This is not a review for the brewery site in SE Portland, but for their event space downtown which is host to the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. ADB has completed a masterful stroke with its launch of the FWC26 event space downtown. The events are well organized, energized, and the low cost to enter with GA tickets and local beer is the best offer for new and old soccer fans. I was impressed with how "footbally" the space was, and the varied rooms for kids, soccer playing, and shopping merch was a great idea for their business. The food and drink operations are seemless, with quick speed and good guest experiences keeping the beer flowing at any point in the matches. My only feedback would be the restrooms and the capacity - the men's room only has one urinal and one toilet - which is quite horrendous during busy matches. Capacity could absolutely be increased on major match days. We had dozens of friends who wanted to come to the USA home opener, but, it was sold out - despite there being tons more standing room. Sad to see! Overall, we will be back. read more

Away Days is a small brewery with a small indoor seating area, and a medium size outdoor seating area, half covered. They do have sports on the screen including in the outdoor covered area. They have a sports viewing schedule, which they don't follow, but sure you could request your game. The outdoor area is popular with dogs and their companion humans. They are doing well with their brewing, even planning on an expansion and they can their beers too. There is a food cart parked in the outdoor area, not sure the menu for that. I came for a pop up by Williams Good Sandwich / Eat Williams Food. They are a significant piece of fried chicken coated by Williams barbecue sauce. The chicken was perfectly tender and on a good bun. The chicken breading stays crunchy, even when coated by the glistening sauce, and there were some great spicy pickles to go with it. The Williams menu is in the photos. I had a chat with William. He pops up regularly around town as you can find on his socials. His bottled barbecue sauce is still a small business, so not yet in stores. He is a young food entrepreneur to keep an eye on and consider for your events or inviting to pop up near you. read more

Had only two ciders, one in a can which online was described as funky. The one on draft said semi dry but the bartender gave me a taste and wasn't too dry and no weird flavor. So I got a small glass, maybe half a pint for like $5 so not bad. Lots of TVs for sports games. Long tall tables and people willing to share. Nice to have a burger from the food cart outside while being warm and dry with a drink instead. All good in my books. Friendly bartender and friendly patrons. read more

Great little spot tucked into a neighborhood with super welcoming service and delicious beer. My highlight coming here was the fact that they were showing premier league matches at the brewery and the smash burger I had from the food cart in the back. That was probably the best smash burger I've had in Portland. Would highly recommend coming here and picking up a burger and a pint. read more

