung up. Moments later, mister Singh (listed as the manager of the Roswell branch) called me to try and 'save me some money' by renting for a week instead of a weekend. Ummm...my res WAS for a week, so he wasn't paying attention. Then he wanted to upgrade me to an Explorer for $300+ more dollars. Nope. I repeated my previous request to him, and he stated that an Edge would be there on Monday. Lo and behold, when I arrived there was no Edge. Just Escapes and an Explorer with 10K more miles on it than both of my own cars, and it was in bad shape. I decided to use my own car for the trip. Bottom line: He had ONE JOB....to provide the vehicle I requested, and he lied about doing it. What a jerk. read more
