When I arrived I was greeted by Dorela who was so professional, kind and efficient. My rental was for 1pm so Dorela said I could pick up the car at 12:40 which was perfect as I ran and did a few errands and came back right on time. Dorela gave me a choice of small SUVs and I went with the Mazda CX50 which was perfect in size and comfort. Dorela made the check out process quite easy and was a joy to deal with. It's customer service representatives like Dorela who make a difference in this world and her smile and personality light up the room. A true professional and wonderful person. Great experience. Ask a question, her answer will most probably be no, or they can't do this or that. We have been going there for months, we expect loyal customer service - nope not here. Walked in with a smile -- was met with a frown, no eye contact, and a monotone voice. Not a great start. I was an hour early for my reservation, which seemed to confuse the agent. She struggled to figure out how to adjust it, so I simplified things by canceling and rebooking for the correct time right there in the office. After that, I was handed a pen and paper and told to go outside and manually write down any scratches on the car -- which should've already been documented. When I finished, I tried to open the vehicle and heard the alarm go off on a car parked about 300 feet away. Clearly not mine. I caught the agent on her way out the back and told her. She casually pointed to another car and said, "Just take that one." That "other car" was dirty, baking in the sun, unlike the clean, shaded one I'd originally been assigned. Her reasoning? "You just made a last-minute reservation." So apparently if I'd waited in the office for an hour instead of helping her troubleshoot her own system, I'd have gotten a better car. Car rental places are everywhere--there are probably four just on Thousand Oaks Blvd alone--but the service here has gone completely downhill. The man working at this Avis/Budget location is incredibly rude, lacks any customer service skills, and is simply unpleasant to deal with. I've rented from this location for years and had great experiences--until this current manager showed up. I let one bad encounter slide, but after a second terrible experience, I'm done. What a joke!! I called to reserve a car and was thrilled that they had a 7-seater available around Thanksgiving so I could pick up my large family at LAX. The very next day though, I got a phone call from Avis saying that they didn't have any cars and that my reservation was being cancelled. It put me in a terrible bind. Then, to add insult to injury, I just checked my credit card statement and discovered that AVIS had the nerve to CHARGE ME $367 for a car I NEVER rented. I called to complain, but it was close to closing time. The customer service rep listened to my story, then asked to put me on hold. She waited until the clock struck 6pm, and then, you guessed it, she hung up on me. I would never ever rent (or should I say TRY-to-rent) a car from Avis again. They suck big, big time. read more

I rented a car because I was traveling to Vegas and my sons are over 6 feet tall so I purposely requested and reserved a large car such as an expedition. It offered me if out of stock option would you like something similar? I said yes. I get to my reservation appointment time only to find a Qx C90 as the car I have to accommodate me. I told the lady I wanted an expedition she said yes it says expedition or similar. I then stated this car would be more in the class of an explorer not an expedition. Also, the car was filthy. She said they hand wash the cars and that they just water spots and then said please follow me outside and tell me that you think this car is clean. She then proceeds to say it's water spots but she can have them re-wash them. As if this is not the same equivalent as an expedition, which is what I paid for. She then repeated that in fact, it was the same class. I had to leave to get on the road so I just took the vehicle as it. However, when I was driving the airbag sensor went off, the around the car camera sensor for the rear bumper of thecar went off in the car was shaking once you got on the freeway at a higher speed. The car needed an alignment as well. When I return to drop off the car, I asked if they could let me know the last time the car was serviced. The gentleman at the desk said I don't know. I asked if I could get a printout somewhere other than from him and he said he did not know. I also asked for a ride home and they don't offer that service I was told. Save your money go to Hertz or enterprise. They are establishments with integrity and it is not worth the hassle if. If I could give zero stars for service and for being overcharged for what I got, I would. I will also be contacting corporate. read more

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, there was an issue with my credit card, which I didn't understand because I had plenty available. They gave me the runaround stating I could not use that card again for 24 hours. I had not brought another card. They would not rent me the vehicle. Basically they said never prepay. They could have helped me out if I had paid the higher price!! Unbelievable. Go to Simi Valley if possible. Much nicer people. read more

I had the most horrific experience of my life and I would warn ANY INDIVIDUAL that steps foot in this establishment to beware of everything! I initially had PREPAID for three weeks for a long range Tesla ! Of course upon arriving to the establishment I , the gentleman advised that they do not have that vehicle however they have a Ford Mustang Mach E as well as well the Genesis G80! I looked at the Genesis and instantly fell in love! However, the vehicle needs to be charged so the gentleman on shift advised I take the mustang for the day and then we can swap vehicles the next day! I agreed! Upon arriving to the facility I gave Avis a call to make sure everything was still as agreed! This is when I received THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MY LIFE! A gentleman by the name of Jonathon answered the phone very rudely and advised that I cannot swap vehicles because I did not reserve the Genesis. I explained to him it was supposed to be a swap and he completely overtalked me and stated that the Genesis is not able to be rented because "it is having some issues charging". Seemed very odd to me especially if I was here a day prior and was told that the vehicle was working . Anyway I inquired about any other electric vehicles they might have ! Jonathan then became very irate and advised me to come bring the mustang back ! Upon arriving to the location, I met Jonathan face to face to get clarity! He grabbed the keys from me and my rental contract ! Ima edition he reran my drivers license in which I was very confused as this was just supposed to be a swap! Jonathan then became even more upset that I questioned him as to his actions and asked me what is wrong with me !? m I high !? Very calmly I stated what are you talking about all I did was ask a question! Jonathan proceeded to say "I do not like your attitude because you are speaking to me very aggressively and I feel unsafe so I am calling the police! As he proceeded to call law enforcement I proceeded to call customer service to advise everything that is going on! Customer service advised that Jonathan closed my contract, issued a refund , and would not swap! Upon explaining everything to the customer service rep , she was APPALLED ! She had me on hold for about 10 mins when the police arrived ! She apologized and advised me to just go to another location to use a 2 day coupon (in which I later found out did not work for an electric vehicle) ! Law enforcement approached me and asked me what is going on ! I advised them that I really can't believe all this was because I wanted to swap vehicles!