The bartender was really friendly and let me sample a couple options before deciding. The beer was good. Grabbed a table with a friend and enjoyed our time. Came to this cozy brewery in Buckman. It has a limited amount on tap, but what they have is good. Away Days has gotten many awards. For the quality it's pretty good prices. They still manage to have quite a variety on tap. A small space making it tough for a crowd. It's pretty cramped in here. There's only a few seats at the bar and no tables. Got some of the interesting sounding beers. It's about $7 a pint. Best of these was the Crown And Anchor Cream Ale. This was light and smooth. Have to make an update about this business. It's moving. It's 6am and in search of a place to gather and watch the Olympic Women's quarter final soccer game, USA vs. Japan. Away Days was our spot to start with some coffee and end with a pulled cider. A kind patron brought some delcious donuts, but I'm not here to write about those. Service is excellent, the environment is spacious and clean, allowing for watching some sports on TVs that seem a bit small for my likings as I watch USA move ahead into the semi-finals. I'm pretty sure that if you are stopping by here you are hoping to have some great beer, served by great staff, and enjoy some time with friends or family. Cute little brewery tucked back on a side street in SE Portland. Friendly service and great suggestions because this fickle girl loves everything from hazy to stout. We visited on a sunny Saturday and sat in the back near the super cool mural and Champs Burger food cart. I chose the Cora Pilsner which paired perfectly with my double smash burger. Stopped in before going down to a Timbers game. My boys and I are real into soccer and loved this place! The beers are very good, different than a typical northwest style brewery. They are more English real ale/cask style although they did have 1 IPA. The burger place out back was about the best burger we have ever had. Another great Portland brewery! This city has such a great craft beer scene that it's always super exciting for me to take a trip down here to try out breweries I haven't paid a visit to before and go to beloved ones. This brewery I got something on the lighter side for beer as that was what mainly was compromised of when trying having craft beer down here on my most recent trip. I got their Helles Lager which I really enjoyed. I love lagers and the Helles style is always something that I enjoy drinking. This brewery's version was no exception. It was extremely refreshing and had a good biscuity and nutty flavor to it. It was a very well tasting beer to kick back and relax with. There looked like other promising beer options on tap as well but I didn't get any more as I was trying out several different breweries. This is a nice smaller brewpub in the light industrial area of SE Portland just east of the Hawthorne Bridge. The pub area is very nice, small but bright and decorated with great care. The large garage-door opens for a nice inside-outside seating area, the bar is nice, service is friendly, and it has a comfortable, quiet, relaxed feel. Beer is great quality and they have some cask-conditioned ales as well. We had a dunkel and although it's not as dark as the ones we had in Germany, it was good! They allowed our dog inside and we're glad since it was hot! Service was friendly. Ok....closer to 4.75 stars. Taking a little off because of where the outside seating is, right next to the road. So car fumes were an issue for us last night. The service was awesome!!! Very quick and the gal was very friendly as well. Got a flight of beer to start with, so I could decide what beer I wanted to get a pint of later. I went with the Vienna lager. All the beers that they had on tap were just what they were supposed to be. The food was pretty good but nothing really special. My wife and friends were kind of bummed about the fish and chips being only one piece of fish. But they still enjoyed it nonetheless. I had a scotch egg and a burger. I thought the fries (chips) were a little too well done. They're only open until 8 PM currently but they may be extending their hours once there's more daylight in the evening. They are owned by the place nextdoor so you can continue to imbibe until 10 PM. It's also dog friendly as well so that's a plus. read more

I really, really, really enjoy going to Away Days. The ownership are such a gracious couple who clearly appreciate doing what they do. I was there this weekend for some of the Euro futball games and it sent me back to back in the day when they still had the Toffee Club up & running and we went for the world cup. Their beers are solid and they always have a cider on tap. It's such a chill atmosphere every time we've been in. It really does have a nice European vibe inside. Normally they don't have food other than some funly flavored British crisps that are a delight, but for the Euros they've had available a couple of sandwich options that are heated in the little oven. I had the chicken, bacon, & cheddar ciabatta during the game yesterday and for a quick sandwich, it was really delicious. The Hawthorne asylum carts are a block away and you can bring in outside food also. But man, oh man, that sandwich hit the spot. Given all the inflation we've been seeing, I thought that $10 was a very fair price, especially since it was a heated sandwich and not just straight out of the fridge. I love this place; it is a gem. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Euros there and I'm looking forward to visiting their new space once they upgrade! We stopped in for a little lunch. It's right next to the Toffee Club and same owner. Bright, fun, and whimsical atmosphere. It was not at all busy for a Sunday afternoon. We got a taster tray with the British Rail Summer Ale, Crossbar Radler, Away Days IPA, and Cleats Up IPA. All very tasty! Wow they did a great job capturing the season in these beers. We all ordered pints after the tasting but it was hard to choose! The Spanish chorizo sandwich was delicious. Loved the pickles and pasta salad it came with. The potato chips were nice too, just wish we had a little more of those. The house marinated olives are a must order. They pair well with everything. Great service! We shall return! read more

Been coming here since they opened Labor Day weekend. Super friendly owners, and a good variety of beer that are a little different than those from a lot of the other breweries. Hoppy lager, pale ales, and yes, some IPAs along with bitters, milds, and other styles. Indoor and outdoor seating, and just a chill place to raise a few pints. I always enjoy it here. WOW! Cask ales! Say no more. A real rarity where I live (Bay Area). Everyone needs to brew 100 different variations of an IPA, I guess. Boring! The ESB and Bitter were both excellent, as was the Pale Ale. The fish n chips were delicious and fresh tasting, but a little pricey for the portion of fish.
