I had really high hopes for this place given that they have a Michelin star, but it just missed the mark for me. I have been to a few Michelin star restaurants around the world so I had some high expectations and maybe that was my fault. First of all, the restaurant is actually a little bit confusing to find since the parking garage is co-located next to a a hotel. It wasn't clear to me if the restaurant did valet or not or maybe we missed it. They do validate parking. From an ambience perspective we were greeted and all the staff were nice. It is a little bit dark and cozy with an upscale yet relaxed vibe. It looks like you can come in and just sit at the bar and order drinks as well. The folks at the bar were pretty loud so it kind of distracted from our intimate dinner if that is what you're looking for. In terms of the the food, the tasting menu was okay. They do a great job of of having a variety of different flavors, textures, and presentations in all of their dishes. However, the only two dishes that really blew me away was the salmon appetizer bite and one of the lime centric desserts on the sweeter side of the menu. I do give them kudos for trying exotic unique flavors. However, I think some of them just didn't mix well for my palette, so this might just be my personal taste. Because of this, I found the overall experience expensive for some dishes that I didn't even really like. I also had an upset stomach later that night and threw up, I don't know if it was from the seafood or something else but clearly my body did not enjoy it. I've been to other Michelin star restaurants that are lower priced that tasted better to me. I even upgraded my tasting menu with the wagyu dish and it still didn't blow me away. We also had some confusion with how the tasting menu was set up thinking that the wagyu dish was an add-on and not a substitution. I wish they would change their printed menu to explicitly state that it's a substitution because it was pretty confusing and made our night start off on a negative tone that was hard to come back from. I likely won't come back given the high price point and lackluster tasting experience

The evening was entirely delightful. The space & ambiance was perfect, staff friendly and professional and outstanding 8 course menu. The stand outs were the bread (lol), halibut, truffle risotto (add on), & wagyu beef (add on). On top of it all, Gracie the sommelier is a rock star who went over the top with her warmth and fantastic service. We even received a two bottle wine package in our hotel room the next evening from the restaurant!. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience. Atlanta done right!

Lazy Betty is Phenomenal! Just absolutely amazing! I have gone twice: both for their spring menu and each time we came away almost in tears from how good the food is. This past trip was made especially special by Benjamin (the sommelier) and Anthony (our server). They were kind and patient with us, and added in so many small touches to make our experience truly memorable. I would love to come back each season to taste what the chef has to offer. You will not be disappointed! The experience takes about 3 hours so bring someone you can laugh with, and have a good time!

Fantastic ingredients and cooking techniques from around the world. I'm giving it 5 stars specifically for locals as I can't fault anything except for lacking a wow factor or hyper local focus that would make it travel worthy for those of us coming from out of town. The food is delicious, diverse (European and Asian influences along with contemporary American), service is great. Price is commensurate with the quality and listed price includes 20% service but not sales tax. Easy walk from Midtown MARTA.

Really good tasting menu. I found the service to be exceptional. I didn't get many pics but this is a super cute and sexy restaurant!

Wow this was my first time at a michelin star and I was blown away to say the least. First of all, let me say that this is the BEST FOOD I have ever had IN MY LIFE. My friend treated me out to celebrate my master's degree graduation and it was special. The asparagus. I literally can't describe it. The texture was so unique yet perfect. I didnt know it could taste that good. They mocktail was solid. The blue fin roll was not just my taste preference but incredible. Everything on this menu is meant to amuse you and entertain you. Its so fun! If I had one critiques, the duck stuffed squash blossom was pretty salty for me. The "dumpling" snow crab was also insane. If I lived in Atlanta, i would come back here again for sure to celebrate a special event. Justified!!!

We were excited to be back in Atlanta, especially since we used to live in Georgia before. When we left, there were no Michelin-star rated restaurants here -- so it's really nice to see that there are now a few. The ambience is classy, elevated, and feels special from the moment you walk in. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us well throughout the evening. We chose the tasting menu. We've done many tastings and omakases before -- and while this one may not rank at the very top for us, it was still enjoyable and worth trying at least once for the experience. The highlight of the night was the olive-fed Wagyu add-on. Truly exceptional. Melt-in-your-mouth and definitely the standout dish. Overall, a beautiful setting and great elevated dining experience in Atlanta -- worth checking out at least once.

