Really good food and super friendly service. The chili verde platter is filling and delicious. Tortillas are fresh and go down great with a ice cold beer. My son loved the beans and rice platter and the chicken tacos made my husband happy. Everything is reasonably priced as well. We'll stop in again when we're traveling up this way. read more

Passing through Fillmore for the first time on my way to Santa PauIa, I saw that there was enough parking for my rig across the street, and in the dirt lot as well. Glad I stopped here. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have tripas, and lots of it. Its hard to find places that serve it, let alone make it well. So of course I got a couple tacos. Not bad. Could have cleaned it a bit more, but it was cooked right. I would get them again, but they weren't mind-blowing. Also tried the Asada and Cabeza. The Carne Asada was different but not bad at all. The cabeza was different as well, I'm used to it being more fatty. (which I like) The salsa bar was pretty unique, and rather good. Its a shame this place doesnt serve chips and salsa with that orange salsa they have. I tend to favor Mexican restaurants that serve free chips and salsa. It makes my day. The hot carrots werent hot, they should rename them bland carrots. I love Coke from a bottle. 'Nuff said. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. As I ate I watched the locals come in and order food, and chop it up with the staff. I like that. One thing that they were ordering was their special "Nadias Burrito"....a chili verde burrito con nopales y jalapenos. Sounds tasty, and its an excuse to come back and rereview. One thing that irked me was that they had a historical picture of a dead man that had bled out all over his shirt, surrounded by bystanders. A bleeding corpse is not the most appetizing thing to put on a restaurant wall. I'll be back after I try the other mexican restaurants in the area. read more

Pricy but authentic and it's hard to beat their menudo. Gets busy on the weekends so get there early or BE SQUARE

This place is the real deal. Tacos are fresh and simple. Cheap but still delicious. Don't expect a lot of extras here, or much by the way of decor. But stop here for a damn good taco, and you won't be disappointed. read more

Oh my gosh, this place has amazing food! Super authentic taste, really good prices, good drink selection. They have fountain drinks and bottled drinks as well. They don't have a large salsa section, but they do have deserts! Flan and aroz con leche! read more

We travel from Bakersfield to Ventura on vacation every year. This place is a Must Stop to and from. We get the same thing every time. Hubby gets the carne asada burrito and I get the chili rellano burrito. I know we should branch out and try something different but we crave their burritos. The beans alone are amazing!! Obviously this joint is good since there's an exclamation point in the name. Four stars simply because this is an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I really want to give it five. For authenticity, the menu board is in English and Spanish. Fillmore natives love this place, including my cousin who actually eats lengua. The burritos are delicious. I recommend skipping the lettuce so you can fit more of the good stuff like nopales (cactus) and homemade salsa. They serve beer here too. The food is fast but made to order and there's always parking out front, making this an ideal stop if you are in a hurry. I personally like sitting so you can get a feel for Fillmore culture. If you are driving West down West Ventura Street, "Ay! Chi's" (as the locals call it) is on the right just past the Texaco gas station. read more
