This is the second location that I've tried and I love it. They are certainly consistent. The fried rice was full of flavor. The garlic wings were my favorite and they truly understand the spice levels. My wife raved about her basil chicken. It was a holiday so it wasn't too busy. We came on a Monday at around 5pm. Lots of space super clean, calming music. Our waitor was also so sweet. I'll be back.

Walk in, always laid back feel. Quiet soft music playing. Nice lighting. Good place for a date night, meal alone when it comes to being able to converse with others. Food is flavorful, I had the garlic pork today. Good sized portion. The servers take their time and are quite pleasant. Check in frequently. A little slow but worth the wait.

This was a mixed bag for me. The food was pretty good, I would say, above average. I really loved the full mushrooms.. morals I think. That was nice. Service was decent. We were close to closing time, but they were not pushy or anything. The negatives were two fold. First, I really wanted mango sticky rice, but that was like 10 dollars. That seems expensive to me. In most places it's about 6 dollars, at most. So I didn't get that. Infact most everything on the menu was wildly varied in price and it didn't make much sense. Second was the atmosphere... Look I am a big guy, and they put us in a booth that had about 3 feet between the table and you. I had to sit all the way forward on the bench in order to reach the table. It seemed like all the tables were like this. Over all the environment was somehow a mix of both super plain, and stereotypical Thai decorations. It felt like someone took a typical average restaurant and pasted in the first decorations they found in a catalog. Would I eat here again, yeah.... Would I seek it out, probably not when there are such better places nearby

Love the food here! One of the very few places that were open until 10pm. We were quite hungry when we went this place and it didn't disappoint us We really enjoyed our Thai basil fried rice and the yellow curry with vegetables. We specifically asked for vegan option in both of them and they were happy to accommodate us! The staff were very friendly and the food was served very hot and quick as well. The Thai ice tea was way too sweet for us but everything else was just perfect. Would definitely come back

My friend and I dropped by here after visiting the glass museum. I had been craving pad see ew for days by then we do we had go to a Thai place! First off, the exterior of the place in addition to where it's located seemed old and honestly a bit desolate. Maybe we came at the wrong time, or because I'm not from Tacoma I found it unusual. It didn't look like a place I'd come to otherwise. Inside, however, was very warm, clean, and bright. We ordered the chicken satay to share and I got the pad see ew. The chicken satay was DELICIOUS. I thought about it for days after. It was well flavored, the brown (peanut?) sauce it came with was amazing, and the veggie cup (I don't know what it was, sorry!) was a little sweet and sour and crunchy. I thought it kind of odd it came with toast but my Lao friend said that was authentic? Anyway, I'd come back just for the chicken satay. The pad see ew, on the other hand, I enjoyed less. It was extremely salty from the sauce and ruined the dish. They also used canned mushrooms which I believe gave off an odor that was, oddly enough, fish-like. The odor was underlying the entire time I ate which was disappointing. It also lacked wok hei. I did like that the pad see ew came with these perfectly fried egg bits that I can't seem to replicate at home. I used to get a similar dish from Phnom Penh in the Seattle Chinatown and loved those egg pieces, so I was extremely pleased to see it done here as well.

I just had Thai in Port Townsend last night and was still feeling in the mood so I figured I'd try out this place. I ordered through the yelp app and that was easy enough and the food came in the expected time frame. I ordered pad Thai with tofu, drunken noodles with chicken, yellow curry with tofu, crab wontons and Thai tea. It wasn't clear in ordering that rice came with the curry, but it does. The side Of jasmine rice I ordered was pretty small but nice to have since you never get enough rice for all the sauce in the curry. Pad Thai is one of my all time favorites but this had no flavor, even with a squeeze of lime juice added in. The drunken noodles and yellow curry were much better, but still not as flavorful as the stuff I had last night. Yes, I ordered almost the same food at a different Thai place last night. The crab wontons were delish as always- can't really screw up fried food right? I probably won't order from here again- there are a lot of Thai places out there and this was just ok.

