Oh my goodness, things just get better and better the more I try here. Today, I picked up some takeout for me and a girlfriend. I had the Kee Mao Noodle with a side of peanut sauce (which is probably sacrilege but daaaaamn). This dish is flavored to perfection before the peanut sauce even! The noodles are al denté and the veggies are fresh fresh fresh! I haven't even gotten to the black sticky rice dessert but between the Kee Mao and a generous Thai Iced Tea I am already in hog heaven. Had to start this review immediately but I'm hungry so ima stop here. Actually, let me add that everything was packaged very intelligently so nothing spilled on the way home. We got the Basil Fried Rice, Kee Mao Noodles, Pad Mama Noodles, Pad Cha Catfish, and Prawns in a Blanket. We requested for the food to be spicier, 10 stars out of 5; not sure if they were able to do that, but we didn't find the food that spicy. We enjoyed the food. The fried rice was mushy, but not sure if it was because of it taking time to be delivered, but the crispy catfish was also mushy by the time we got it. The Pad Mama Noodles was a teeny bit salty. We ordered takeout from Bangkok Thai with our friends who live in the area. Their daughters are obsessed with the Crab Wontons. I can see why because they are delicious. The crispy garlic chicken and the pad mama noodles were also Chef's kiss. I would say their Panang is good, but I'm used to a Panang with more flavor and less spice. We got a one star and it still felt too spicy. The food was ready when we went to pick up. We were only within the foyer for a minute but it seemed nice and cozy. Definitely will be back. read more

It's a small little spot on 112 in Puyallup, if you drive too fast, you'll miss the best Thai food in town. Food was delicious, pleasing to the eye and my taste buds. Ambiance is a small but cute stand alone building. Parking is tight and very angled. Service is beyond awesome. Best Thai tea! I'm addicted! Crying tiger is something to try, medium rare with a papaya salad Lao style to make it a perfect pair. Crab wontons was good. Stopped by while in town for the weekend for a convention. Great food and reasonable prices. Ordered chicken satay and steamed veggies. I hate carrots but I loved these carrots. We are long time customers, but typically through online ordering. Tonight we decided to go in person, the restaurant was pretty full considering how much takeout they do as well. We got a table immediately and it was by a little space heater which was nice. The wait staff are super friendly and attentive, we got our food and drinks after a normal wait time. Our kid was there and she was able to eat some of the wings because they are plain fried, the crab Rangoon, and we got her the Thai fried rice 0 stars. We also got the Thai green tea which I enjoyed, not sweet, very creamy and a great relief to the 4 stars Khao Soi I had. They have an awesome "street food" Menu section which has dishes I have started to try, outside my normal Pad Thai orders. The food was decent although the kao mun gai was the worst I've ever had. Sauce was decent but the chicken was suppppppper dry! It looked like the bare Pickens remaining from other people's dishes. Quite disappointed. I lived in Thailand with a Thai family for quite a while so i know the culture well. I bought Tom Young Goon (shrimp) and Thai fried rice. Both had way too many onions and very few other vegetables. Yes the soup had nice, big prawns but huge amounts of onions. Good for a base soup. More like onion soup. Taste was just right but i had to add vegetables. Same for the rice dish. Very few vegetables, couple of pieces of tomatoes, lots of good chicken but needed lots more vegetables. In Thailand, they use lots of vegetables and less meat. Not much flavor. read more

After trying a few not-so-great places in the area, my wife and I somewhat gave up on finding a decent Thai restaurant, which seemed so strange. Thankfully we decided to risk it and try out Bangkok Thai for lunch. Now we have a good Thai place nearby to frequent at long last! The lunch special combo is a great deal, esp. if you're like me and 1) have to order curry most of the time and 2) want to eat Pad Thai most of the time, but 3) Don't want to always buy two entrees. The curry was tasty and satisfying, and the Pad Thai had good flavor and seasoning to it. We also ordered the Pad Kanah Moo Grop, which tasted great...a little on the salty side, but that's how I prefer things anyway, so no complaints here! I ordered via UberEats to show my boyfriend the amazingness that is Thai food. Luckily he tried one other Thai food as I was embarrassed by how awful and bland the food was. We do the combination meal for 2 which comes with wontons, phad thai, tom yum, garlic pork and red curry. I requested it all be 1 star as my boyfriend cannot handle spicy food. They did follow the order notes, however they included jalpenos in the wontons despite me mentioning my boyfriend being unable to eat spicy foods. That was strike one. Now as I opened the phad thai, there was a hair on top of the box (picture below). Strike two and absolutely horrific as others have mentioned finding hair in their food too. And lastly, only a few bites in and the food tastes gross and smells off. We have a weird burning sensation and lose our appetites. Strike three and we are never coming back to eat here. I feel bad as there might be only one decent Thai place in Puyallup worth the money as every Thai place I order from here is either bland or just straight up gross. Go to Tacoma, Seattle, Auburn or even Federal Way for Thai food folks. read more

