I've heard many good things about Avacado so I was excited to finally get out and try it. Overall the food was good, but I think there are better Mexican options in the area and I would not go out of my way for this location. The highlight of the different items we tried has to be the chimichanga. That was definitely a hit, and I would order it again if I returned. Stopped in here to have a bite after riding the trail in celebration on our Disney vacation. The service was exceptional, we had a very attentive server who made sure all our needs were met and then some. The location is great for people watching and chatting up the locals as they walk by with their dogs. But the food was the real highlight! I had the birria tacos and they were quite possible the best I've ever had. The beef was soo tender and flavorful and the consome had a sweet smoky flavor that made me want to just drink it as soup. This is a really cute little Mexican place in a really really. It's little town. It's right along the water and it's got a nice little patio with a pretty view. We popped in for brunch at the Bohemian but it was closed for a wedding. This looked cute so we popped in for a snack. The patio was nice. It was a gorgeous day. The chips were good. The queso was really good. The guacamole was very fresh but needed some flavor. Salt or something. It was kinda bland. We ordered the chicken quesadilla. The guy almost sent my husband to the ER on our last day on vacation. He brought us shrimp quesadilla instead and my husband took a bite before even realizing. Thankfully he realized as soon as he bit into it and spit it out. Close call for sure. Once we got the chicken quesadilla it was pretty good. The food here is always top notch. We've been a few times and love it every time. The service is good as well. They have a lot of tables so when it's busy just be patient but they're normally pretty good at coming back to you. I love that it's right in the heart of Celebration and on the sidewalk. read more

Celebration area is just a great location to walk around and enjoy scenic views. The restaurant is in a perfect spot with high traffic flow. Parking is a bit difficult and may require some time to find street parking, and if/when you do find one, may be a few blocks away. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly, but unfortunately the food did not meet expectations. Considering the restaurant is named Avocado, the guacamole appetizer did not have flavor; lacked salt and lime. This was the only time my family did not even finish the bowl. The other dishes lacked the same flavor. Needed salt or lime. The street corn was soupy, almost like they used frozen corn and did not drain the water after cooking. I really wanted to like the restaurant, but the food is the main thing for me. This might just be a spot to get cervezas. I hope you have a better experience. read more

Good food but it doesn't balance out the lousy service and charge for chips and salsa. First - Mexican restaurants should give you free chips and salsa. I could've overlooked that if everything else was excellent, but it was not. Basically, we barely ever saw our waiter - it took him ages to come back each time and when he was there, he was very brusque and unhelpful. I ordered a steak burrito which was a good size and the mix of sauces actually was very tasty. I felt better about this experience after eating, but then the wait for the check started... then we got the checks; and waited another 10+ minutes before I finally got fed up and took the checks to the bar to cash out. I can probably count on one hand the number of times in my life I've had that long of a wait for a waiter to come back. My advice - keep your cooks, hire a more efficient wait staff, and this will be a 100x better experience. read more

This is a very Americanized and poorly executed culinary offering. It seems to be popular place and it is convenient to anyone who lives in or is visiting someone in Celebration. Service was OK, but again, the food was not very good. If you are in the mood for good Mexican, I wouod recommend venturing out of Celebration and heading to one of the more authentic Mexican restaurants in the Kissimmee area. All in all, I would only give this place two stars and I could not in good conscience recommend here for a good Mexican meal. I mean, I love Mexican food and feel that life is way too short to eat mediocre Mexican food. Go seek a mom-and-pop Mexican restaurant and you will see what I mean. Again, two stars. read more

Let me preface this by saying Avocado is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Has been since new management years ago and now with renovation and new menu it is even better. Best Mexican food in the area bar none. If you have not gone in and tried the new special Birria taco you absolutely are making a huge mistake. A 15 hour braised short rib and three amazing tacos you will not have anything better tasting in the town of Celebration. The rest of the menu is outstanding and it's shaping up to be a great sports bar for football season. Arroz con pollo is also amazing. Birria it's a classic Mexican dish that you will not find in very many Mexican restaurants due to the effort it takes to prep it. As a family of 5 we went here on a Monday afternoon at 1:30. They were not busy at all. The only service we got was one of the two servers sat us at a table inside. Though the two servers repeatedly walked by us and one even acknowledged us by telling us the other server would be by soon, our server never came to our table. The steak in my quesadilla, the yellow rice and black beans which accompanied my meal had NO flavor. Not even salt or a little spice. My mom's chicken was tasteless as well. I don't understand how an owner or chef can serve food without tasting what goes our of their kitchen to the guest assuming that they would want to return or tell their friends about the awesome delicious meal they had at their restaurant. The best thing about this restaurant is the location. They have a really great outdoor space, overlooking the town of Celebration and the lake. Beyond that, everything at Avocado is mediocre. I was bummed that there wasn't more items that used avocado, since it is in the name. I think I would have been happy with a slice as a garnish to tie things together, but that did not happen either. Overall, I got classic enchiladas, which were fine. I wasn't particularly hungry when I left, partially due to the chips/salsa that were provided when we arrived. But, again, nothing is stellar. I am only picking a 3 because we cannot pick half stars, but really I would say 3 1/2. This is a small local restaurant in the heart of Celebration. I have been to this area numerous times and never tried it. What I love most is its quaintness and also that it is a local spot. This is a Mexican restaurant with tables outside and inside. They do have a full bar. There were 4 of us and we each tried a different margarita. They were all delicious. My favorite was mine, the Blue Agave. However, my husband had the avocado and that was delicious as well. The food was a nice variety, typical Mexican favorites, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. I chose the cheese enchiladas with red sauce. The reason I only gave it a 3.5 is the cheese in the enchiladas were not even melted. The sauce and the tortilla was warm but cheese was cold. It really kind of ruined it. I should have sent it back but I didn't want to make a scene in front of our friends. I still ate it and it tasted pretty good. I would order it again but maybe well done. They do give you chips and salsa for the table and I really enjoyed the salsa. There seemed to be a lot of selections and I would like to go back and try it again. It was actually completely packed, every table full, by the time we left. This is a great little local place, not a big chain. I would definitely try it out and I know we will be back. Update...Avocado is now open with outside seating. We enjoyed our margaritas and nachos after our walk yesterday. We drove to Celebration to walk our dogs and take in the beautiful scenery. A few of the restaurants were offering take-out, but we saw a few people getting drinks to go at Avocado Mexican Grill. For the bikers, the drinks looks like a juice pouch with a straw. We decided to get a couple of Mango Margaritas, which made the day so much better and a little festive during quarantine. read more
