The family enjoyed the ambiance and service at this place. The baseball and football games were on which was a nice bonus. I tried the Frozen Whiskey Coke which was a great balance - the Whiskey taste wasn't too overpowering, but the drink was strong. We all enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and my husband loved the Philly cheesesteak and tater tots. Stopped in on Saturday night around 9pm and they were busy - near capacity so good for Awesome Times A different review described the interior well as it looks like a Chipotle with a bar. This Saturday the live music had the crowd going , that was a definite positive but if your looking to have a conversation the acoustics make it near impossible We sat near the back and ordered the quesadillas, patty melt , cheese burger and I had the Philly cheese steak. My wife and I both had individual sides of fries. My cheese steak was good , roll was soft and fresh, good cheese content but I felt it certainly could have had more meat. My wife's burger (its a smash burger) was tasty and presented with all the sides. Of course being Bryan "Full Portion" I finished all mine and hers My criticism was the fries which came out warm if not close to cold. The young servers who followed up several times were QUICK to address it as they came back quickly with fresh hot fries I"ll try "AWT" again as their in the neighborhood especially as I felt their interest in taking care of the customer is definitely a priority they take seriously read more

Why do most places today either use too much pepper or too much spice? I am sure the food would have been great but I do not like heat so the only food item I enjoyed were the tater tots. The nachos and steak sandwich were too much for me. The place looked awesome with stickers and decor. The bathroom was the best I have ever seen as we had two toddlers with us and it was supplied with a sturdy table, wipes, and diapers. they even had feminine products. No other bathroom has been accommodating for mothers with young kids. My family loved their food but I am a wimp when it comes to spice so I will say it was great for them. read more

The food menu was eclectic. The service was great. Loved the atmosphere. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves without anyone rushing us around. But the biggest thing was we had a billing error, we called the following business day and Tim who handles the accounts called me personally and texted me up on our request and help me clear all of it up. He also followed up a few days later to make sure all had been cleared with my bank. It's great to have a restaurant that is fun with atmosphere and the administrative side is just as fantastic! Love that they have multiple options for ordering (from the register, QR code at the table, or up to the bar area for your drinks). The food is consistently good too. Cheesesteaks, burgers, wings, quesadillas. Last night we saw Santa, and we split a chips and queso and a Med salad with grilled chicken. Additionally the last time we were there, our team was coming off a tough game on the ball field. And the girls were feeling it, hard. And Jerry came to the table and took care of us. This review is from a visit back at the end of January. I really didn't expect to like it here. I don't know why, but it just didn't appeal to me. I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be AWESOME!! We walked in and looked at the menu overhead but weren't sure where to order. We found a tiny little register to the left of the door. The guy at the register was so friendly and very helpful to us newbies. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture because, again, I didn't think I'd be impressed. I had a basic cheeseburger that was fantastic! I looked for some mayo where the other condiments were but didn't see any. Someone - I assume the owner or manager but am not sure - asked if he could help. He went into the back and brought some mayo to our table. He was also very friendly. I was intrigued by their "mystery box". I asked what it was and was told it could be anything, from candy or chips to a t-shirt. We purchased one after our dinner. They are $5. In our box there were Cheetos, a Hostess cupcake and Twinkie and some candies. Fun Dip?! Do they still make that? I used to love Fun Dip! All in all, I highly recommend checking out Awesome Times. Disappointing Experience at Awesome Times - Highland Village, TX As a long-time resident of Highland Village for over 33 years, I have witnessed many businesses come and go. Throughout this time, I've generally avoided writing negative reviews because I believe that one bad experience shouldn't define an entire establishment. However, after today's encounter, I feel compelled to share my experience--not from a staff member, but directly from the owner of Awesome