Honestly, this was the best Thai food I have eaten in 5+ years, maybe longer, and I love me some Thai food. The food served here puts all other Thai restaurants in the area to shame. This review needs to be so good that you stop looking on yelp for where to go and just drop everything and go here, so let's start at the top: Service: I am about to be super terrible here but sometimes, Asian restaurants just are not the best as far as service goes, I think it is a cultural thing, but that is not an issue here. The server (who I would bet is also the owner) was kind, and friendly, as well as attentive. She kept our beverages filled, brought us condiments and accommodated our requests with gusto. I watched, as we waited for our order, as she greeted customers (who must be regulars) by name and double checked door dash orders are they were being picked up (a steady stream of them). This stellar service continued while we got our food and the entire time we ate and made me sure I had to write this review. Cleanliness/Decor: The vibe from the outside makes you think, man this place looks sketchy, but then you go in and it's a clean, tidy 80's throwback with Thai decor mixed in. Almost like how you would picture a Thai Restaurant in the world of Marty McFly in Back to the Future. The place is immaculate, from the bathrooms to the kitchen (you can see into the kitchen from the front desk). Now on to the main event: Food: We got the two person family dinner and added another entree (because we had never been before and didn't want to be hungry if the portions were small). We pulled directly into the parking lot and this person screamed at us for not going the right way around the restaurant. This person apparently works at the restaurant. It was dark, raining, and there was a car blocking the "right" way so it didn't even occur to me to go that way. I later saw the arrow on the asphalt but it was barely visible in the dark. We finally parked, went in, and complained about the screaming person. The manager inside was polite and listened to our complaint. Thank you for the patient listening. However, if customers are humiliated and shamed for making an honest mistake in poorly lit conditions by an employee or owner - clearly, your customers are not a priority. The place was empty inside on a Saturday night which itself was a bad sign - the only clear sign I saw that night. We ended up going elsewhere (Mama Pho in Tacoma) and we'll never be back. read more

Not super happy about this place. Ordered on uber eats app, so yes, thankful that i had a thai option. I want to give an honest review: I ordered the rice wrap rolls. They looked big had prawns on outside, good and then lettuce and then a bunch of what tasted like .. idk turkey? Maybe chicken in the middle. The Meat taste was overwhelming. Wish it had rice noodles, carrots. Came with sweet dipping sauce. Took one bite .. meh. Then i opened up the soup which said on the menu that it was coconut milk and mushrooms.. No flavor .. like none. I thought, perhaps mistakenly, that there would be lime leaves, floating bits of some yummy root and that delicious lime grass.. nope. Just a bunch of wrinkled button mushrooms floating atop of a mass of coconut milk. I ordered it with prawns, i think they gave me pork? Opened up the container of " jasmine" rice, which again i expected it to be the warm flavorful long grain yet semi- sticky rice. What i got was a short grained very sticky rice. Put a little rice in soup. Took one bite. Tasted like three ingredients, coconut milk, mushroom, white meat, nothing more nothing less. Not even a hint of salt or spice. Went onto noodles that were supposed to have broccoli and egg in them. Four small steamed broccoli florets sat atop the noodles more as a garnishment since This was the total sum of all of the broccoli, could not see or taste any eggs in this dish. Noodles are supposed to be wide and sticky and slightly sweet.. well they did get that right; a large mass of sticky clumpy noodles. No flavor, no seasonings and noodles when i bit into the clump of one of the noodles the inside was very cold: Makes me wonder if these noodles were re-heated. Took one bite., if i lost my taste buds this is what the food tastes like.. like devoid of flavor just a gummy texture with a hint of like teriyaki taste. Moving on Then i ordered garlic chicken... ok im not trying to be over the top but this chicken is either pork or turkey.. but the flavor and texture of this meat is much tougher .. like thicker protein strings and .. and since i never eat pork or turkey all i can say is this doesn't taste like chicken. There looked to be a bunch of chopped garlic pieces ( like the kind you get at costco in the large jar) along with mostly very soggy cabbage as the vegetable and a ton of soup like broth. Took one bite. Had a slight hint of licorice flavor .. only a hint of garlic as i bit through the piece.. and didn't taste like thai food at all.. i mean not at all. The last item was the garlic wings: Again zero zero zero flavor, the chicken was in all three pieces. Not a shred of seasoning or any coating and it tasted like It had been previously fried then warmed up. There was the same Sweet dipping sauce on the side as i had for my rice wraps. Not edible. Texture of chicken was gummy, rubbery and tasted .. idk like not fresh. The bite tasted like soft chicken skin and oil. *side note while my son ate the noodles he Pulled a hair, a long hair out his mouth., that was the end of his meal. Im pretty stunned to be honest. I once took a thai cooking class and the way i learned that thai flavor profiles Are incorporated into the dish was completely not there. I felt like i was eating food off and episode of chopped kids.. only worse. If the owner sees This i hope they take note and get it together. At the bare minimum follow a Thai recipe book. While I'm 1000% behind supporting small businesses I'm 1000% against misrepresentation In total i spent 78 wasted dollars. This food will be for my fur babies dinner tonight. read more

