10/10 stars ! Yesterday was my 4th occasion staying here and every time checking in is smooth and easy. The service at the front desk is great, everyone is friendly and attentive. They ALWAYS follow room instructions regarding no feather pillows. The breakfast is always excellent, one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. The gentleman making the breakfast is always nice and they are great at replenishing everything. I'm always happy with my family's stay here and would definitely be back once again!

A nice hotel. Compared to the Costa Mesa one, this one is better. Rooms are big, bathrooms are nice, the layout of the hotel is pretty, both the indoor and outdoor spaces are nice. The fire is lit in the fireplace at night and lemon water is placed near the front desk. The gym is decent and clean. Breakfast in the morning has generous options that switch out slightly each morning. Staff is accommodating and kind.

Nice staff and everyone that worked here was super friendly. We did not realize hotel is right off the freeway. We did upgrade to courtyard facing room and our room (#202) was little further than most from freeway. I still heard the traffic all night long and husband heard couple above us rolling in at midnight and taking a bath.So no sleep lol Free breakfast that was packed to the gills with families. Definitely passing on this while we visit our daughter (she lives in Long Beach-moving to Huntington Beach) We'll stick to our favorite,Pacific Inn. No where to walk near Ayers and terrible location!

The Ayres Hotel is on Seal Beach Blvd and very close to restaurants, many drive throughs, stores, and gas stations. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly when we checked in. The hotel rooms were very spacious with vaulted ceilings and a clean atmosphere. The bathroom was larger than a standard hotel. The high point of the hotel stay was its free, authentic, fresh made breakfast. They have staff members in their cafe who make fresh eggs, potatoes, French toast, pancakes and more. Again it's a great, amazing free breakfast juice, milk and coffee. Customer service here was exceptional and their advanced texting technology to check on guests and communicate was a very nice touch. Overall, it was a 5 star experience at this great hotel.

We keep coming back and there is a great reason for this. Well many reasons. The people. The location. The comfy beds. The great expanded free breakfast. Belinda & Jose at breakfast service are the most amazing people ever at any hotel shows their passion and desire to make customers happy and boy do they do that with some great breakfast foods This is the only hotel in the area that has HDMI hookups with the right remote to do work In the room. Also the only hotel to still have a hot tub with the pool. Love the patio rooms. The only things holding back from a 5star review is our closing doors and gates that slam and shake. Please fix the nosy closures but can't wait to come back.

Friendly staff, room cleanliness/amenities, breakfast food, room construction quality/maintenance, and freeway access are all top notch.

Ask the Community - Ayres Hotel Seal Beach

The rooms that have patio access, is it a common area that is noisy at night? We want to stay in the room but we have young children and don't want them to not be able to sleep if noisy.

It can be because the freeway is near by, as is the parking lot.

    What time is check-in?

    I checked in at 3pm

However, in fairness to Hampton Inn, they were booked full the night before due to a double whammy of the first day of California State University Long Beach graduation ceremonies and Seal Beach's Gay Pride parade. And they offered free snacks while we waited in the lobby for our room to become ready. On the flip side of that we really appreciated the hotel's generous standard policy of a noon checkout time. The whole hotel was very clean: lobby, cafe, elevators, and room. Our stay was very quiet due to it being a Sunday night, which is typically the slowest night of the week for hotels. We'd booked the suite with king bed and whirlpool bath on the top floor. The tree tops provided a nice foliage view out the windows. Two layers of roll down window shades offered filtered light or full blackout. The bathroom was spacious. We didn't end up using the whirlpool bath but the dual head shower which features an overhead rain head and handheld wall mount shower was a nice surprise. If you don't have one at home (we don't) and have never tried one (I hadn't) it's worth experiencing, especially if you've been wondering about having one installed someday. Water pressure and heat were good. The shower itself was also spacious, a good 4'W x 5'L is my guess. I was told only the suites with whirlpool baths have the overhead rain shower by a young employee who inflected her answer like a question so maybe you should double check that. A great array of affordable eateries are on the hotel's parking lot: Del Taco, Subway, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Sunny Side Cafe, and and a Sushi/Poki Bowl place. The sushi place is only open Monday through Friday. Hampton Inn doesn't post their breakfast menu for the Seal Beach location online (at this writing). It included all the basic selections that will hit the spot. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties (which may become bacon strips on other days), muffins or scones, oatmeal with choice of brown sugar and dried cranberries, cold cereals w/milk, flavored yogurts, chopped fruit combo, whole fruits (banana/apple/orange), coffee, tea and juices (orange, apple and two others I don't recall). I don't remember if they offered waffles/pancakes.

The general manager SHAUN was our host for the time we stayed and very accommodating. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated. I felt really comfortable here. I would definitely be comeback in the near future hands down . The Inn literally a 3 minute walk and you touch sand and then you see the ocean and horizon. From our room you can smell a hint of the ocean when you open the sliding door to your balcony room. The Ocean surf Inn is the neighborhood of sunset beach and is a low key area so it's quiet . There are a few restaurants and bars that are walking distance and also near a gas station with decent prices on gas. There is parking , but the spaces can get a little tight, if you have a bigger vehicle, might want to consider parking in the street but check with management first . Our room had a mini freezer/fridge and microwave! Which we love because we always have leftovers and drinks we need to store. The flatscreen was a decent size and had the basic TV channels and some movie channels (HBO) etc. water pressure in the shower was strong and the A/C worked perfectly fine. Our king sized bed was just how I liked it, a tiny bit firm where I don't sink in and so soft . Thy do have a roof top patio I didn't get to enjoy but I'll keep a note for nextime I come. I will definitely recommend this establishment to family and friends coming from out of town .

The front desk people were friendly and the location has some eateries shops and a Trader Joe's almost right next door, as well as a Costco behind that. Despite the location being on a fairly busy street, the soundproofing seemed really good here as I did not hear any traffic noise while sleeping (I did close the heavy blackout curtain) and it seemed nice and quiet. We got the large one King 'bedroom' suite, which has the bedroom completely separate with a door, from the outside area with the bathroom, full size kitchen and queen sized sofabed. This is great if you want two separate rooms. The kitchen was really large as well, with marble type countertops and even a large kitchen island. There seems to be plenty of parking here and we could even park our car so that we could see it from the room. The breakfast was standard Homewood Suites, ie., better than a lot of included breakfasts at other hotels. Compared to another Homewood that I stayed at recently near Disneyland, it's like night and day! This one is so much better.
