I've needed to rent here on and off for the past four months after my car was totaled in a hit and run with a semi-truck. Lily, one of the managers, has been incredibly helpful and friendly and has gone above and beyond my expectations. She really worked with me during a difficult time and made the whole process so much easier. Abel, the general manager, is also very professional, helpful and welcoming. The young woman who drove me home after I dropped off the car was kind. The cars have all been great, and the overall environment feels warm and positive. This place is 100% unreliable. I have had more than one reserved vehicle just not be available with no explanation. Recently reserved and received confirmation online about renting a passenger van for my son's bday only to show up and learn not only did they not have the van, they had no cars. I was there with another woman who was in a similar situation and another who was told they had no record of any reservation for her. The guys working were at least noce about telling everyone on a Sunday 30 mins before they closed how screwed they were, but had no solutions. Steer clear and rent from someplace more reliable. You will wait hours and leave frustrated. read more

Booked a car in advance. Called the morning of the rental to get someone to pick me up. Had me on hold for over 45 minutes and no one answered. Finally decided to get my own ride. The car they had for me was not the car I requested and the one that they had was very high mileage. They tried to upgrade me to a car for twice the money. If there were an option to give -5 stars, that's exactly what I would have given. We picked up our rental on Friday, June 26, for a my daughter and I road trip to Colorado. The problems started almost immediately. Around 9:00 PM that evening, we noticed the vehicle's registration tags had already expired. It was too late to return the vehicle because we were leaving at 5:00 AM the next morning. While driving toward Las Vegas, I realized the vehicle had a serious brake issue. Every time I applied the brakes, the entire SUV shook violently, which made it feel unsafe to drive. I had to drive below the speed limit and pump the brakes just to reduce the shaking and enough time to stop the car. We stopped overnight in Utah, and the next morning the key fob battery was dead. We couldn't unlock the vehicle remotely, and when we used the physical key, the alarm went off. After finally getting the alarm to stop, the vehicle still wouldn't start. It took about 10 attempts before it finally turned over. We decided to continue to Grand Junction to buy a replacement battery, but on the way, the low tire pressure warning came on. At that point, I called Enterprise Roadside Assistance, and they arranged for us to exchange the vehicle in Grand Junction. I understand that a low tire pressure warning can happen unexpectedly, but the expired registration, defective brakes, and dead key fob battery are all maintenance issues that should have been caught before the vehicle was rented. Those problems were Enterprise's responsibility. Renting out a vehicle in that condition was negligent and put my daughter and me at risk during a long road trip. When my husband explained everything to the Enterprise location in Thousand Oaks, the only response he received was, "You have roadside assistance." Are you kidding me? Roadside assistance doesn't excuse renting customers an unsafe, poorly maintained vehicle. I'm not even going to get into our experience at the Enterprise location in Grand Junction. The employee who helped us was rude, dismissive, and acted like helping customers was an inconvenience. Her customer service also deserves -5 stars. Overall, this experience showed a complete lack of concern for customer safety and satisfaction. It felt like the only priority was getting vehicles out the door and making money, not ensuring they were safe and properly maintained. read more

Reserved a car, went in, and even with 30 rentals over the past 10 years, the guy at the counter, started to go thru a long list of requirements, back up references, secondary phone number, etc. He was rude, short with me, then pushed my CC back and said he would not rent to me. Somebody check his meds - he is not Enterprise material. By contrast, the folks at Midway Rentals bent over backwards to help me. and 25% cheaper. read more

What a complete waste of time. We reserved a truck this afternoon and were told it would be ready. So I left Thousand Oaks in bumper-to-bumper traffic headed to Camarillo to pick up a truck we had reserved. On the way there, I received a message saying the truck was no longer available, but they suggested I call in to see if they had any other car I could use. After more than 20 attempts to reach someone by phone, nobody answered. No voicemail. No way to get through to anyone. I then contacted the Thousand Oaks location while I was still in Camarillo. I was told, "Come on down, we have two trucks available -- you can choose whichever one you want." So I drove another 40 minutes back through traffic over the grade to Thousand Oaks, only to arrive and immediately be told those trucks were not available either and that they had nothing they could rent me. Meanwhile, calling the corporate office to "verify" availability was just as useless. Apparently they can make reservations but cannot actually confirm whether vehicles are physically available at the location. Camarillo told me they cannot contact Thousand Oaks because they are "independent stores," and Thousand Oaks said the same about Camarillo. So nobody communicates with each other, yet customers are expected to waste hours driving around based on promises that turn out to be false. I run a business in Thousand Oaks, and we answer every call that comes through because we understand the blood, sweat, tears, and money it takes to make the phone ring. It's obvious the people at these locations could care less about customers' time. When I explained to the employee in Thousand Oaks that I had just spent 40 minutes driving back based on their promise, he simply walked away like it was no big deal and went back to playing video games. Shame on them for their poor business ethics, and shame on Enterprise for allowing customers to be treated this way. On A positive note, I stumblied upon Aves, they quickly picked up the phone, told me they had a truck we could use, verifed it was availbile, got there and within 15 min was on our way out with our rental. Maybe Enterprise should take notes on what means to offer great customer service !!! read more

