The Riverfront Park includes the playground and just grassy area (which is nice for all the folks we saw picnicking), and the carousel, plus food trucks congregate in the amphitheater area sometimes. The day we were there there were three of them and plenty of space for a couple more. Nice option to go grab a snack. There were a few picnic tables and we were able to claim one of them. The bathrooms were pretty gross. There was no soap or anything in them and one was in yucky shape. That led us to the port-a-potty, which was pretty gross but a little less gross than the permanent toilets. There's a large parking lot here since they must have lots of various activities taking place here. I'm glad we visited here (at a friend's recommendation) and got to enjoy this (mostly) well-kept park.

We had really hard time getting across the bar in Newport, due to the negative tides and everyone deciding that they needed to leave by 6 AM. Anyway we came back in and waited another 30 minutes before we tried again. The ocean was very calm once we got out there and rods started going down Left and right. It was a blast. We went to three different spots and landed fish at each one. I would definitely recommend this guy to fish with.

I ordered a Lemon Drop and I don't know what it was but I couldn't drink it. Then 47 minutes into our cruise, we turned around to go back to the dock to pick up passengers who arrived late. Because of this, I suspect that we didn't get to see as much of the river as we should have. The captain was friendly and we did see a pair of bald eagles.

Was a nice break to let our pup stretch his legs on our day trip to Salem. He met sweet dogs and we had no issues with aggressive dogs. Plenty of doggy stations. Ample parking.
