Restaurant is located within the RED Lion Hotel. This restaurant has potential to be a good restaurant but it's not there yet. I enjoyed the music that was played while waiting for food, songs from the 80s and 90s. The best thing I enjoyed from this meal, was the tortilla chips, which had seasoning and they were warm. The entrees included the Rica Sampler. This platter had 2 chicken empanadas, 2 quesadillas and 2 mini marinated beef tostadas. Our second entree was Burrito Ranchero. It was to include Marinated Beef , rice and refried beans. The refried beans were puréed to mush. The was also included with the burrito. So the burrito had no flavor.I also asked for beef and got a chicken burrito The Mexican rice was ok. The other pet peave I had, was nats kept flying around trying to land on my food . The door to the restaurant door was open. The server was very nice but was having trouble with register reading card. This took about 15 - 20 minutes to get transaction closed. My first Yelp Elite event of the year and I'm so glad I was able to get in. Greet me with a delicious drink I'm all in and let me tell ya that watermelon margarita was DELICIOUS!! The weather was perfect while we sat outside enjoying chips and salsa with live entertainment. This place is really cute and I would take the drive to come back more often. Started out with apps (chicken flautas, chicken empanadas, and cheese quesadillas). The server was amazing she took care of our every need. I ordered the Carne Asada Steak that steak was amazing...I was able to cut it with a BUTTER KNIFE seasoned just right with flavorful rice. This place is attached to our hotel, decided to try them out. Glad we did, did not disappoint! We arrived just as Happy Hour was starting, we were seated right away and chips & salsa were brought out. The chips were nice and warm, the salsa was very tasty. Ordered the 2 chicken empanadas with a queso dip to start, so good! The Mexican street corn was also very good. For the main I ordered 3 street tacos, beyond delicious! Our waitress was beyond friendly as was the rest of the staff! Updated to add went again the following day also and ordered off the happy hour specials- everything was wonderful! After reading tons of positive reviews, we decided to give Tortilla Rica a try...but, sadly, our experience wasn't nearly as favorable as others have had. First, there were only a few tables with patrons when we arrived, but there were many, many dirty tables. The hostess said it would be at least 15 minutes before she could clean a table for us. Since we weren't in a rush and the reviews were favorable, we decided to wait it out. We waited the solid 15 minutes, but she didn't clean all the tables, just the one for us - it was odd. There are a lot of options on the menu, but I settled on tacos, clearly a Mexican staple. They came out quickly, but are nothing to be excited about. The waitress forgot our chips/salsa, but did bring it out when she realized (when she brought the food). Overall, I don't need to try it again, the food was mediocre and there are much better Mexican restaurants around town that have better service and food. read more

Before I get started discussing about the quality of the food here I must say the service is quite admirable. In particular, Alberto whom was our waiter was very attentive and sociable. Definitely made us feel welcomed! This establishment has great potential as the owners have such a deep story that is admirable. Now, let's get started about the food. Presentation wise it looked great. Portions are more than generous and the quality of the food is great! However, the seasoning for the steak and chicken was very salty, which is a shame since you know the quality of the ingredients is palatable. This is still fairly a new restauraunt so there are a lot of room for change. Was able to address this area of concern to Alberto and he was very understanding. You can tell he is passionate about working here and what comes out of the kitchen. Overall I do recommend eating here as they do have a phenomenal happy hour. Their drinks are quite tasty especially the watermelon margarita which came out very refreshing. After working out a few kinks this will definitely become one of the leading Mexican restauraunts in Orlando one day! read more

We've been eating here for breakfast during our Disney World vacation. Very clean, friendly staff and a great breakfast buffet. We've had breakfast at a few different places while here but this has been the best and has brought us back a few times now. We were the only people in there (3) people. we were in there for what seemed like FOREVER. It was 62 degrees in the building. We asked to sit outside under the covered up area bc it was raining. This place has a great happy hour between 5 and 7, which we discovered serendipitously. Because the restaurant is connected to the hotel we are staying in, and the water park had to shut down temporarily due to lightning. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. The service was great and the price didn't break the bank in a resort town, which is a rarity. I would suggest coming here to anyone who is debating whether or not they should. I will start by saying the food was quite good. We had tacos and they were large portions and fairly priced. We were staying at the red lion after a long day of Disney and we were far too tired to leave the hotel, so we ended up here for dinner around 830 PM on a Sunday night. There were maybe 2 or three other tables in the entire restaurant and 2 people at the bar. Our waitress was sweet and tried her best, but she was very overwhelmed. The food came out in a decent amount of time but We didn't get our drinks (waters) until We were nearly done with our food. My boyfriend ordered a beer and the server tried to bring it over after we had already finished eating so he didn't want it any more ( he wanted to enjoy a beer with his meal). When our server brought it back to the bar we saw the manager yell at her right there on the floor in front of customers. We saw her yell at another server as well on the floor. We then saw the manager put the cap back on the opened beer and put it BACK in the fridge !? I was totally shocked and appalled by this managers behavior during the entire night. Overall, the food was good but there are some definite issues with the management and service here. Our waitress didn't know that a sam Adams was a type of beer and the hostess was sweeping the floor inches from me as I was eating. There's some definite training to be done with front house staff. Very frustrating when I order 3 beef enchiladas for my children and receive 3 cheese quesadillas. THEN Order Two beef and cheese soft tacos and get like 5 "steak" tacos . Wow! Hidden secret in Orlando area! May be connected to a hotel but not your average hotel/bar establishment. Stopped in for a "snack". Annette was our server and she blew us away with customer service and her warm personality. She made some great recommendations for drinks and appetizers. She took the time to chat and joke a bit with us. Loved the fresh tasting salsa and the queso (had a little kick... really good, not just your plain white cheese dip). The street corn was so tasty. The empanadas were stuffed and had a great flavor.. We left so full! Only here for a few more days but trying to figure out how to get back for a full meal before we leave! read more