I had to cancel my reservation because this location could not find a car for me that was even similar/equivalent to what I rented. Hertz successfully provided me a car. If I had stock in enterprise I'd sell, this company can only go down. read more

Terrible service . Manager Eric is unprofessional and rude . Had a reservation and was told to keep calling back to confirm car desired would be there . Called the day before as requested and told car wasn't available . I pressed the manager Eric and he just said " here's what we are going to do, cancel your reservation" and hung up the phone. I then drove over to their office and he would not provide his last name or a managers contact . I called corporate and logged a complaint. The area mgr did call me and was very helpful but unfortunately wasn't able to reverse the failed expectation due to time restraint. I've been a member for 25 this is the worst location . I should have read the reviews before booking, but it was through Costco so I assumed it would be fine. I've rented with Enterprise for many years so I was not expecting this treatment from them. Long story short, the guy at the counter wanted to charge me $300 for my $250 rental, and then he said, it would actually be $550. Well which one is it? Where does the contract say that you can make up the charges as you go? He also required two forms of proof of address, like I walk around with that in my purse. I've never been required to pay before I rented, pay more than my rental agreement, or show proof of life. And I know he could see my previous rentals on the screen. I Ubered to their location and then had to turn around and Uber back to work. This experience was unbelievable. They probably treat people however they please because there are so few competitors in the area. Don't mistreat your customers and think your business will flourish. read more

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! I had the single worst experience, worst customer service, I've ever had in this location. I'm a 5" tall, 64 year old woman. Not scary, not threatening, always polite and always grateful to the hard working people who serve others in various business roles. I worked in retail management for many years and understand how difficult people can be so make sure to never be one of those "difficult" customers. I've also been renting with enterprise for decades but never will again. I reserved a car weeks before a visit to my kids who live in Woodland Hills. My flight was landing late at LAX so I knew I would not be able to pick up my car on the Saturday I'd reserved it for by the time they closed at 1:00pm. So I called that location, asked if I could prepay and send my license info but they wouldn't do it. Fine. But they were also closed on Sunday so I wouldn't be able to get the car till Monday which was not helpful since I was only visiting for 4 days. They said I could change the reservation for Sunday if I could pick up in Thousand Oaks. I said fine as long as I could get the child car seat I reserved which was essential for me to transport my 4 yr old granddaughter. The agent promised me there would be a car seat in Thousand Oaks for me and said he'd personally call over there to make sure. I showed up at opening, 9:00am, in Thousand Oaks on Sunday. Eric, I believe the manager, took my name and license without a greeting or a smile. Fine. Then I said I just wanted to make sure the car seat was in the car. He said "I don't have a car seat here." I calmly said I was assured I there would be one for me and he said...and I quote..."I don't care what you were told, I don't have one". Needless to say I was upset. My kids were relying on me to pick up my granddaughter and I needed the seat. I said, "I don't mean to shoot the messenger here because I know you're doing your job, but this is very upsetting and problematic and I was assured you'd have one". Then he started to get scarily aggressive, saying he just got the reservation the day before at 1:00pm so it was not his problem and said he didn't care what I was told and I should get out of "his" store and threw my license at me saying he wouldn't rent a car to me! I immediately got on the Enterprise customer service line and asked for help and he yelled at me to get out of his store. And here's the irony....as this was happening, a nice young man working there who had witnessed this whole scene came out from the back with a car seat!! They had one! By this time I was shaking and on the verge of tears. I apologized saying I'm sorry if you felt I was being rude but I was upset and certainly didn't mean to take it out on you so let's just move forward and process the car WITH car seat, and call it a day. He said "I'm not renting to you, get the hell out of my store"!! I was horrified and beyond upset. My kids had to come get me and we were all late for the event I was there for. My son was so upset and said something that I still don't want to believe but I can't help wonder. I'm a Jewish woman who wears a small Star of David necklace. I gave this man Eric absolutely zero reason to treat me like this. We hadn't exchanged more than 3 or 4 sentences when he turned rude and menacing. I even tried to pacify him blaming myself for something that was enterprise's fault not his. It makes one wonder if he wasn't acting on simple, horrible, antisemitism. I pray I am wrong and he was just having a really bad day but this guy should be fired and Enterprise will never, ever get another dollar from me. read more

