I really liked working with Ayoub Carpet Service. Nancy responded promptly to my YELP query and she was so pleasant to speak with. We quickly arranged to have an oriental rug cleaned. I was able to drop my rug off (my preference) at the Falls Church location, which was closer for me. Once there, the friendly staff unloaded the rug and wrote up the order. The rug was ready when promised and looked beautiful. The delivery men carefully rolled out the carpet and placed it where I wanted it. I almost went with another local carpet cleaner that's been around for years and I have used before but when I went online to look at their reviews, there were nothing but problems. I dropped my rug off at the dry cleaning location in Merrifield, VA. Within an hour I was contacted by Ayoub to confirm my cleaning and the price. They applied an on-line coupon immediately to my cleaning. I called to check on the rug after several days and I was told the floor manager wasn't satisfied with the rug and was going to clean it further. I felt like this was outstanding and they were looking for perfection. Within a few days they delivered my rug to my home and they were courteous and professional. The rug looked outstanding and smelled great! The price was unbelievably reasonable! I have used other rug cleaners in the area and I have been disgusted with the customer service and finished product! There are no hidden fees here and customer service was outstanding! I just got a rug back from Ayoub and it was a fabulous experience all around. I took my rug over to the NOVA dry cleaning drop off since it is very close to my home. The price was right (especially with the Yelp coupon) and they were finished with the rug in about a week or so. I'm back on Yelp to get another coupon for another rug that needs to be cleaned! Great! I had two hand-made wool area rugs that were in desperate need of a cleaning. Between the long winter and having a pet going in and out they were really in need. I was a bit nervous/embarrassed dropping these off because they were pretty dingy and being white and red I wasn't sure they could get them clean. Well, a week or so later they called and let me know they were ready. All I can say is WOW they look brand new. All the stains and wear was gone. I couldn't believe it. They will come and pick your carpets up and drop them off (even in DC!) when they are done but it is $25 cheaper if you take them there and pick them up yourself. Ayoub Carpet Service-ACS is the Nordstrom's of many things. Carpet cleaning, carpet repair, tile and grout cleaning, etc. I have been a customer for many years and have been happy with the results. And when I wasn't, they have bent over backwards to make it right. I recently had some oriental rugs cleaned and because I don't have pets or young children in the house, I almost thought that I was being silly to have them cleaned. When they were delivered, I was amazed at how vibrant they all looked! Ayoub even placed them back! I had an issue with the tile and grout cleaning, and they were 'Johnny on the Spot' to try to rectify it. I would use them again and again and would recommend them highly. Honestly, I'm so used to poor customer service just being normal, it's like I'm floating on cloud #9 when I find a company as good as Ayoub (which is a rare event)! First, we have used them for quite awhile to clean our giant oriental rugs, including after a major flood, and they are very professional and efficient. If there is ever any issue, such as a stain they cannot get out or a bend in the rug, they discuss it with you and are upfront. Recently, we needed to move around a bunch of rugs, I believe the biggest one is around 500 pounds, and there was no way we could do this. We hired Ayoub and they were able to come the next day (New Year's Eve) and sent four men to move the rugs for us. They were so nice and professional, helpful and quick. Willy, the team leader, also has an amazing eye for design and measurement, which was sorely needed since these big rugs each only fits in certain rooms, etc. Thank you for helping us out! Make sure you get your quote in writing!! I used the "Request a Quote" button through Yelp to get a quote from Ayoub Carpet Service. My message said (and I have a screenshot to back this up): "I am moving out of my townhouse at the end of the month and per my lease, I need the carpet cleaned and pet treated. I would like to schedule this for the 4th or 5th of February. The townhome is 2400 sq ft, but the main level is all hardwoods. There are 3 bedrooms, a basement, and 2 stairwells that need to be done. Could you please provide a quote to complete this. You can send it to: (my email address). Thank you, Clara." I got a phone call from Lisa with Ayoub the next day. She said the owner had personally seen my request and since the house was going to be unfurnished, they could give me a deal for $275. She said that would be the base price and any stain treatments would be extra. I told her that I'd check with my husband and get back to her. She sent an email followup and confirmed that our address was already in the system, but under my husbands name. I called back the next day and spoke with a man, I believe his name was Josh. I asked to speak to Lisa since she had originally given me the price, but Josh said that Lisa wasn't in. I told him the situation, he looked in the system and said he saw notes about the deal, and that he would be able to honor the quote. I went ahead and booked. I also let him know that while I would let the crew into the home, I would need to go to straight work. I asked if I had to be present, or they could just complete the job and then lock up the house afterwards. He said that would be no problem, but that they had to have a credit card on file to do so. I was fine with that and he took my credit card number. I thought everything was set and done. On the day of the cleaning, the crew arrived on time at the home. They were polite and professionally dressed. We walked through the house, and the crew asked about the stains that they saw but since those were all there when we moved in, I said that I did not want any additional treatments to them. After we completed the walk through, he said he'd write up an invoice for me. He handed it to me to sign, and the price was $325! I said that I had been quoted $275 by Lisa. He didn't know anything about that and said that I'd need to call the office myself. I called, with the phone on speaker, and asked to speak to Lisa. When she answered, I explained who I was and what was going on. While I'm doing that, the guy is saying to Lisa that there are 2 stairwells. She says to me that she didn't remember giving me that quote and had to look it up in the system. She pulls it up and says she sees the details of what I needed done but the quoted price of $275 was not in the system. What?! She confirms what needs to be cleaned, puts me on hold, then comes back and says yes, it's $325. Apparently stairwells are $50 each and in the system, she only saw 1 stairwell, so that's why she quoted me $275. I said no, please pull up my original Yelp request, it clearly stated 2 stairwells. She said she didn't have access to that. I told her this was unacceptable, that I had agreed to $275 and that was all I was going to pay. She put me on hold and came back saying that they'd make a one-time exception and waive the fee for the additional stairwell. She went on about how I needed to be clear about how many stairwells there were - which I had been!! I was annoyed but I need this done and I needed to get back to work, so I let it all go. We hang up, the guy at my house puts the new price on the invoice and I sign. He asked for my credit card, but I explained that I had already put it on file when I booked the appointment. I left them to do the cleaning and I went to work. About 30 minutes later, I get a call from Lisa saying that there is no credit card on file, that they don't even keep cards on file for security reasons. So I ask, why did Josh take the number to begin with? She said she didn't know, but they don't have a form of payment to charge for today's cleaning. Now I'm beyond annoyed but I give her the card information - again. Once I got home and inspected the work, the cleaning was well done. There were even some stains that either lightened up quite a bit, or went away completely. 3 stars since I was happy with the work done, but not happy about all the drama, confusion, and annoyance leading up to it. Moving is a stressful time all on it's own, I did not need the extra nuisance. In the grand scheme of things, I know $50 difference isn't a lot, but it was the principle of the matter. I was given a quote and expect a company to honor their quotes. I'm glad they did in the end, but I didn't like the hassle. This would have been a lot easier to solve if I had had the quote in writing. I usually get one, but with the craziness of moving, it slipped my mind. Don't make my mistake. read more

