We had some weird bites with Little to no meat and just shallot and blueberry, but still yum. The duck was phenomenal. The foie gras is one of the best I have ever had. Great wine pairing. Tiramisu was kinda bland and fell flat... Overall it is hard to contend with the level of service and execution of food. We are very picky! Mostly with our own food so major props. I kept seeing this place on Tik Tok and I had to give it a try because when they said $20 for a martini and unlimited Caesar Salad and fries, I was sold! I also ordered the bougie chicky nuggies and the burger. Both were ABSOLUTELY delicious! The service was good but you don't really have someone taking your order. You order everything by phone and it sends it back to the kitchen, but they are available to answer any questions you may have. We went to the bar and were pretty appalled at the service. I never write bad reviews, but you could not order from a waiter, only the app. I'm all for technology, but it was the most impersonal experience. After spending close to $500 between about 8 of us, while still eating our food and drinking, were told we had 5 minutes until we had to leave in order to give up our table to another group (we were only there for an hour and a half and there were several open tables). The food was great, but due to everything listed, I definitely will not be back. Customer service is apparently frowned upon at this place. read more

Parking is terrible!! Valet is extremely rude, pushy and predatory, when Self park is available and free/validated by the restaurant. They need to get rid of the valet or fire the attendants. I'm convinced that they break the gate just to make people valet with them, as this has been the case both times I've gone. The service is near perfect and the menu novel and adventurous. They have a killer wine list that's been carefully curated to complement the alpine cuisine. We enjoyed caviar service and champagne to start. The Flammkuchen and foie gras parfait to start, both were perfectly executed. Avize Restaurant is definitely a vibe! I went here for the first time with my husband for his staff Christmas lunch, and everything I tasted was absolutely delicious with great presentation. The setting was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect atmosphere. The chef even surprised us with a goodie bag of amazing bread rolls and butter, which was such a thoughtful touch. Could not wait to leave from the second we got there. Hostess let us know she couldn't seat 5 all night because they were fully booked but said we can get a drink at the bar, which is totally fine - surprising given the excessive number of empty tables - but if they really had that many reservations that's totally out of their control. What was in their control was letting us know every single seat at the bar was also reserved - "and even if they weren't couldn't seat 5" - when i asked. Our friend then proceeded to make a reservation on her phone, despite them being "fully booked" and they sat us. Given we had 5, i asked for another drink menu, so we did not have to all read from one. The waitress said she didn't know if there was extra - while we sat with her in a nearly empty restaurant where the other customers had already ordered, and were no longer using menus. She then brought the drink menu and proceeded to not come back for about 10 minutes, so we left. None of our party was excited to be there anymore and did not feel welcome. read more

We arrived on time for our reservation. The hostess told us that we were "fourth in line," which is a first for me when going somewhere with a reservation. We were told that we could sit at the bar, which we did while we waited for our table. We ordered drinks, and the saltiest espresso martini known to man appeared in front of us. While disgusting, it at least provided some entertainment while we waited 40 minutes for our table. When we were finally seated in the largely empty back dining room, we were served an egg filled with what seemed like extremely salty animal ejaculate. We ordered two glasses of red wine and an appetizer. While the glasses of wine came 20 minutes later, we're still waiting on the appetizer 9 days later. Our waiter informed us that we would need to order entrees soon because the kitchen was closing. This was interesting because we wouldn't have felt rushed if we were seated on time. Both of our meals were pretty disgusting; the duck was chewy, and the steak was cold and chewy. The best part was the carrots. The passive-aggressive staff, taxidermied goat, and subpar food really bring this place together. read more

The way you coursed out the evening was marvelous. Loved the Amuse Bouche as a surprise to start off the evening. The appetizers were astonishing - had the Dandelion Salad, the Flammkuchen, and the Trout Cru. The food was out of this world. The hot complimentary bread service with amazing butter hit the spot. Entrees we had were the American Wagyu (amazing), the Poulet Grenobloise, and the Mezzaluna with a side of Cauliflower. The cocktails and dessert were superb as recommended by Taurean (Director of Beverage Hospitality). We had the Cosmos with dinner and had the Espresso Piedmont and Young Grass Hopper with the dessert of the Mont Blanc (outstanding). Taurean even took time to give us a quick tour of the property and the future cocktail bar area. Can't forget to mention the surprise of the Mignardise to finish off the experience. Absolutely fantastic experience at Avize, an upscale Alpine dining experience on the West Side. Chef Karl Gorline, Sommelier Taurean Philpott, and their team have put so much thought into every single part of this experience -- the menu, the ingredients (sourced from a local farm), he ambiance, the dishwear, the decor, the cocktails, the service -- everything. Drawing from Swiss, French, and Italian influences (that Alpine sweet spot), the food is both unique and familiar. Highlights were the venison tartare and the beet carpaccio as starters, the agnolotti and the waygu beef as mains. The restaurant itself is moody forest greens (including a foggy mountain backdrop in the private dining room) and a light mid-century touch. The food was excellent! My husband and I went yesterday for Valentine's Day. We started with the caviar and muffins; 10/10! Our favorite appetizer was the dandelion salad and flammkuchen (basically pizza with a lot of onions and bacon) 9/10 and our least favorite was the venison tartare; 6.5/10. Next we had American wagyu, which tasted heavenly 10/10 and the botanical hay smoked duck 3/10 I'm just not a fan of duck. The atmosphere was warm and dim, and felt like I was sitting in a comfy living room. The service could have been a little better. It took a minute for us to get our drinks from the bar, but our waitress was very nice and every time they bought a dish, they explained what was in it and how to eat it and bought small hors d'oeuvres to complement the dish. And our bill was unexpected low! Also, they took the duck off our bill without us even asking! The whole experience and meal was a 9.5! I highly recommend the experience and food! read more

The menu was practically in a foreign language to me. Started off strong with some kind of eggshell filling as the amuse bouche, and that alone already garuntees a second trip to this resturant for me. For apps I ordered the trout cru, venison tartare, and foie gras parfait. For the main we ordered the halibut, duck, and the side tartiflette. I was on vacation and heard about this place from my hotel concierge. I went and the food was amazing until I saw mice running and crawling up the fire place wall. I let the servers know and it was this whole thing. Everyone at the place was now looking as they were trying to capture this mice. It was so unpleasing and made my stomach hurt . They had us order our apps and entrees at the same time to time it out correctly but it was a good hour in between the apps and entrees. Our server didn't even say anything about it either... oh well. We tried the duck, wagyu, halibut it was all pretty average. I had a one night layover in ATL and randomly found this spot. So glad I did because it might have been the best meal of my life! I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want anyone else to know that Avize is excellent and maybe the best new restaurant in Atlanta. The service, the food, and the vibe are all incredible. If you usually go to the same 5-10 restaurants in Buckhead, like I do, Avize is a must. I also have a zillion food allergies (gluten, dairy, corn, etc.), and I was losing my mind over how flavorful and enjoyable the food was while also allergy-friendly. I know traffic can be meh going to the Westside, but truly, Avize is worth it. I went with a big group (8+), but I think this would be a fab date spot, and I am going back asap for a girl's dinner. My sister and I were in town and ate at Avize. The Alpine decor and ambiance is beautiful and elegant, without being stuffy. The staff and the service are top notch. Chef Karl Gorline is an awesome chef, who knows how to bring flavors together to create beautiful dishes that taste absolutely delicious! The menu and prices are reasonable for an upscale resaurant.
