I never threw an axe in my life when I went to Axes&O's for a friends birthday party and I was hooked! The staff is very friendly funny and helpful with teaching us how to throw axes and learning axe throwing games. It is so much fun that my friends and I find every excuse to keep coming back!! Truly amazing food and an awesome selection of beer. For those with Covid concerns this establishment take Covid seriously and has a very clean facility that follows proper Covid guidelines. This is not a type of place that you need to wait for a special occasion to get friends and go, this is a fantastic way to start, end or get over your middle workweek. We had an amazing experience at Axes and O's last night! From my initial contact with setting up the reservation to our experience last night, the staff was outstanding! We were celebrating our son's 21st birthday and our ax coach, Pedro with a kilt, made our experience unforgettable! None of us had ever done anything like this before, but all four in our party ended up with a bull's eye before our session was over! The food was also delicious. We especially enjoyed the Gooey Butter Cookies......OMG, so good! Everyone in our group has commented what an amazing time we had and we are already planning to visit again....can't wait! It looks like a hole in the wall. It's not. It's actually quite welcoming. And I loved that there was a comfy place to hang out while we waited. While we didn't try the food on this trip the drinks were very good. The place is also well maintained and clean. This was a ton of fun! Even if you've never done it before, try it. The staff is always nearby, without hovering, to help out with your 'technique '. They also introduced us to some games that we all could do easily. Highly recommend Axes and O's, a new urban axe throwing bar in Sterling VA! The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, the beer & wine include local, and the axe throwing is top notch. This was the best idea for a father's day celebration! I made the reservation for party of 7 and it was so simple and fast! She told me all the rules and regulations over the phone so we would be aware and did a waiver on line. We had the best Axe coach (ask for Pedro)! By the end of the night we were always hitting the target! Their food was amazing! They have a great beer selection and an awesome happy hour menu as well. Recently visited Axes and O's Sunday around 4. My experience could not have any better. Connor was polite courteous and friendly throughout our session. He showed axe throwing techniques that resulted in myself and my girlfriend hitting the board almost every time. Connor also recommended a fun game to play and food/drink choices. Conor went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time and any guest that is served by him will have the same feeling. Keep up the great work. Was in the area on a work trip and decided to try this place out, was a Wednesday afternoon, WAS THE BEST DECISION WE MADE ALL DAY. By far the cleanest, most well organized entertainment place I've been in since covid started (I travel all over the country). The staff were amazing and very patient in giving instruction and showing us the different games and explaining how to throw and the rules etc. i would highly recommend this place to anyone! This is our favorite date night spot. Not only is axe throwing a blast, the food and beer selection are great. It's a great place to unwind after a long frustrating day at work and the axe coaches are really helpful in helping you throw (and keeping the beer and snacks coming!!). OK first of all WOW! What a fun place!!!! I was nervous going at firwst having never thrown axes before but the guy in charge (who wore a cool kilt) was so helpful and alleviated all my fears. Showed us the proper way to throw and I actually kept hitting the target which surprised me. A LOT of fun and I will be back time and time again. Also, the food was well above par. It was my first time throwing axes and my wife and I had a great time! The team at Axes and O's made sure we understood the fundamentals of throwing, watched us get into it, then came by often to ensure we still had the hang of things. Super friendly and followed all guidelines to ensure it was a COVID free event. The lanes are safe and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I will definitely return. A few couples in my neighborhood had an idea to try Axe throwing. We found Axes and O's online, and I'm certainly happy we decided to go here. There were 8 of us total and we had an amazing time. None of us had ever done this before, and with patient instruction from our host, Jordan, she had us hitting the board routinely. We had such as great time! We will be back! Tons of fun!! I went for an office party and didn't expect to throw axes. (I was in heels but wasn't the only one in a "skirt" - some guys wore kilts!) It looked like so much fun I couldn't resist. The axe instructor gave us great tips to improve our throwing technique. The food was great, and they had a very good house red wine with a generous pour. A great experience! My husband and I had such a fun time here! The facility was super clean and tidy. Neither of us had ever been axe throwing and our trainer, Brian, gave us an excellent lesson and taught us a few fun games to play! This place is awesome! I set up a last-minute axe throwing event for a group of friends and reserved the morning of. Everything went smoothly and everyone had a ton of fun. Nice environment, good drinks. Didn't try the food but saw some appetizers go by and they looked like good bar food. Axe throwing was a blast and the staff did a great job explaining the technique and the game. Went with the whole family and had a great time. Would definitely go again. read more
