Lenny at the Cheyenne WY location was amazing. We had an issue with an unrepairable flat tire during our travels and he got us into a new vehicle right away. And it was the vehicle grade we had reserved (our original vehicle picked up from another location in WA state was 1 or 2 grades below). Great customer service and gave us a $50 credit for all of the hassles we had to go through at our pick up and with Avis's customer service. I rented a car from this location twice. The first time I was charged for fuel after returning a full vehicle. The second time, oh let me tell you. We got a Kia suv. The first night it leaked fluids everywhere. I went the next morning and was told to continue driving the vehicle. That evening the oil light came on. We went back and got another car and drove it 8 miles, parked it, and ran errands with our truck and trailer. When we returned an hour and half later the car wouldn't start. We called the location and he "instructed us" how to start a Mazda. It didn't work so we went to the location. Remember, we picked this car up that morning. The manager told my husband that he must have left the car on overnight. They could not give us another car because "it was in our possession". But he could help us start it at two, it was 10. We were on day 3 without a functioning rental car. We gave him the keys and he supposedly ordered a tow truck. This was after I was told by road side assistance to take the first car to get an oil change and submit reimbursement. Well, two weeks later and the tow truck hasn't picked up the car, customer service won't help me, and the original person I spoke with from customer serve that had stated they would follow up, never did. I now have almost $1200 of charges from a rental car that has been sitting because of failure to follow through. Save your time and your headache. read more

Instead I get an email telling me that my reservation had been canceled. So, without any warning I have to figure out how to get a rental car last minute for a business trip. read more

Customer service at this location was very disappointing and unpleasant. I returned my rental car around 1:45 p.m., which was 15 minutes before the posted closing time of 2:00 p.m. I handed the keys to the employee, provided the vehicle's mileage, and opted for Avis's refueling service because I was in a hurry. The employee informed me that the car would not be checked in until the next business day and that I would be charged a late fee. She stated that because the vehicle needed to be refueled--and because she would have to do it herself--she would not check the car in, despite me having selected the refueling option. As a result, she refused to complete the return process, did not provide a receipt, and gave me no proof that the car was returned on time. I returned the car before closing, followed the required return procedure, and despite my efforts to comply with all policies, I now may have to dispute the late charges with Avis. The staff member was unprofessional and dismissive, and treated the situation as an inconvenience rather than following standard return procedures. read more

Gave us a car with a 1/4 tank of gas upon rental. We filled it up and returned it with over a half tank. They charged us 109.00 for fuel. Because I did not take a pic of the fuel gauge and the rental counter in Cheyenne lied on the agreement and said it was full, we are S.O.L. Called Cheyenne rental counter and got transferred to customer service who would not help again. Save your money and go with Enterprise. read more

I was able to rent a vehicle at 2:00 pm. However, when I came to pick up the vehicle a few minutes before two, the lady left and the owner claims she left at two. REGARDLESS, why on earth do you allow someone to rent a vehicle at 2:00 if your employees are able to leave before that time? The cost was over $1,400 to rent this vehicle and I got treated with terrible service! As a preferred member who rents frequently this is the worst customer service!!! Customer service is a nightmare and the staff leave early and you end up stranded with no car. The owner did nothing to help the situation and straight up lied, saying the front desk left at two when they left BEFORE two. As an Avis preferred client, I am outraged! my flight number was on teservation. flight delayed about 45 minutes. we arrived 2:05 pm. and they close the airport avis at 2:00, without waiting the arrival of the only daytime flight to Cheyenne. we were 3 people have reservations in that flight and there is no way yo reach anyone. I rented a car on line same day and cancelled it 9 minutes later. I was charged 150.00 for their 9 minutes of inconvenience. Never at anytime making the reservation was i warned i was making a non refundable decision. Only after making the decision to cancel the reservation was i told about the policy. I called the customer service line and asked to speak to a manager and was told I needed to wait a half hour to soeak with one and no they would not take my number and call me back. If you are renting a car, I would recommend avoiding Avis at all cost. After my WY trip, in which I pre-paid for my car and there was a hiccup with my flight for the arrival/pickup date. (American Airlines cancelled my flight and I had to pick between arriving at midnight or the following day or Denver.) The location office was very, very nice and accomodating, but it is the corporate office and their lack of sense of customer service that I do not like. I got the SUV that I originally booked for and without the extra $250 fee that the 800-number wanted from me (but through contacting the location of the rental directly). After returning the car, I noticed an extra charge ($26.82) very close to what Avis will give me in Amazon credit ($26.92). Out of principal, I called the 800-number to persue the issue. What did the guy tell me? Oh, it's because you changed your reservation. My response? That's not how you do business. No one at the pickup counter told me of the extra charge and I spoke to 3 different agents on the phone about the reservation change but no one spoke of this extra charge. I had to rent a car to drive one way from Cheyenne to Great Falls, MT. All of the other rental car companies wanted to charge the daily rate plus more than $250 for the one way. Avis was the only company who didn't want to charge me the extra "tax" for it. I spent a total of $81 for a full size sedan for 2 days and 660 mile one way trip. Highly recommend if you're looking to go long distance one way. read more

I believe that when service is exceptional that a compliment should be given. A few times a year I write a review or letter passing along accolades about an employee or company. I can't remember when the last time I gave a negative review/feedback. Unfortunately I feel that I should say something about Avis Cheyenne. I rented a car from Avis Cheyenne. I booked it on line and paid up front. By the time all was said and done I paid about double that price. That is with filling up the gas tank and not taking any insurance. The employees there seem stressed and are not very friendly. I have to wonder if it does not reflect on culture that asks them to get every penny from the customer. I can't help but wonder if they overcharge on credit cards knowing that a certain percentage will not catch it. When I called them on the issue they acknowledge that they over charged but never credited that money back to my card. It makes me wonder if they are playing the percentages there too. Only a certain percentage will then go to the trouble to dispute the charge on their card too. If you choose to rent from them and what a hassle free experience just plan on paying double the price. read more
