I've used Ayoub twice to clean an expensive, handmade Afghan rug. Both times they did excellent work. 1st time it was pee stains from 2 puppies. 2nd, just this month (Mar25) it was bright yellow vomit from one of those puppies eating 1/2 a jar of yellow treats. All over. He threw up all evening. Not once did he make it outside. I didn't think the stains would come out at all. They just brought my rug back and it's amazing. I stopped in over my lunch break from work, picked out some samples, had somebody to measure same day. I received the samples from the manufacturer within 2 days, asked for a quote which was provided next business day and placed our order. Within two weeks we had our runner installed, start to finish. January 2024 After another carpet cleaning service did a poor job on my wall-to-wall cream-colored wool carpeting-- leaving a stain!--I engaged Ayoub. They were extremely professional in every way, and their technician Willy Mejia did an excellent job in completely removing the foot-wide dark stain. The only reason this isn't a one star is the work was good. From the moment the van showed up I had a feeling I had made the wrong choice in contracting Ayoub to sand and restain my hardwood floor. Not only was my work contracted to another company, which I could have done myself otherwise why would have I gone with Ayoub, but the communication between the contractor and flooring team and myself was abysmal. I can't count the number of the times I heard, "that wasn't communicated with me." When the flooring team arrived I plainly stated as close to medium brown as possible. Here's a photo of the stain I'm aiming for, sent it to everyone. The first stain was basically black, I asked for a lighter brown they come back with two more options, I'm told these will work. I select one. The stain came out looking like a corkboard. We ask the floor team to come back. The contractor who arrived extremely late in the day, costing a whole day of work after being told he'd arrive in the morning, pulls out a swatch guide and brochure, hands it to my wife and asks what color she would like. He went on to boast about how he mixes custom colors for clients to get the right stain. I stood there dumbfounded that we are talking more about the stain color AFTER the stain had placed and then told it was going to cost another $1000 to apply another coat. Ayoub contractor acquiesce to not charging us more after I explain situation and I'm told it'll add just one more day. The team came out the next morning put the stain down said they'd be back later for the poly coat. Middle of the afternoon no one has arrived. We start calling Ayoub, they state they're going to put one coat of poly down tomorrow and one the next day. After demanding they fulfill what they promised they came that day one coat of poly and another in the morning. I won't even mention how no one explained that we basically needed to be out of the house for another week because of the off-gasing from the oil poly coat they put on. Even after explaining to the Ayoub rep my wife is pregnant and can't be around fumes. Luckily, we had friends we could stay with for another WEEK. Just had a basement berber wall-to-wall carpet steam-cleaned. Carpet was 15+ years old with several discoloration marks. We didn't notice any difference across the entire carpet after the cleaning. Take your $600 elsewhere. We are very disappointed and intend to get another rug cleaner. read more

In late June, company picked up 3 rugs for cleaning. 2 returned on August 11, but the third needed a repair and wasn't ready. I was given impression that the repair was underway, and I paid for cleaning and repair. Since then, I have heard nothing. Left voicemail. No response Update: the company reached out yesterday. The rug was located, the repair had been done when they said but had been put into the wrong bin, I. E. It fell through the cracks. I loved working with this company. I had wood floors installed in one bedroom and they were so tolerant of my fussiness. However, I don't know why I was so fussy, they matched the floor color to the hallway near perfectly. I also agonized over the color for the carpet in two other bedrooms. Aaron ordered me countless samples, including two large samples that allowed me to select just the right color. The installers were prompt and professional and left my house clean. I used Ayoub to stretch the carpet in my bedroom that my dog had bunched up, and clean and sanitize all the carpets in the house. They were so professional and did an amazing job. They even gave me recommendations on how to maintain my carpets cleaned. One thing I loved is that when the rep came to stretch my carpet, I asked if he could tell me if I need to replace the carpet in one of the bedroom or just get it cleaned. I bought a wool rug in Afghanistan a few years ago and I knew I needed to have it cleaned regularly, especially since it is in a relatively high traffic area. However, I just never really got around to it. That is, until I was dogsitting for a friend and didn't quite take my furry friend out in time one morning. Of course, he chose the nicest, most expensive thing I have on the floor to relieve himself on. Serves me right! I quickly looked up what to do when this happens, and doused the area many times with tap water (blotting up what I'd poured, then repeating until I couldn't smell anything). At that point I realized that I had what appeared to be a very clean spot on an otherwise very dirty rug. I did some research and ended up emailing 3 different companies in the DC area to get a quote. All responded about the same time and with similar pricing, although Nanci from Ayoub was the only person to call me to ask more questions. Although I had blotted out as much of the urine as I could, she recommended a special pet/urine treatment. The price was still reasonable (not cheap, but reasonable). Furthermore, she offered a pick-up the next day at no additional charge. It turned out that I was going to be driving to Falls Church that day anyway, so I took my rug in and talked to Dave, who was just as professional and easy to deal in person with as Nanci was over the phone. The rug was ready in a week -- well within the estimated time frame. I just unrolled it and put it back on my floor - and man - I had forgotten how brilliant the colors were when I bought it. Words really can't express how fantastic the cleaning job made the rug look, and what's more, there's no visual evidence of the rug's encounter with the dog. Struggling between a 3 and 4. But, I was a bit disappointed. Ayoub is the best in the area and gets amazing reviews on Angie's List. My tiles and two rugs were cleaned a few weeks ago. The technicians were great with my request to put paint drop clothes under the Flor tiles to prevent any water/solution to seep through to the floors. For the reputation and cost I was expecting a five stars. No doubt, Ayoub is great. And I might have them back again, but I probably would ask for more attention to be paid and see if further extraction could be done. The work was done very fast. I had no idea it would be so quick. They did show up earlier than scheduled, perhaps better than later? I wasn't quite ready, but they did ask if it was okay. Again, the technicians were very polite. I am pretty easy going in general, but when it comes to the house, my expectations are a little higher. read more