A LOT of life has happened since then, so we definitely had plenty to catch up on. Neither of us had been to Bloom Thai before, but we both love Thai food, so we decided to give it a try. This place is definitely different from any Thai restaurant I've been to before. It's super small, with only a handful of tables. You order at the counter, grab your number, and find a table. They also have a big jug of cucumber water that was so refreshing! They didn't have my usual yellow chicken curry, so I decided to try something completely different--the drunken noodles. I honestly had no idea what I was ordering, but OH MY GOSH... I was in love with this dish! The flavors were fantastic, and they topped it with deep-fried basil. I'm not even kidding when I say I think I've dreamed about that crispy basil every day since! It was SO good! The food was definitely the star of the show for me, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I think this is such a fun little spot to meet a friend for lunch, especially if you want somewhere casual and different. That said, it is VERY small, so I personally wouldn't choose it for a family dinner with a bunch of picky eaters or rambunctious kids. The menu is also a little different than your typical Thai restaurant, so definitely keep that in mind. For dinner, I'd probably order it to-go and enjoy it at home. But for a girls' lunch or catching up with a friend? Absolutely! Great little find, and I will definitely be back for those drunken noodles and that amazing fried basil!

The husband, who was serving, checked in several times to make sure I had everything I needed. The chef also stopped by my table when she came out of the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful touch. The pork belly was very crispy(an additional fee), but too salty for my taste. The Pad Thai was good, although not the best I've had. The noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce. It did not come spicy, but chili sauce was available to add some heat. The spicy omelette tom yum soup had a great balance of mild spice and sourness, and it tasted very authentic. The texture of the fried omelette after soaking in the soup was not my favorite, but that may come down to personal preference. The Thai iced tea had a good balance of tea and condensed milk, although it was sweeter than I prefer. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table afterward. Water is self-service. They also have a helpful sign explaining the ordering and seating process for first-time guests. The restaurant was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a great ambiance. I especially enjoyed the small area showcasing the chef's history and journey. Overall, the warm service and welcoming atmosphere made the experience memorable.

There was a it of a rocky start because they gave our table to another party, which was smaller, so we all were bunched together at the front of the restaurant, which has a tight entry. It was intended for the party of 8. So we didn't have much elbow room to eat. I ordered the golden duck and my partner had basil rice with beef. My best friend ordered a lemon curry chicken that was so good I almost switched our plates. I actually really loved my food too. My partner enjoyed the rice but not the beef. I also had the crab wontons which were super yummy. Everyone pretty much loved what they ordered. They raved about the Thai tea. It truly would have been a five star experience had we been more comfortable. Also, they kind of just forgot about us after they dropped off our main courses. We sat so long without being checked on that none of wanted dessert anymore when quite a few of us were going to order some at first. I'd loved to try it more intimately with less people as they could have maybe just been overwhelmed. Other notes: Not overpriced. Parking wasn't exactly a breeze but I also didn't mind having to walk a bit. It's downtown so it was expected. Very busy, so maybe make a reservation or call ahead? There was outside seating. Bathrooms are not gender neutral. We visited on a Saturday. Happy eating !

For a long time I got Drunken Noodles whenever going to a Thai restaurant if I could but the last few times I have wanted something different than that. So on this outing I got the the House Ginger. This was a stir fry with your choice of protein (mine was chicken), ginger, stir fry sauce, garlic, onion, bell pepper, green onion and carrot. It also came with rice and the portion sizes were very satisfying and not too much. The flavor on my meal was so good, very fresh and bursting with flavor. The environment was very clean, with bright and spotless windows. Taste: I ordered the chicken with rice and added a portion of green curry beef. The chicken with rice was the restaurant's recommendation. It was impressive at first bite and quite enjoyable, but it became saltier as I ate toward the end. The portion of chicken was modest, so overall, it's still recommended. As for the green curry beef, it wasn't very rich, and the beef was scarce.