Over I had high expectations coming here because I heard good things about this place. Someone had previously recommended to me this place before they were even Michelin rated. Parking was super convenient in the parking deck and service was great. My favorite dishes were the foie gras with pumpkin perdu and the jasmine granita dessert. Usually foie gras seems very heavy but it was paired perfectly with the persimmon, pumpkin, pecan and buttermilk flavors. The strong jasmine flavor of the granita was refreshing paired with the grapes and curd. I loved the presentation of the amuse bouche and the kiwi was a nice touch of tanginess to the kampachi cold appetizer. The seabass was a little oily for me and the duck entree accompaniment flavors did not stand out. Dessert was also a little too sweet for me. I wish there were more refreshing dishes vs the heavy dishes near the end but overall not bad. For $250 pp though I would have to heavily consider to come back again. Other restaurants for $125+pp seem more reasonable for a similar quality of food.

One of Atlanta's finest, and I can absolutely see why. Every course was a delight, with my favorites being the sturgeon dish with a delicious beurre blanc sauce and dry aged duck with perfectly crisp skin. The yuzu-forward hamachi course layered with flaky rice crackers was also delectable. The techniques and flavors were refined from start to finish, and service was warm!

We had a nice tasting menu at Lazy Betty. Atmosphere and service was enjoyable, quiet, and friendly. The first half of the tasting was amazing, with the corn agnolotti being the best dish. The pasta texture and flavors were perfect! Crab and tuna dish were also great. The Sablefish was a bit disappointing after the stellar first half, being a little bland and slightly overcooked. The duck was too tough and least enjoyable. Desserts were as expected, with the pomegranate granita being a very nice refresher that looked unassuming at first. We would recommend.

Absolutely spectacular Michelin star restaurant in Midtown Atlanta. Came here for my wife's birthday and enjoyed our entire experience. Prior to arriving, we were called by the manager or owner to confirm our meal choice which he recommended the 6 course menu for us first timers. Turns out, it was an excellent choice and left us feeling satisfied and we'll fed. The drinks were excellent as well and we're recommended to us by our excellent server Anthony who was very helpful, friendly, and helped guide us through our meal with great personality. There were other team members who explained some of the courses to us, and they were all very thorough and kind as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent with a nice looking bar that helps balance out the very well designed and not overly crowded restaurant. The entire experience at Lazy Betty was truly a Michelin star worthy experience and my wife and I were both completely satisfied. 5 stars easily and two very enthusiastic thumbs up for Lazy Betty! Thank you to all staff for an exceptional dinner!

Came alone during a business trip. Sat at the bar. Lexie was my bartender and server. She was attentive, friendly and overall just a delight. Ordered a bottle of wine based on the sommelier's recommendation (took half back to hotel with me). Had the tasting menu. Everything on it was delicious and beautifully presented. I enjoyed everything they gave me, and was given hand made cookies as a take away. Lexie was such a gracious host; she even walked me out to show me where I could catch my uber. Rockstar service from her especially. Loved this place, would definitely come back and recommend

Our daughter spent the first few minutes waving at the staff, and they genuinely lit up every time -- such a warm, welcoming vibe right from the jump. Starters We kicked things off with the she‑crab soup, and that's when we knew the meal was going to be special. Tons of rich crab flavor and chunks of crab. The crispy shrimp toast was another hit -- crunchy, savory, and a great pairing with the soup. We also ordered the Baker's Dozen oysters, chef's selection. All 13 were fresh, clean, and briny in the best way. Next up: the Spanish octopus, and honestly... top five octopus dish we've had. Cooked perfectly -- tender, melt‑in‑your‑mouth texture. The salsa macha added just the right amount of heat, and the marcona almonds brought a great crunch with the cilantro, lime, and mint brightening everything up. What a beautifully composed dish. We finished with the Halibut and Lady peas. The Halibut was topped with lobster and served with a lobster butter sauce, chives, and capers. Rich, buttery, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The lady peas (fava beans, asparagus, and a generous mound of blue crab) were another standout. So much flavor, but everything complemented each other instead of competing. One of those sides you keep looking for more of when it's gone. --- Overall Every dish was thoughtful, balanced, and executed at a high level. Service was warm and genuinely kind -- especially with our little one. 10/10 would recommend