Portions are good, but you are sacrificing taste. I ordered red curry and received who knows what with a side of bland sauce imitating curry. Spring rolls are pretty much frozen chicken wrapped in lettuce. The peanut sauce is watery and tasteless. As much as I like to support local. Came here for dinner for the first time in 10+ years. Our server was great, and gave good recommendations on what to eat. We had the crispy garlic chicken (my favorite thing), Pad Thai, BBQ fried rice, pork belly (I don't remember the name of it exactly) and a couple of appetizers. The food was all REALLY good except for the pork belly, which was cooked wayyyyyyyyy too long and felt like it could do some damage to your teeth. The one thing I'd have to say about the dining area is that the door bell is obnoxious & rang more than once every single time someone walked in. It also keeps chiming if someone's in front of the sensor. Makes it a little less relaxed in the place & hard to hear. I got the #40, a coconut curry soup, and my boyfriend got #42, a deep fried talibut dish. Both were absolutely DELICIOUS. He would not stop talking about how amazing the talibut dish was. The soup was big enough that I got to enjoy it again at home too. It's really great food and the thai iced tea is very yummy too. I also appreciate vegetarian options being available. The service is good. And cute decorations. It is worth noting that it's located at kind of an awkward turn. I'm definitely going to come here more often though. read more

It was a cold and rainy night and I was stuck in Puyallup running errands. I needed a late-night authentic and warm Asian meal but was hesitant to stop at any Asian restaurants in Puyallup due to previous negative experiences. After sifting through Yelp and Google Reviews, I saw that Bangkok Thai has a new owner and new chef/cook as well! This place is a little gem in Puyallup. Normally, I would drive to Seattle to find an authentic Thai restaurant -- bring me all of the Padek, Kapee, and Nam Pla. Their food portions are big. You will leave the restaurant full and still have leftovers. Their papaya salad (Lao Style) is legitimate. The Padek was dark and pungent. They were not afraid to add the pickled crab into the Som Tum, which is how we make it at home. Their Pad Kra Pao, was made with love! It was obvious that they minced their own chicken with the use of a meat cleaver. Also, they did not skimp out on the Holy Basil (this is a must for any Pad Kra Pao)! Some Thai restaurants will cheat you out of the classic taste of this dish by using the regular Thai Basil. Other Thai restaurants will also charge you for adding a fried egg to this dish while Bangkok Thai make it a must-add without additional cost. The service is great. They constantly checked on us and refilled our water cups. Because it was a cold and gloomy night, they put a heater near us to ensure we were warm while we enjoyed our meals. I truly hope they do not change their authentic flavors, generous food portions, and amazing services. If you're looking for Authentic Thai food (the kind of food you'll find in a Thai family house), this place is it! Otherwise, you'll need to drive to Seattle. read more