Times. Today, I visited the restaurant with my wife and our service dog. We always take extra care to choose dog-friendly places, and Awesome Times had shown up in a search for dog-friendly restaurants. I even have a screen recording of me typing the search query, and Awesome Times was listed as a dog-friendly spot. Upon entering, the owner greeted us and immediately directed us to sit at the farthest point of the restaurant. Shortly after, he came over and, in a rather stern manner, told me, "Sir, you can't have a dog in here. It's against the Health Inspector's rules, and I could get fined for it." It quickly became clear that the issue wasn't related to any health code--it was about his personal discomfort with having our service dog in his establishment. I calmly explained that the dog is a service animal and that I have the necessary documentation in my car, but the owner showed no interest in hearing that. It was apparent that he simply didn't want the dog in his restaurant. The establishment wasn't busy--there were maybe 10 people in total, including staff, around 1:30 in the afternoon. What was most disappointing--and frankly, embarrassing for the owner--was that he didn't even ask if the dog was a service animal or if I had the proper documentation. In the past, other restaurants have always been respectful, asking if the animal is a service dog and offering to review the paperwork if needed. But here, there was no inquiry, no understanding, and no respect. We were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. After leaving, my wife quickly searched for other dog-friendly restaurants nearby, and once again, Awesome Times came up in the search results. This only added to our frustration. I'm not just a local resident; I am the director at one of the prominent news outlets in the area. As someone who holds a professional role in the community, I don't take the responsibility of writing a review lightly. It's something I rarely do, but when the experience involves the owner of the restaurant, I felt it was important to share it publicly. This wasn't a mistake made by a staff member; it was the owner's decision to make us feel unwelcome. I wish I could give it 3.5. It was okay. I think the main issue was that so many people had hyped it up, and I expected something completely different. I didn't expect counter service first of all. And I didn't expect to have to walk around the whole place looking for a table. The atmosphere reminded me of a chipotle with a bar. People who mentioned this place talked about live music, and we went around 6 PM on a Friday, which might've been a little too early for live music. Overall, I just wasn't prepared and I'm going to give it another shot and will update this review. The food was fine. I had a grilled chicken salad, and it was great. My husband had a burger and my son had wings - they both said they were OK. Personal Rant: One thing I would really like for business owners to do is stop forcing people to choose to not tip at counter service. If I am doing all of the work, and no one is taking my order, bringing my food, bringing my refills, grabbing more napkins, all of the things that a waitress does at a waitress wage, which is much less than minimum wage, don't make me feel obligated to tip by forcing that screen. Random bar/restaurant at the end of a strip. I think I've passed by 86 times and never noticed it. We've been twice now and love it!! The drinks are awesome!! Full bar. You can order/pay for everything from your table and pay as you go. It's very convenient, especially for a large party. Bloody was one of the best I've had. They will bring you a frozen glass for bottled beer. Food- everything was great and surprisingly affordable. We got the Philly. (but it was the hotter version with green chili cheese. It was delicious but way too hot!! My friend got the regular Philly and they is the way to go. We got plain tots and they were amazing!! Next time we will get one of the "fancy tots". Another great homestyle burger and tots (or fries) ! Friends told us about Awesome Times for a great homestyle burger (meaning no artisan roles or fancy aioli spread). Just a great hot burger with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions. Catsup and mustard are by the fountain drinks to add as you please. Burgers come dry. Choice of Tots or Crinkle-Cut Fries with season salt. Service is always quick. This most recent trip was 5pm on a Thursday. We got our hot food, finished and were on our way home by 5:35pm. They have a full bar so if you want anything beyond fountain drinks, tea or water they have you covered. I only wish it was a bit closer. We live off 2499 and 3040 and during the week it can take 20 minutes to drive north the short distance but when we want a good burger it's worth the drive and traffic. read more

