Another weird and disappointing experience. Again, we dine here often and when it's just my husband and myself service is usually great. But once again we went with family & friends and the service was disappointing. Table of 6. Ordered appetizers, they were placed on our table but we had no small plates to share. Had to ask twice for those as our appetizers went cold. On to the food order.....we placed our order and when food arrived only half the table received their food.........AGAIN!!! The server said our food "should" be coming soon. I kindly asked WHY all the orders weren't delivered at the same time. Her explanation was that they purposefully break up the tickets so the kitchen doesn't get bogged down on one order. Ummmm, PLEASE MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE. We were a table of 6, not 60!!! The rest of us waited on our food for 10 minutes while the other side had their food go cold. Also never got water refilled, had to drink my husband's, (we were there for an hour and a half). I'm thinking at this point we won't bring others to what use to be our favorite restaurant. Sad read more

Such a shame, our favorite local restaurant is close to being over, sorry Rick. Second time in last two weeks, we had to eat as fast as we could to get out in the hot air. Two times in the last two weeks we were cold, today we were frozen. Even my wife who keeps our house cold enough to hang meet couldn't stay in the restaurant, we got out as fast as we could. We go almost every week mostly for dinner. Sadly lunch selections continue to be cut, sandwiches now consist of a burger or chicken. No more Reuben or Patti melt. During Covid we did pickup at least twice a week hoping to help Rick keep the doors open. We still do pickup because we can stay in the car. Very seldom do negative reviews, we have been supportive since the week you opened. read more

We came for dinner on Friday at 5:30pm. Wow, they were packed! So glad we got a table without a reservation. Mike was our server in the bar area. He was great! So professional, always checked on us, cleared the table as plates were emptied, refilled our drinks without us having to ask, and just pleasant! He answered a lot of questions and we enjoyed our meal and dinner. We got dessert and tried the cappuccino ice cream pie. I'm not a coffee drinker, my husband is, we both enjoyed it. We dined as a family at Hillside the week of Christmas for our special dinner. Our reservation was ready upon arrival even though they were very busy. We were seated promptly at a booth as requested. Our waitress was incredibly professional and very helpful at guiding us through the menu (our first visit). We all had a hard time deciding what to eat as there were a lot of good looking options! After starting with a dinner salad that was delicious (loved their ranch) I decided on the catfish and shrimp, my husband tried the fish and chips and my son got the lemon herb chicken. All were done well. I wouldn't say any of us said it was the best we'd ever had, but we didn't have any complaints OTHER than my husbands coleslaw being on the plate instead of a separate container- all of the coleslaw dressing ran into his fries and fish. But that's a simple fix in the future. Overall a pleasant experience and we will definitely return. read more

Hillside is a fine dining experience at a totally reasonable price point. Each entree we have tried is perfectly prepared, and their custom drink menu offers a few classics + their own twist! The entrees are a generous portion, so we usually order a lunch portion (unless we would like left overs for the next day). The Hillside Martini is a fave here! The service is top-notch, for sure. They serve in a timely manner and your glass is never empty! Highly recommend! read more

Another bad experience. That makes 4 in a row. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat. Food was great, service was top notch. That all started to change after the owner opened another location. I had several favorites on the menu. The seafood options were always great. Then something changed. Not cooked right, too dry or under cooked. After 3 bad experiences we decided not to go back. Today some friends ask us to meet them there for lunch. It had been quite awhile since we had been there. So we met them. I told them about our last 3 visits and was hoping for a better experience. Two of us ordered the catfish and when it came the fried batter tasted great but the catfish was mush. Our waiter, who was great could see the issue and quickly went to get new catfish orders in. New order came out and was just the same. He said not to worry that he would take it off our bill. We said good because we can't eat it. He asked if he could get us anything to replace the catfish. We both said to just get us a hamburger to go. The couples discussed how surprised we were that an owner or manager hadn't dropped by our table to apologize. And about a minute later the manager came by and when my friend stated to tell the manager about the issue, he said don't worry I took it off you bills. No apologies or anything. Just. Took it off the bill. Then hamburgers showed up and we asked for our check so we could leave. They charged us for the burgers. Not really surprised. Strike 4, we won't go back. read more

Hey Hillside, I'm a frequent flyer and have enjoyed your food for years. There are still some items I have not tried yet, but plan to do so in the near future. There is one item which I have a had a few times and will never again. Fried catfish is not on point... it teases me because I love a good fried fillet or nuggets. Tonight I ordered and they were barely cooked, there was an option for extra crispy and that did not happen. They are always under seasoned, if at all, and I am disappointed. I went here to celebrate my husband and father in law birthday. The service was really amazing. I don't know the name of waiter but he was really nice and friendly. We had an issue with one steak and they were prompt and professional with handling the situation. A staff member name Devin came to personally to apologize for the steak. The food is good here. I've been going to this restaurant regularly since it opened. Lately, the service and food has not been as stellar as is used to be. We had a yoing server the past two times that had to be hunted down to get drink refills. The portions are getting smaller (the shrimp used to be the bigger size, the potatoes are in smaller dishes, etc) , and with their latest menu, they took off the trio selection. I know recent economics make it difficult, but I hate to see the decline. read more

I got the spinach dip pasta which was not my original first choice but after seeing another customer devour it I had to try! So glad I did! Got the meatballs as well which were a bit salty for me but the shrimp appetizer made up for it! The Bellini was a little too syrupy for me so replaced it with a skinny margarita which was fantastic! Came here in April 2024 and really loved our experience here! We actually started with the Fried Shrimp because our kids love that. For dinner we all had filets which were great, one of ours was slightly overcooked but didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back.
