I made the grave mistake of not doing my homework prior and not listening to other medical providers recommendations. Other medical providers in the Seacoast area kept telling me they highly recommend and only refer to Dr. Scannell and they personally had never heard of Dr. Slocum. I, unfortunately, did not listen and chose Dr. Slocum due to him presenting as very confident and selling me on the fact that he could "help me". I am 12-months post op and my outcome is worse than when I came to him. I will need to go another provider to help support me in addressing the damage done, if it can be at this point. If my post can give at least one person cause for pause, I can sleep better at night. Please, please, do your research and choose a surgeon with extensive experience in the procedure you want and can demonstrate a very high number of positive outcomes (with hundreds and hundreds of photos on their website), not just one who sells you on themselves. Ask all of the questions up front and consult locally on who other medical providers recommend. I did not listen and paid the price. The tummy tuck he did perform made my stomach look even worse than what I started with. He did not pull the skin tight enough which left me with a shelf of loose skin above the horizontal incision he just didn't pull the skin tight enough as he should have. He also ruined my bellybutton, usually the incision is hidden inside the belly button so it's not as noticeable, he just went right around it on the outside with a diamond shaped cut and left very visible scar. He also did not perform the muscle repair like he said he would. He had the audacity to tell me at my 3 month appointment that what I was pointing out to him was a "bone" and not a separation in my muscles, acting like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about. He said that he did was he was supposed to do and then said he no longer needed to see me after that appointment. I'd also like to note that they never checked in on my after my surgery to see how I was doing and I was never given a phone # to call/text him if I had any issues. I was lucky enough to find another surgeon to fix his mistakes in April, 2023 and apparently, had a very bad hernia, which was not mentioned at all during Dr. Gray's appointments. Based on what he did to me, I think Dr. Gray is past his prime when it comes to performing extensive surgeries. If I could give this doctor 0 stars, I would. Save your money and find another surgeon. The staff was more interested in getting me out the door rather than ensure my well being after coming out of surgery. I was still heavily sedated as they wheeled me out the door. The scars from the surgery were hideous and I had to pay a dermatologist for laser treatment to reduce the scarring. I suffered from severe contracture of my left breast. When I went back to Gray's office, all they told me to do was to keep massaging them. Had another plastic surgeon correct the issue and I should add the scars from that surgery were non existent! I highly recommend seeing a plastic surgeon who is associated with a hospital.

Doctor missed one spot to remove fat tissues even though I specially asked to remove that spot before the surgery because it was start to forming on left corner. Doctor performed surgery fast, so I hardly had any bruises around my eyes. Well, I rather have some bruises than fat tissues left. Bruises will fade off but fat tissues will not! He offered me to have a surgery again but the situation is not allowed to spare at least a week off work for surgery. It cost a lot of money, but result is not really satisfied.

I had a terrible experience with one of them, he basically made reconstruction sound like no big deal, no need for physical therapy and showed me tear drop shaped implants. I decided to get a second opinion on this "too good to be true" reconstruction. I landed in Dr Kalnoki's office, SHE IS THE BEST! Not only did she spend 2 hours with me at my consult, she explained why you need therapy and what shape implants (not the tear drops because they'll flip and you'll have awkward boobs), all about risks and benefits and how to choose whats best for you, as an INDIVIDUAL. She's done a fellowship and has immense knowledge. I woke up from my mastectomy with reconstruction happy as a clam! My breasts look almost identical to before they were removed and redone! Dr K monitored me closely and her office staff, Tammy answers all my questions....Holly helps you schedule and Kris knows about insurance. They are wonderful. Being a gym/swim gorilla they kept me on a tight leash and didn't sugar coat anything. More offices need to be like that! I am going in for some fat-grafting procedures to make sure my breasts are even closer to normal. Dr K takes your own fat and injects it where you have divots and dimples. She has a very keen eye. Dr. Lee and Carly Matthews, his PA, explained every detail of what could happen in surgery, good and bad, in a way where I didn't feel I needed to pull out a medical dictionary. He reiterated at the pre-op appointment and on the day of surgery exactly what he would be removing and re-implanting during the procedure from start to finish and I knew I was in good hands which is always a plus before you entrust a surgeon to make that first cut. I received first rate care from everyone I interacted with starting on the day of the initial consultation at his office as well as with the coordinator who scheduled the surgery, the nurses and Anesthetists on the day of the procedure at the River's Edge 1-Day Surgery Center and then back at the office for post-op care. My husband is in the medical field and looks for faults with providers and their staff but couldn't find any flaws with Dr. Lee and his team. It's been 3 weeks since surgery and I couldn't be happier with the end results as compared to what I had prior to surgery.