My burger was gone by the time my beer was delivered. My burger was pretty good but my tots were over cooked and dry. My wife's burger was pretty good but her fries were over cooked as well. We also ordered a Mule that came after she ate some of her burger. Now on the way home all of us have the "bubble gut" (daughters burger was undercooked tots overcooked) We won't be coming back. read more

Our district was hosting a game night and although I was sad to dine and dash, I felt really happy moments later when I was trying all this awesome food. I was able to ask the gentleman who was setting up the food where it was from and here we have it- AWESOME TIMES. I got to go visit them at their restaurant soon. Food: -chicken quesadillas- savory and seasoned so well! -cheesy potatoes goodness-maybe these were the tater tots others mentioned, I could have eaten entire tray of these- so delicious! -salsa- incredible roasted flavor! -sour cream sauce- so simple but so fantastically perfect for the dishes. Haven't dined at Awesome Times in several months. We travel quite often. I once raved about their Marauder sub. So, today, me & my hubby ordered our fav, the Marauder sub sandwich & tater tots. The sub was, at one time, quite huge. As usual, friendliness was great, employees or owners, checking on our table, quite often. Me & my hubby split the sub, but both of us agreed, from the minute we picked up each half, it was not the sub we had once enjoyed! First the sub bun seemed to be smaller & lacked the taste of bread once used. The shaved beef, onions, peppers & sauce was about half of what it once was. It was once so juicy, it saturated the bun, merging the flavors with savory goodness. Today's sub was somewhat dry & the filling was not juicy .. just moderately creamy, with the sauce. Honestly, I would rather pay a tad more, for the old sub, than the $14 for today's Marauder sub. On the positive side, we both agreed the tater tots were excellent! This restaurant is known for its deliciously crisp 'n crunchy tater tots & today's order did not disappointment! The tots were scrumptious & we ate every tot in our basket. Well, on the weekends my diet is out the window... this was our 2nd visit to Awesome. The Marauder Philly cheesesteak w cheese whiz, jalapeños is very good.. maybe my go to.,, The wings are crispy and good... this time, I got The Duke.. oh yes, beefy hamburger goodness.. I substituted an Impossible patty for $2 more. My liver thanks me. Simple bun, a bottom layer of thinly sliced Romaine lettuce, the patty, amazing homemade pickles, a slice of red onion & Frenches mustard you add yourself. It came w either crinkle cut fries or tots. I absolutely had to order a side of queso for the fries,. That stuff makes ketchup seem so ho hum. The house made seasoning on the fries is so good! Very salty :) The pickles are a perfect compliment to the diced Hatch green chilies from New Mexico.. nice and spicy!!! I love the service, full bar and TVs on sports everywhere. It's worth the extra with the better quality ingredients! So if you're looking for a burger type joint to get some fried foods, give this place a shot! You can't go wrong with the marauder. Still in it's new opening stage, my wife and I visited this spot for a between lunch and dinner meal after her flight came into Dallas in the late afternoon. The Decor is a little bit of everything. There's a bar straight ahead as you walk in, and if you don't look immediately to your left you might miss the menu and the spot to put in your order. The kitchen is literally right under the menu so this place really maximizes it's use of space. The placement of bar, and order station leaves a wide open concept. Only eye sores are support poles throughout, and depending on your viewpoint there may be a pole in the middle of your tv while you're perhaps watching sports or chivetv. There's plenty of TVs around there but those who like to see every tv at the same time might want to pick their seat carefully. People are really friendly and greet you coming in and leaving. It will be interesting to see if this place ends up being a younger teen/adult hangout or it becomes the local watering hole for the condos/apartments behind. Met Jerry and he seems like a very nice fellow and he was really interested in hearing how our experience was. The food leans towards a Tater place (tater tots) with several different ideas on fusing the tater tot with sushi influence or even the New Mexico-style food where Jerry is from. Also prominent are the burgers and wings with different ideas that could take a few trips to cycle through. This trip I tried the chile Gordo which is their version of a traditional burger with jalapeños. I have to admit I didn't notice that mustard is a part of the normal recipe and I'm more of a mayonnaise person but this was a great burger. What I noticed is that the bun was toasted (a tad bit blackened but still good) and the two patties and fixings on it did not leak out all over my hands while I ate. In other words it was the perfect size burger bun. I think he said he orders from 44 Farms. Any case it was pretty good and Jerry suggested I could add or subtract anything I would like to try next time (such as adding a fried egg). Comes with your choice of fries or tater tots as a side. Thought the fries were a tad under seasoned but still ok. They have a traditional soda fountain for your drinks in addition to the aforementioned bar. My wife had the Mt. Fuji Tots. Surprisingly it did remind me of a sushi inspired mix with the spicy mayo, teriyaki, wasabi...topped with wonton chips. My wife and I both had a bite and instantly felt the need to have another behind it. Great spicy flavor but not over the top. They give you a large enough portion to eat and take leftovers as well as serve in a to-go container to make it easy. Burger $12, Fuji $15. I'd pay $12 again for a double patty burger and then even pay a dollar or so for the fried egg add-on. For the flavor and amount of food I'd even say the tater tots are not a bad deal either. Definitely takes adding chile and cheese to tater tots to a whole new level and I'd be interested in hearing other's experience of some of the other flavor combinations. The decor is very simple. This part just applies to me personally....my brain and visual likes to see all TVs at once and nice clean lines. The interior design of this place has had to navigate corners and support poles so it took a bit for me to get used to. For being in the new opening stage I saw a several things that I think might make this a promising place to stop in and have a bite for lunch or late afternoon snack. The food, while good, is a little on the comfort/heavy side so the 4:00 stop for us was enough for me to pass on supper at the house because I am still full. They do have a patio but during a 100-degree week not ideal. Come the fall though might be worth a try. I've give it a 4.5 stars at this point with the momentum arrow point up! read more

The staff was super friendly, and one of the owners even stopped by our table to chat before we got our food. The cocktail was delicious, and they have several TVs playing sports. Here are a few things that could be improved, but I think they're easy fixes. I would love to see them succeed! As soon as we walked in, I could smell the cooking oil, which had an unpleasant odor. If you cook in bad smelling oil, your food is going to taste like it. Unfortunately, the tortilla chips and wings tasted like the oil. The mac & cheese was missing cheese flavor; it was super bland, and so were the tater tots. The quesadillas were okay, just okay.
