Ordered takeout today. They had a special bogo on shrimp tempura rolls. Picked up my order and there was only one in the bag the girl at the counter wasn't aware of the bogo. Completely empty restaurant turned away customers. Was on a road trip and stopped in to try and use restroom in a completely empty restaurant. They said customers only and I asked what I can buy to let my little daughter use the restroom. They refused to serve or sell us anything and turned us away. Again middle of the day not 1 single customer inside and they wouldn't take any of my business to let my child use the restroom. Loved this place !!!! Came during lunch and literally still here as I'm writing this review. I ordered the hot girl maki roll (is a tad spicy as advertised) from the signature lunch menu and spicy shrimp and avocado roll. Price was sooooo worth it and it came with soup and salad. The Thai ice tea was also a win (only $3) not too sweet and didn't overwhelm the taste buds haha. My fiancé and I came around 3:45p and its still super quiet so it was really nice to have the place to ourselves but we will definitely come back for dinner to check back what it's like. Forreal though we've officially found our new fav sushi spot (for lunch until we come back for dinner) Our waitress was also super attentive to us the receipt says "waiter 1" lol but she said her name was Icy. Last week our family had a chance to eat at Avocado sushi on Forest Avenue Staten Island. It was our first time eating here since we generally go to Kyoto, Sayori or Tokyo for my meals. Kyoto sushi fills their rolls with avocado so I was becoming bored with the mushiness of the fools. Tokyo is ok but their rolls sometimes falls apart before you can eat them. And when Sayori lost their best chef Carlos, we never ate their again. Our family heard in the community that Avocado was good so we all decided to give it a try. First of all, the decor is sweet and the service was excellent. The waitress was attentive and made sure that we ordered in a reasonable time. When the food hit the table the presentation was simply beautiful! We ordered the salmon skin salad, sushimi lunch special, spicy tuna rolls, salmon hibachi, pepper tuna and spicy mussels. Everything was great and the salad and pepper tuna was incredible! So good in fact that we visited avocado three days last week, twice for lunch and once for dinner. There was a longer wait for food during dinner because there was only one chef. But the food did not disappoint. This is now my first stop for sushi. read more

Stopped in for lunch and ordered 3 rolls - spicy kani, eel avocado & salmon avocado. Came with salad and miso soup - awesome! Everything was really great! Fresh and delicious...I gobbled it up! I was very skeptical of this spot because of their sketchy-looking reviews... One of their deleted reviews was giving 5 stars and was written with gibberish. Their food is good for their prices-- and is almost comparable to one of the best spots (in my opinion) on the island. The service was alright. The waitress was a bit rude and talked in a rushed tone even though the store was almost empty. This is unrelated to the store but the parking lot is designed horribly. Alright. So this is my second visit at another location. Overall food is 4-5 stars. Service is great 5 stars. Delicious sushi even delicious rock shrimp, steak bento box. I mean the list goes on and on. One of my favorite rolls was the naruto roll, the roll is riceless wrapped in cucumber. All in all I would go back to this location over the one in hylan. The only reason I am rating this 4 stars instead of 5 is because they kept this video on loop on their tv of children getting cleft palette surgery. This place is awesome, always consistent. For delivery they are rapid, usually arriving about 10 to five minutes before the given time. Food is transported neatly and intact. For in-house experiences, the restaurants are all clean and well maintained. Service is friendly and pretty straightforward. You're not rushed, but they don't move slow either. They let you enjoy your experience. Would recommend the avocado bowl! I was not expecting it to be what it was and was delightfully surprised. New spot in my hood and while we usually frequent Miyabi, we had to give this place a try. We hit this place on a Friday for a late lunch. The restaurant offers lunch specials until 4pm. We ordered a bento box of chicken katsu and a sushi & sashimi lunch combo. Pics are below. The service was efficient and friendly. The presentation of food was great and everything tasted delicious. Next time we will bring the kid as they play lots of Ariana Grande. The restaurant is clean and modern although I didn't check out the restroom on this visit. Regarding the parking comment by another reviewer, I agree; it's not an ideal small lot but there's street parking surrounding the restaurant. We will return for sure! read more

We were thrown off by the banana in the Pink Lady roll, and the rainbow roll was mostly cucumber with a tiny bit of faux-crab meat. It looked fresh but didn't taste fresh, and the texture of the rice was off - either falling apart or much too firm. A worker was refilling the side spicy Mayo sauce cups, she spilled some on the table and wiped it up With a tissue, wiping the sauce that dropped on the table into a sauce cup. she then poured "fresh" sauce from a squirt bottle on top of the sauce that she already wiped off the table into the cup. I absolutely love this place! My boyfriend and I have been here twice and have nothing but good things to say ! The first time I went I got the Philadelphia roll and the peanut avocado roll. Both delicious! The second time I the Maki roll combo which gives you a choice of miso soup or salad and 3 sushi rolls. I chose the Spicy Tuna, Spicy California, and Peanut avocado roll (this combo option really comes with a Spicy Tuna, a Spicy California, and a Spicy Kani Roll but I was able to substitute one of the rolls for an extra dollar).
