We got the Southern Sea Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Sen Yai, and Phad See Ew. Food was okay. The Southern Sea Fried Rice was decent; a little sweet, but I didn't mind that. But I needed to add my own chili oil; I had ordered 5 stars, and could not taste any spiciness. The Pineapple Fried Rice was the best thing we ordered; had a lot of flavor. Dinner was amazing and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and attentive. The appetizer was prawns and the Sunny Delight very good. The black sticky rice dessert is a great way to top off a delicious meal. It's very casual and the restaurant is really clean and maintained throughout. read more

My family and I have eaten here a few times. The food is always consistently flavorful and delicious! Our food comes out swiftly. All servers have been nice and efficient. We have tried the following: -Pad See Ew with beef -Pad Thai with chicken and beef -Fresh rolls with shrimp -Spring rolls -Thai tea -Panang chicken curry ** All were delicious. It's sad their other location in Puyallup off S Meridian which was closure to my home. We frequented there. I guess we just have to continue to make the trip out here. My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in Puyallup Tacoma area - well worth the trip - love the mama phad - so good

I have come here a couple of times now and I would say the ambience is pretty reflective of a mix of a tie in Chinese restaurant. The service is decent in the staff is friendly. The prices are actually not bad for a Thai restaurant. I would say the food is also not bad. It is nothing special, but good enough for me to keep coming back to you. I have ordered the yellow curry noodles a few times and wish it had more curry in it. It is supposed to represent a northern Thai dish called Khao Soi, but does not do a good job replicating the dish It is still pretty decent, but I don't think it is something I will keep getting. This is a nice little Thai place in the Frederickson neighborhood. Several weeks ago someone asked about the best Thai places in the Puyallup area and Ayothya was mentioned several times so I opted to come a little out of my way just to try something new. We arrived shortly after they opened that day and they already had several tables seated. Service was fast and friendly. The menu has what you'd expect from a Thai place. I opted for some panang curry, 3 stars, with tofu. 3 stars wasn't very spicy and this place is quite Americanized (which I suspected based on all the other people already seated). It was overall good and I feel that the price point was reasonable. My dining partner went with the...Ayothaya orange special (?) which he really enjoyed! He was delighted to see chucks of fresh orange and seemed a little surprised when I mentioned that he can eat the entire thing - rind included. That was definitely a hit and I see him ordering that again. Overall a lovely experience, though I'd definitely order a 5 star spice next time. read more

We were passing through the area and wanted Thai food and looked up a few places and decided on Ayothaya in Frederickson. I am so glad we did!! The Ambiance is nice and relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The decor reminds me of the various colors at the Grande Palace in Bangkok. We had the chicken satay skewers. It came with a small cucumber salad which was great! The chicken was a very generous portion and the peanut sauce was second to none! We also had the pad Thai with chicken, it was perfect. An excellent mix of the sauce and noodles. Also a very good portion. Next the panang curry. This was the perfect mix of red bell peppers Thai basil and kaffir leaves with the coconut milk. This was perfect over the white rice The service was excellent. We were greeted warmly and was seared right away. My wife wanted Thai food so I arrived and ordered Pad Thai with Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp, Larb, Showering Rama with Chicken and Fresh Spring Rolls. Got all to go. Food was ready pretty fast and took it home to enjoy. The Showering Rama was very good, and the Peanut Sauce is excellent. Everything else was also very good except the Larb. It was rather dry and just not very good. The order also had two cartons of White Rice. We probably shouldn't have ordered so much as the bill was over $100, but we love Thai food. Thai food was okay! The portion size is really good but I will say I've had better Pad Thai. It lacked a little flavor and the chicken was a tiny bit dry. I also got the fresh rolls with shrimp and the veggies were delicious and crisp. I ordered my food as takeaway so maybe enjoying the food fresh is the best move! read more

Food was delicious! I got the red curry with chicken. The chicken was cut into thin pieces and was a little on the dry side but the veggies were all fresh and delicious! I tried the red curry with duck, but I am not a fan of duck so I didn't love it... the fresh roll was good and it came with 3 (whole) pieces cut in halves. The Thai tea was large and so good! This place is so wonderful, family owned, been going here for years and they NEVER miss. I love the emerald curry with tofu and peanut sauce. Desserts are great, mango + black sticky rice! We eat a lot of Thai. We have both eaten inside the restaurant and ordered to-go several times. We like it because the people are friendly and they're the closest to our house. The restaurant is cute and clean. The food is just ok -we get 5 star heat on everything and like most places, 5 stars doesn't seem like 5 stars, but that's probably more of an us thing than an issue with the cooks (we like it spicy). I think the main issue is the quality of the ingredients, particularly the meat, is just ok. It also seems like all of the dishes have too much sugar added, which I'm not a fan of. I have noticed how many Asian restaurants from Thai to Chinese to Teryaki and beyond all seem to be making their sauces too sweet and I think it's because Americans like sugar (don't get me started on how sweet espresso drinks are now -I have to order 1/2 sweet). So, I guess that's not a restaurant problem per se if they're giving the masses what they want, but I don't like restaurants that make everything sweet. Overall, it's not a bad experience and we will order food from here again at some point, it's just not our go-to place. Bonus: They are quick and efficient. We do get our food quickly when ordering here. read more

Ordered Thai Brazil, Chicken Larb and Panang Curry. Overall, the food was great, only thing I would have changed was for more authentic flavor to the Larb. However, I will most likely be a returning customer. I would definitely recommend Ayothaya to friends and family. So when you are craving some Asian food that is more than your average typical teriyaki place, stop in at Ayothaya and check out their menu. They say they use "real" crab, no sign or taste of crab, not even imitation. Papaya salad was wilted and not fresh. We once liked this place. Won't be back! Hands down the best thai food and amazing service! Taste is super authentic and very close to the food I've had in Thailand.

Stopped for lunch today, and I was quite pleased. There was no wait at 11:30, half the tables were full. I was immediately created and seated. It's a lovely, clean, beautifully decorated place (not a hole in the wall diner.) I had the Papaya salad, 3 star spicy, and fried calamari appetizer. The calamari may well have been the best I have EVER had. Light as a feather breading, super juicy and tender, with a good deal of veggies included and a very light and tangy plum sauce. The Papaya salad had more fish sauce than I prefer, but tasted really really good. I prefer Cambodian style w fermented crabs and more herbs.... But this is a Thai spot. Service was prompt and professional, if not actually friendly. My water was refilled multiple times, I was impressed enough to give a 50% tip. I'll go back, and ask for less fish sauce. read more