I was there last week. Had a very fast turn around to get a car. Walked in and met Abel Arevalo. Could not have been more helpful. He turned me over to Isabel/ IZ and she was fantastic. Charming, kind and very very helpful. Got me in and out in a sedan. Returned it the next day and was in and out in 10 minutes. The shop felt like I had been there before and they welcomed me home. Wish more place were like this. This location and the Roberston location in Beverly Hills are fantastic. Im a fan. read more

From my experience, in Thousand Oaks, Enterprise is the top choice, especially if one doesn't have a ride to and from there otherwise. In that situation, even if the competition is somewhat cheaper up front, Enterprise is less expensive when one factors in the cost of a ride share. The cars at Enterprise seem to be cleaner and in better shape than the "guys down the street" from my recent rental experience. At the T.O. Boulevard office, Isabel has been a GREAT customer service representative in my recent dealings. She is a top reason to do business there. read more

Don't go here unless you have an abundance of time and like being ignored. You can have a reservation and you can expect to sit in the waiting room at least 15 minutes before even being spoken to. They had one customer service rep for multiple people waiting. Then multiple service reps showed up and spent their time chatting, interrupting one service experience to help other customers. It's a confusing mess of absenteeism and operational inefficiency. All told it was an hour of my time to get in a car that was reserved and should have been grab and go. My insurance carrier gave me the option of two rental agencies, and I would definitely choose anything over this enterprise location in the future. Listening to these sales reps tell potential customers on the phone, "no worries, we'll get you in and out right away" was laughable. read more

I would not recommend the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Thousand Oaks location due to the managerial impotence as it relates to customer service, racial bias, and resolution. I encountered a recurring issue with the seatbelt getting stuck in the car door. I arrived at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Thousand Oaks location, walked in and expressed this concern and a need for some resolution to swap out the vehicle. As I was explaining this to one of the individuals at the front desk the Assistant Branch Manager Adam Racz interjected and said to me that their location didn't have vehicles available for a swap out and proceeded with "So is all you're looking for help?" to which I responded with yes. He then came outside to attempt to "help" with the door for no more than a minute and said "Oh, that's stuck stuck" Adam then deferred me to Jiffy Lube and said to tell them he sent me. Against my better judgement I drove to Jiffy Lube and did as he advised but was told that they could not help me. I then returned to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Thousand Oaks location and addressed Adam directly to tell him that Jiffy Lube despite his advisement told me that they could not help me. At this point I expressed that I needed some assistance with swapping out the vehicle considering the safety hazard that comes with no available seatbelt and the inability to close or open the door. Adam insisted he had no available vehicles for a swap out and even said that "No other location would want to swap out a vehicle a day before Christmas" further instating his unwillingness to provide customer service. From this point forward all Adam did was further escalate the situation, I asked him if he could check the inventory at other local locations and call to which he responded "Could you call?" he encouraged other staff to ignore me and my family saying "You don't have to engage in going back and forth with them" and ultimately threatened to call the police if we didn't leave despite the fact that I was not at all aggressive or disrespectful. Considering the individuals around me that walked in and walked out with what seemed to be a smooth customer service experience were not of my complexion I cannot help but believe that Adam chose to be purposefully unhelpful from the moment I arrived and solely escalated the situation because I am a woman of color. He treated my family and I as if we were criminals and had no remorse as he had an expressive smirk throughout the entirety of this experience. I am utterly disappointed in the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Thousand Oaks location and will be moving forward with contacting the Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, and Corporate. read more