They picked up and delivered and did such a good job, we had them back to clean the carpeted areas of the house. I used Ayoub Caret Service a few months ago. I was excited because I had a friend that used them and then I started reading reviews on yelp and heard all good things. My rugs look like they were vacuumed and not cleaned. Once I called in regarding that, I spoke with some supervisor that was very short with me and rude. From reading other reviews, I don't doubt that they do a great job on carpet cleanings. In fact, I received a recommendation from a family member to use their services. Unfortunately, once the technician arrived they would not honor the price I was quoted when I made the booking. Even after showing them the email that stated what I was quoted, they refused to offer the agreed upon price saying that the booking agent must have made a mistake and not informed me of a minimum price they "must" charge. After not being able to speak directly to a manager and going back and forth several times with their receptionist for the better part of an hour I said no thank you, sent the techs away and decided to look for another company, They budged slightly on their mandatory minimum but by not coming down $40 to meet what they quoted me they've lost a potential repeat customer in me and my family member who had already used them on more than one occasion. read more

Professional and friendly staff (from customer service picking up phone to delivery men to manager handling my complaint). I would give them more stars but my area rug was slightly damaged in the padding area underneath. My rug was not worn out and relatively very new. I called Ayoub to have it cleaned because there was a flood in my house that stained the rug. The Ayoub delivery guys came on time to pick up my rug. When they delivered it a week later, I noticed two small areas underneath that had been torn. It looked like the torn circles were where the rug may have been folded or hung because it was a straight line. I noticed it when they unrolled the rug. I called customer service and the lady said to not accept it but have the men bring it back. A manager promptly followed up with me the next business day and offered to have it fixed by padding it. He said that moderately priced rugs tend to wear easily underneath. You cannot tell that the padding was torn from looking at the rug from above and it didn't ruin the structure of the rug. He wasn't sure why or how it happened. I believe that maybe there was a sharp object or something that must've pulled onto the rug on its way to my place or in the delivery van. I would suggest people to have snap shots of their rugs before it gets serviced in case something like this happens. I think that would be helpful for a lot of things you want fixed. read more

First off the lady on the phone quoted one price and said it included the sanitizing and deodorizing. When they showed up to pick up the rugs they said each of those things were extra and I mean substantially extra. Secondly it took them 3 weeks to get my rugs back after I was told 10-14 days. I called after 16 days and someone told me he would check on my rugs and call me back and never did. So I called after 20 days and voila they happen to be ready and can be delivered the next day. I have no faith if I had not called that they would have ever called me. I had a small unraveling on one of the rugs and asked for an estimate to repair it. I told the lady on the phone this and then reiterated with the guys that picked up the rugs that I wanted an estimate. The lady on the phone made it sound like it would be very inexpensive. They just dropped them off and they did the repairs without asking me and charged me $35 for a 1.5 inch repair. I don't know if they are clean as I haven't unrolled them yet but I would never use them again or recommend them for their lack of customer service. I told the delivery men that I didn't authorize the repair and they were like oh well your card has already been charged. read more
