Sarah handles most of the communication and she was extremely responsive and patient with all the questions I had. Scheduling an in-house consultation was easy and didn't cost a thing. They came well prepared, with samples of products, took all the measurements, and helped me pick out a variety of roller and zebra shades that matched well with my current decor that were affordable without trying to upsell me on anything fancy or excessive. In fact, they had to talk me out of more expensive options when I inquired about them! They even came back out a second time without hesitation because I had second thoughts about the initial choices and wanted to look at products. You pay a deposit of half the invoice amount for them to order the products, and the other half after they finish installation. Very fair and straightforward. It takes about 2-3 weeks after placing the order for the product shipment to arrive, and my installation was scheduled for a couple days after that. Incredibly quick turnaround. They do everything themselves, including the installation which went smoothly. I had a few motorized shades as part of my order, and they were setup with various groupings and presets and paired well with a remote. They are committed to coming back out in the future if anything needs to be adjusted or fixed, which is very assuring. They even took the time to help me with some lingering items around the house that I have neglected for a long time due to my inability to do it on my own, like changing some light bulbs in high hard to reach places, and moving large pieces of furniture up a flight of stairs! That is something they 100% did not have to do and not part of their job description, but that's simply how sweet and accommodating they are. It turned out to be very positive, with the shades and drapes arriving on time, perfectly measured and installed, and exactly what I was looking for. Lately I needed some minor service. I didn't feel the need to go through the designer, as The Shade Store has a service chat line available. The experience was why the 4 stars. I never heard back and ended up making a call to the store and having to leave a message. Then someone called and went over the problem and said someone would get back to me. Crickets. Then a week later an email from a "Customer Experience" person saying they wanted to troubleshoot over the phone. Fair enough. Then I solved the problem myself. I let him know but never heard back, such as "Great!", or, "Let me know if you have another problem", or...anything. Those crickets again. Service after the sale seems to be the one area The Shade Store should set their sites on improving. The communications were abysmal. I hope they do, as the product is excellent.

It took three months, start to finish, to get new treatments installed on every window in our 1700 square foot house. I have 2 window coverings orders with them and waiting to hear status on when they'll be installed. No one from store is returning calls or communicating about what's going on in their stores. I paid them $6,000.00 and I want a refund especially since it looks like your store is having difficulties.

They are under a mile away so I thought they possibly did, since they are a Graber distributor. I called back and left a message with the address to check if they did the original installation (we have about 20 blinds in all). No one called me back, so I thought I'd swing by their Manchaca location with my damaged blind and see if they could order me a new one. There was no one at the shop despite saying their hours are 8:00-5:00. So I called from the parking lot and got put through their AI hell, which will not let me simply bring the blind in, but insist they come out for a measurement. I HAVE THE BLIND!!!!. - is it too much to ask that I provide to you all the information and the blind and you order me a new one?