Incredibly disappointed. Dirty rugs looked exactly the same after they were said to be cleaned. When I told the guy who brought them back to the house that I was very dissatisfied he said well they look okay to me. I am so surprised at this carpet cleaning service. I was quoted one amount over the phone, however, when the technician arrived the cost was four times the amount to actually clean the carpet. I was promoting what he calls a "deep cleaning". In other words, the amount I was quoted over the phone was simply for a vacuuming with water. If there was a stain or two I would have to get a deep cleaning for four times the amount i was quoted. I refused the service as I felt I was being misled. When the manager called and wanted to negotiate another price, which was still significantly higher than I was quoted, I told him "no thank you" and he hung up on me! read more

For new carpet installation, I cannot recommend Ayoub Carpet highly enough! We had a very bad experience trying to get carpet ordered and installed with Lowe's (see my Lowe's review for that tale). I called Ayoub after seeing their name on the internet as a highly recommended carpet retailer, and they were able to schedule Lou to come out the next day for a measurement and estimate. I also stopped by the Falls Church store, where David was glad to help me go ahead and pick out the carpet we wanted. Lou did come the next day, and you can tell from talking with him that he really cares for his customers and has quite the experience in the industry. His estimate was lower than Lowe's by several hundred dollars, and for similar carpet too! It took exactly a week for the carpet to arrive from the day we ordered it, and Lou was able to schedule installation for immediately the next morning. The installation team, headed by Melvin, was great as well. We had two rooms totaling just under 400 square feet, and the team was able to complete the whole installation process (from moving furniture in and out, removing the old carpet and installing the new stuff) in under 2 hours. If Yelp allowed, I would have taken a 1/2 star off as they initially didn't clean up fuzz shedded by the old carpet as they dragged it out of our building. When I pointed this out, they did oblige and vacuum it up. So all was good at the end. Lou followed up after and I appreciated that customer service he provided. If we need to get carpet again in the future, we will call Ayoub first next time! read more

I purchased Yelp deal for $100. the mobile app charged my account twice for $100. I contacted Yelp and the 877 number that was on my credit card statement.they said they would refund duplicate charge. that was several weeks ago and Yelp has not refunded the duplicate charge. I have put through a chargeback. the 877 number is now disconnected. It's been a big hassle. Took my rug to the Falls Church store. We cleaned it as expected. I have used this Carpet Cleaning Service before and have never had problems like this. AYOUB did a decent job but yelp app is a 1 star. read more

I had four Persian carpets cleaned here and they all came back in great shape. I didn't notice any color runs, which since they have natural dye is possible without careful handling. I realized after I picked them up that they incorrectly applied the discount and overcharged me about $10 but it wasn't worth returning to fix it. They missed three different delivery dates on a carpet I brought in to be cleaned. Each missed delivery was met with finger pointing at the last person I dealt with and no real solution was offered other than me driving to their Chantilly location to pick it up myself (a 40 minute drive each way). At one point I spoke to the delivery driver and he rudely told me that 'no one told him about delivering it to my house' (that was round two, after they missed a first delivery to their Falls Church store and I asked them to bring to my home on a Saturday). A one week turnaround for the cleaning turned into nearly three weeks without a carpet on my floor. They finally managed to get it to Falls Church but when I picked it up was met with a shrug about the poor service. This is after spending over $200 to get a 6x9 carpet cleaned. Never again. read more