I went with a friend for lunch. We ordered the Nachos to share and they were wonderful. The order came out on a small plate and I didn't think there was enough, but there was. We had the marinated Chicken and it wasn't spicy but had tons of flavor. I gave it 4 stars because the Flan sauce was burned and they couldn't get me a flan without the sauce. I will go back though. I came to Tortilla Rica for the second time to introduce my mom to their delicious "carne asada" dish I tried a few weeks ago during a Yelp event. I was super excited to order the juicy steak and have a nice lunch. To my surprise, the piece of steak I've got was a lot thicker and had more fat than the first time I had it. The worst Mexican food I have ever tried. This was our first day in Florida, and this place happened to be by our Airbnb so we decided to give it a try. As soon as we walked in, we only saw one group in the entire restaurant. That right away should've been a red flag, but we decided to stay anyway. Despite not being busy, the bartender was the one that came to our table to take our order. He took our drink and appetizer order, and served our drinks shortly after. I ordered the traditional mojito and it was very sweet. I couldn't really taste the alcohol and the sweetness was too much. Next, our ceviche appetizer came out. It was a mango shrimp ceviche. It was okay, but as we got further into it, we saw that they added Arcadia blend or spring mix to the ceviche. I have never seen ceviche with it and it totally did not go with the flavor. By the end of it, we only ate the shrimp and left most of the mango and spring mix. Next our entrees came out. We had both ordered the chicken tacos with rice and beans. The beans were SUPER SALTY and the rice tasted as if it was Uncle Bens Spanish Rice. Thankfully the chicken tacos were OKAY, but everything else was not good. We mentioned this to our server and he asked if he could get us something else, but seeing how bad all of our food was, we didn't want to bother with something else. He dropped off the check and the hostess later came to pick up the check. We mentioned to her how bad our food was and she gave us a small discount (about $5). She said the food was California Mexican food, but we are from California and have had bad Mexican food but this was by far the worst experience in terms of food quality. Although our food itself wasn't good, the staff there was very friendly and understanding. The venue also looked spacious but lacked customers. I personally don't think it is worth the price and regret stepping into the restaurant. read more

We ordered beef tacos off of their menu and it came out as steaK tacos (which tasted like dog food) they said "we don't have ground beef." no one ate any of them and the manager was EXTREMELY rude andRefused to take them off the bill because they were "touched" lol. Third day the waitress got my order correct, but was not allowed to access the till for change, so I had to wait 15 minutes for the manager, not long, but when you are late....Fourth day, didn't order anything, just drink the hotel coffee with the family, but was charged for the buffet breakfast. When I asked the unkind waitress, it was my fault for not telling her I was not having breakfast, maybe she should ask next time, versus assuming. Ate here tonight, and it was definitely delicious. My family loved the salsa, it was great. I had to add some hot sauce to it bc I like mine spicy, but it had a great fresh flavor. I had the chicken fajitas, husband had carne asada, and kids had enchiladas. It was all really really good. The beans and rice were a little bland, but I see on here that people have complained of saltiness, so I appreciate a business who listens to customers. I would MUCH rather just add salt than something be too salty, so that's no problem at all. The chicken was so tender I could cut it with a fork. It was definitely better than I expected and I really don't understand the bad reviews. I would definitely eat here again, and would recommend it. We had dinner here and the waitress named Cassandra gave us really good service, she was very attentive, friendly, and pleasant. She knew the menu good and recommended items. The food was good value for the price. For two mornings, we have been served by supervisor Anette, she is superb, very pleasant, friendly, and always makes you feel like you are family. She is always checking to ensure we are happy with the service and food and if we need anything else.