I went in to swap out a vehicle that I rented from another location and he stated he had no vehicles available and I should go back to the location that I rented from. To make it more comical, he said he has 60 reservations waiting for a car which is complete BS because his lot was full with cars. I called the next day and the staff said they have plenty of cars available to rent. I asked Abel how long till I can get into a car and he said 1-week. Why in the world would a branch manager blatantly lie to a customer? His performance needs to be accounted for and his management title revoked. My company rents from this location quite frequently and has for years. We have endured many a staff change but overall have been totally satisfied with the timely, professional and clean service provided here. It's much better than dealing with the airport and they always have a wide variety of vehicles available, which is paramount for us as sometimes we need multiple cars of different variety. Electric cars are a definite bonus as well. The reason for the low rating comes down to their one Assistant Manager, Jenny. They have several it turns out at this location and that's sensical because they always seem to be rather active. To start with the good; Kyle is phenomenal. He is personable, efficient, understanding and just excels at his job. He makes sure everyone stays on task and does things in a timely fashion. He makes sure we get shuttles when we need. It's not a surprise he is a Manager here. Roxanne, Nick, Zach, and the like are all great as well. Nick always does us right in finding the right cars. We like Patrick a lot too. He's always peppy and positive and seems pretty knowledgeable on most of the vehicles they offer all while taking the time to make sure he addresses any issues and trying to be personable. The main issue is with Jenny, the girl who is apparently in charge of the fleet. I always dread when she's the one there handling the cars for rent. I find her to not only be rude but unprofessional. She is consistently on her cell phone, making comments, spends more time derailing the staff trying to do their job than doing hers. A couple months ago, I interrupted her texting on her phone and she let out an aggravated sigh, rolled her eyes, and then put a fake smile on as though she wanted to answer the questions I on the rental we booked. I get that it's not a serious job for a lot of people but a job is still a job and it should be done properly when being paid and in front of paying customers. I'm glad that the staff are friends or maybe involved with one another, everyone needs love and needs friends, but there is a time and place. Last time she held both Nick and Patrick up getting the cars checked in with the recipients because she would rather the three of them stand around and talk then accomplish anything. They all should know better but Managers set the example. Every time it's her in charge of things I know it will take me at least double the time to get the car and leave the lot. It's not a deal breaker, obviously, because we do really like this location and what it offers but she doesn't have any business being a Manager and probably no business working at such a busy spot. She should be somewhere that get less traffic so it doesn't reflect so badly that she wants to be on her phone and messing around with staff all day. There are plenty of better workers there that deserve a promotion. Whomever is in charge of this location should perhaps evaluate staffing hierarchy and teach proper etiquette when on the clock. read more

During the Thanksgiving break, I took a trip with one of their minivans, a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica to be exact. I booked it online prior to renting it and got a phone call a few days before I had to go in. The gentleman on the phone assured me that I would get the car, after I explained to him that I was driving a group of seniors around California. During the morning of my scheduled afternoon appointment, I had a cheery lovely voice call me letting me know that they would upgrade me to a premium SUV because they weren't sure if there was going to be a Chrysler Pacifica coming in on time. When I showed up for my appointment, I met the cheery voice gal, whose name I now forget, but TOTALLY SWEET IN PERSON AS WELL. She immediately put me in touch with Emma Fleming, the management trainee, who very politely showed me the SUV that was going to be my rental. In the moment that we finished, there was another employee that ran in from the back of the lot and announced happily that the minivan I had requested had come in. We went through the gates to the back where Emma continued to explain the insurance coverage they offered. Without hesitating, I took it, knowing I don't trust other drivers, and cannot be more pleased with her explanation and showing me on the iPad all of the charges. COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY. Towards the end of the trip I received a text message and an email asking if I wanted to extend my rental to where I said no. I had scheduled through the app-which is so convenient-that I would be returning the car after hours and leave the key in the key drop as scheduled. It's always a little scary knowing that the car is in the open and that anybody can vandalize these cars and the renter would be held responsible, but with the cameras and the phone call the next day, I felt if I had to do it again after hours, I would do it. The next day Tyler called me and was closing out the invoice. I didn't realize then that I had left my sunglasses and my sunglasses visor holder in the minivan. When I called back, he told me he would look for it immediately after the phone call with him. Within minutes, he called me back to let me know that he had it, and it was going to be with him at the front desk. I went in later that day, and he happily handed it to me, and it was in the front with him just like he promised. There is nothing better than great customer service! Beware- deceptive practices at this Enterprise location! After being in a car accident, I was referred by my auto repair company, Caliber Collision, to Enterprise. I had a terrible experience. I was told by Caliber that they were covering the cost of the rental car. Enterprise was very busy when I arrived, and I ended up waiting for a very long time in the waiting room. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I was told by Tanner that I could come out and pick up my car. I distinctly told Tanner that I did not care what type of car I was put in. He then asked my what kind of car I had and promised to put me in something similar. I WAS NOT TOLD there would be additional charges above what the auto body shop was covering. When a Jeep Compass SUV rolled out (still dripping from the wash) I was basically just shoved in and went along my way. Imagine my surprise when after turning in the car 2 days later, I was called by another associate that my credit card would be charged for the upgrade. When I called to complain I was left on hold (by Tanner) for an excess of 50 minutes when attempting to contact a manager. He said that he had told me there was an upcharge and that I had agreed to it in the contract. However, at the time I picked up the car no additional charges were mentioned or shown, he just scrolled to the portion of the contract on an I-pad and had me initial. Here I am on hold (still) 56 minutes later waiting to speak to a manager. What kind of customer service is this? I have never experienced such deceptive business practices from a rental car agency. Who leaves someone on hold for over an hour with a complaint? Completely unacceptable. I plan to file a complaint with the corporate office next.