Over the years we've seen things decrease especially at the optimist. The hosts were great and they always give us great service but the food had been the lacking the last couple of services where the she crab soup lacked crab, the swordfish over cooked multiple times. This time in particular we ordered the whole lobster and was offered to have it taken out of the shell for us. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. When we got the lobster we got a full tail but one claw and no knuckles. When we addressed with the server, she argued with us that that's how a lobster is and that there could be more meat hidden on the plate. It felt like she thought we were there to just get more food by saying "so what do you want, more meat" but if we had it in the shell we would have received our full portion. The manager on duty tried to make it up to us by comping the lobster but it was more than that. After going back and forth with the server we just wanted the check to leave. The manager on duty insisted to give us the lobster and take it home. The server wasn't very polite and argued with us about the lobster. I wish I remembered the servers name With that said, the amount of money we have spent there over the years, it's unfortunate that that will be our last time going to the Optimist.

Our experience at Virgil's Gullah Kitchen was completely unacceptable from beginning to end. Our waiter disappeared for over 15 minutes after taking our credit card to the register. When he finally returned, he claimed that he had somehow lost our credit card between our table and the register. Let that sink in -- our credit card was in the restaurant's possession, and somehow it disappeared while being handled by our server. To make matters even worse, our check was incorrect, adding another layer of frustration to an already completely unacceptable situation. And then, instead of taking responsibility and resolving the situation appropriately, the waiter had the audacity to give us his personal phone number and tell us to call him to see if he found our credit card. Absolutely not. That is not an appropriate way to handle a customer's financial information or a potentially lost credit card. At that point, the issue was no longer simply poor service, it became a matter of trust, accountability, and basic professionalism. I expect a restaurant to provide good food and service, but above all, I expect my personal property and financial information to be handled responsibly. This experience left me extremely uncomfortable and disappointed. Virgil's Gullah Kitchen needs to seriously address how situations like this are handled and, more importantly, how customer credit cards are being handled by staff! One star is honestly generous. I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.

They couldn't get the temperature quite white because I do love a nice medium pink and obviously in ATL they love their meat well done however, on the second attempt they got it close enough !! So I made my way to the hotel where my staff was staying, and we were seated at the restaurant inside. I flipped over the menu and saw "Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails." I was instantly excited. The food was amazing, and the service--along with the sweet tea--felt like a warm "welcome to the South." Next time I'm in ATL for work, this is exactly where I'll be. Th bites were a smidge over salted, but good nonetheless. The sweet tea definitely did what it was supposed to do. Things that need improvement: The cornbread was served on a bed of honey and drizzled with butter yet it was dry. No doubt reheated. As someone who bakes a beautiful honey butter cornbread, I was unbelievable disappointed, and underwhelmed. Now let's talk service: Absolutely . Train your staff to be attentive. My waitress was sweet, but every time I needed her I had to call someone else to fetch her and she only had two tables. The restaurant was empty otherwise. Hire staff who can regulate their emotions. The bartender was all over the place, cussing, spewing frustrations about another colleague. Then a new bartender came and he was spewing frustrations about the previous bartender. It wasn't appropriate for a place of business.

We managed to shift gears quickly and made a reservation on OpenTable. When we arrived, there was a crowd and a slight wait. Once seated, we were greeted by Landon. She was great! She was very personable and made our dining experience enjoyable. We were very hungry, so we didn't hesitate to order. We both got pancakes; I chose the buttermilk pancakes, and my husband went with the cinnamon cream pancakes. He also added a side of crispy potatoes, and we both swapped the bacon for chicken sausage. Additionally, we enjoyed an old-fashioned, a boozy salted caramel Cappacinco, and a St. Cecilia mimosa. Everything was delicious, and we also listened to the violist performing during brunch. The live musical performance is always a plus during brunch. Saints + Council is always a reliable brunch spot! They also validate parking for two hours. If you're looking for a great brunch option, be sure to check them out!

It's true what they say: you have to ask the locals if you want to find a truly scrumptious meal! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was absolutely stunning. The restaurant is elegant, refined, and beautifully designed, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Our server, LeNarus, provided impeccable service throughout the meal. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations that elevated the entire experience. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. My favorites were the fried green tomatoes, the tomato basil bruschetta, the whipped formaggio, and the lemon miso salmon, which was cooked to perfection. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and paired perfectly. The Hugo cocktails were also exceptional: refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. I honestly wish I could come here every day! If you're looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a sophisticated atmosphere, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!
