Steak tacos and Al pastor quesadillas

Wow, This is what I needed! I'm from Chicago and have been looking for a good taco place. I finally found an authentic one right here in Avon!

This one, while tiny, carries all the essentials and includes a meat counter and small produce section. The staff was very friendly and tried to help me translate fruit. They carried my favorite standard brand of peppers and spices. They carried a large selection of hot sauces. The meats looked fresh and interesting. There was an interesting selection of Latin American sodas and beverages, can goods and rice. The shelves were neat and tidy. Religious items including handmade rosaries were available near the front check out counter. The steps into the store are a little clunky and the aisles are tight. I'm guessing not ADA standards but I am not an expert. Great little store for specialty items.

The one that wears a mask will tell me to move out of the way if there was a problem with the self checkout register, like today. I was explaining to her what was happening and she just interrupted me to say I got it. Today was a grand reopening. This morning there were so many more people there. It breaks my heart that there are so many people that can't even look you in the eye and say hello or even smile. They had groups of people that were not customers standing around talking to each other, but would not engage with the customers. Outside, there are little booths with products. I walked out there after I filled my cart up and paid and not one of them said hello to me. They were all too busy talking amongst themselves. What happened to being people friendly. I did not grab any of their free products. Today the store was cleaner than I've ever seen it. It disheartens me and people don't have the heart to even just say hello or smile. It's like a bunch of robots. All these people that are there for the grand reopening will eventually go back to wherever they work. There are people out there who need someone just say hello. I hope whoever is reading this thinks about others even if it's just for a second.

The pasty inside of a cherry pie. No fresh type cherry filling. Nasty. It's always this way. What a waste.
