Ambiance is definitely a tavern feel. Food was a little pricey. I ended getting the house salad and a cup of the chicken tortilla soup. Both were delicious. Happy hour was all night, so I ordered a $5 Lemon drop martini which had the perfect mix of sweet and tart. If I return it will be during happy hour or lunch for sure to get the best deal. We were seated quickly in the enclosed patio where the buffet was set up. There were a good amount of food options as well as a carving, taco, and omelette station. I tried quite a few things and it was all good for buffet-style food. Staff was friendly and were constantly monitoring the food trays to get replenishment as needed. The hubby and I hadn't been here in quite a while. We popped in for dinner and the place looks great. A neighborhood, upscale barg and grill with surprisingly tasty offerings and attentive staff. We started with the crab stuffed jalapenos and some dirty vodka martinis. They do know how to make a good 'tini. The crab stuffed japs were huge, bacon wrapped and crispy. An order of 3 and we barely finished our single. The sauce they came in was delicious and a teensy bit spicy with plenty of fresh cilantor and corn and black beans. Worthy to share. We weren't too hungry so we shared the fried seafood appetizer. Hand cut calamari, very tender. Hand breaded onion rings, oysters and jumbo shrimp that comes with a white dipping sauce. We also got sides of cocktail sauce and marinara. All sauces were homemade and tasty. We had a side of fries with that. - crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside. I did save room to try a dessert from their extensive list. Dragonfruit mango creme brulee. We sent the dessert back to get a more crispy crunch on the top but that didn't work out and there were chunks of mango that I didn't care for. Creme brulee is my favorite dessert and part of that fun is the crunchy, crispy top. Still, we had a great time. The place is fun, small enough to feel cozy but large enough to have a happy hour meetup with friends. The menu is creative and the staff obviously care about the details. We'll definitely be back! I have been eating at this establishment ever since it opened. Yesterday/Father's day, my with and i went in to eat dinner. Both ordered the OG burger. Here is my beef if you pardon the pun. Why do you ask how you want your burger cooked, if you're going to cook it the way you want. I ordered mine med, that should be a warm pink Center. My wife ordered med well. They both came out completely cooked well done. I should the waiter and nothing was done about it. No, comp on our appetizer or half off on my burger! Nothing at all! I had the whisky tenderloin, rare to medium rare, and while the flavor was good, the meat was incredibly tough. The biscuits and gravy were also good, not great. The sausage was good, but overcooked. A friend offered to take me to dinner wherever I wanted as a thank you for helping him with some business strategy. Not wanting to head all the way into Dallas, I opted for Verf's, which I knew would be a reliable pick closer to home. Although it was Mardi Gras when we went, we got a quiet booth in a back corner behind the bar area and were able to enjoy a long conversation over a great meal. I ordered the Verf's chicken, which is garnished with hatch chilies, roasted corn and black beans. It comes with garlic mashed potatoes (my favorite carb) and asparagus. My friend had the ribeye, which comes with the same sides, and said the steak was cooked perfectly. We also split dessert--crème brûlée with blueberries, which was plenty large for two people. As I'd hoped, my friend was very impressed with the restaurant and said it was a great choice. I'll have to come up with some more clever business ideas so we can make a return visit. read more

I ordered the red fish entree with fried oysters and crab cake. Being that the dish is New Orleans inspired, I expected the oysters to be fried like nola. They were partially fried and mostly raw.
