Since we were more or less satisfied with the previous move (except what i omitted from my last review - that the leg of a very expensive vintage cabinet was broken and no form of compensation was granted), we recently contracted AW Nationwide Movers for another house move (from Chatt Hills into Atlanta). Overall the job was done well but some of it could be done more professionally; for example a big deep wide hole to the wall in one place on the staircase after Allen told his guy to hurry up getting a big furniture up the stairs; but above all, and what prompts me now to edit my review (otherwise I wouldn't), is the following, that REALLY GETS ME MAD: shortly before moving we bought a new, EXCELLENT, EXPENSIVE king size bed for our master bedroom, since our old bed was screeching with every slight turn so it was hard to sleep. Our new bed was dead quiet and durable and finally it was easy to sleep on it. Recently we've noticed the bed started responding very loudly to every tiny move of the body on it. You can't turn or move on it without a loud noise, probably even louder than the previous bed. Terrible. And indeed it rocks like a rocking chair. So i called a handiman who tried to fix it but managed to only improve it some - reduced the noise and the rocking to about a half of what it was which is still a bummer; he told us it is BEYOND FIXING - there is only so much that he could tighten the screw, because, he said, the movers that last re-assembled this bed broke the screw hole and no screw will fit there and there's nothing that can be done about it!!!Based on my experience last time I am not even trying to ask for compensation from Allen, but mad about the destruction of such a new expensive amazing beautiful bed we were so happy we had purchased, i feel bound to add this edit to my review! And regarding being cheaper than others: i don't really think it's true. 1. Another less than professional feature of the service is that it somehow ends up being more expensive than the initial quote and i am not referring to the obvious tips that we are always happy to give the hard working day-laborers but to being asked for more money than the initial quote because of this and that, something i believe a more professional company wouldn't do. 2. Irrepairable damage to your most important, really expensive furniture! By the way, to fix the wall and re-assemble some furniture that they didn't have the time to complete re-assembling, at the end of the moving day Allen said he would send me another handiman he works with the next day, he gave me his contact to contact him and schedule this, indeed that handiman came and did the job but what do i learn then? That his job wasn't included in the payment i paid Allen - i had to pay him separately! So: It's better to contract a bigger and more accountable company that won't damage your property and will conduct themselves in a more professional manner. Make sure to work with a company that has its own full-time, long-time employees, as opposed to per-project laborers (simply one way of telling a professional company from a less than professional one). read more

It's been 9 months and Allen still have not paid me for damages caused by his crew managed by his nephew. He called the night before move and said he would unavailable but he would be sending his best to take care of move. Allen should also have paid me to move cause I had to work as hard the men he found to work. Then he has the nerve to come as they finished job at almost midnight and suggest the tips. Run away from this man cause he is puts on a good show in selling the job but he and crew were not reliable! He allures you with personality and kindness to get the job and then you will experience irresponsible and incompetent Allen! read more

Alan, the proprietor of this company came to our old house to check out the amount of items to move to our new home. Having decided upon a 26ft. truck,4 movers, and a trailer for the day, a contract was signed!! Needless to say, ONLY 3 movers showed up for the day and NO trailer ever came!!! Even though the 3 movers worked non stop(after arriving 3 hours late!!!), it took an extra day and another 26ft. truck to complete the move!!! We did not receive the contracted service that was agreed upon by Alan and my wife and myself!!!! Very disappointed in the lack of honesty displayed by this company!!! My treasured home office desk was damaged beyond repair( a small deduction was made from the final bill.) Also, Alan called us at 10:00PM the night of our second day of moving. WE WERE IN BED!!! Our general contractor recommended this company and we were blown away by the professionalism and great attitudes of our 6 person crew. We moved an apartment and 10x20 storage unit into our new home and no one item was damaged or broken. They took care to wrap and secure each item. Talk about professional, this company is all that. I've had horrible moving experiences in the past, and I must say that Allen was true to his word. It was a stressful move for me from Georgia to Wisconsin. I drove all the way with Allen's help guiding me, I made it safely. There was never an issue and he did a GREAT job. Would never use this company again. We hired Allen and his company because he was recommended by a friend and everything went well until his movers showed up the day of the move. First thing, one mover showed up with a "friend" who helped him with the move for a two bedroom large loft apartment. The next day the same one mover showed up with his "nephew" to deliver our things, which says to me that this company does not have a professional staff. Second, the movers damaged the floor panels on the wooden floors in the first apartment, which in turn had to be completely replaced because of the damage. We notified the owner of the property, who also communicated with Allen and after receiving an estimate Allen agreed to have the floors fixed after calling him numerous times. Shortly afterwards we all tried to contact Allen again and again about the floor and suddenly he stopped responding to our messages or calls. We had to threaten him with a lawyer to finally get a response, which led to him telling us he didn't have insurance with his company to cover the floors. It's been over 3 months and we still haven't received any communication from Allen which has in the end led to us losing our security deposit with our landlord in order to cover the costs of the floors. We should have seen the red flags when he increased the quote he originally gave us, and after giving him a security deposit he continued to ask us to pay the balance early to cover supplies. I would not recommend using this company because they are not insured and your things will not be covered if damaged by movers who aren't really movers. As a business owner in the customer service industry, this is the most unprofessional company and individual I've ever worked with. read more

Allen Williams and his crew were great! I moved from Sandy Springs and they were on time to move out my things and on time to move in my things in Houston TX. They took care to wrap my furniture some of which are antiques. Everything arrived intact and unbroken. They were recommended by a Sandy Springs U-Haul place. They are much more responsive than the big moving companies who will not give you a definite move out and move in time like Allen did. read more
