It should be noted that with a couple of exceptions the wines are all seem to be made in the Willcox, AZ area which is located in South East Arizona. We visited the following tasting rooms during our week long visit to the area. 1. The Jerome Winery 2. Arizona Stronghold 3. Merkin Vineyards 4. Winery 101 5. Pillsbury Wine Company 6. Tantrum Wine 7. Winery 1912 8. Salt Mine Wine 9. Carlson Creek We found wines that we enjoyed at each of these with focus on the Syrah and Syrah blends. Most of these red wines are very smooth and silky with a fruit forward flavor. We found these wines to be actually better than many you would find in the Mclaren Vale region of South Australia, which is famous for their Syrahs. Our favorite hands down were the wines from the Pillsbury Wine Company. Each of these winery's charge between $12-15 for a tasting but most, with the exception of the Jerome Winery and Winery 1912, waived the tasting fee with a purchase of a bottle. We also noted that Tantrum Wine and Winery 1912 did not offer water with their tasting which I believe is pretty important. All in all if you enjoy wines and wine tasting the Verde Valley Wine Trail is a must do.

The first stop, Alcantera in Camp Verde was a nice gem. I had never heard of them before and it was a good start to the tour. Lunch at Farm Go Go Cafe in Cornville was insanely delicious! Farm fresh ingredients. Everything that's included in the experience is wild: the ride to and from NAZ, the wine tastings AND lunch. She provided snacks and water in the vehicle as well. I 100% recommend people try this out as a fun day trip with friends or even as a romantic day date. I can't wait to see her business grow when she's able to take groups bigger than three/four. That section has been replaced with the Olive Mill's service bar. The retail shop has expanded - still the oils and vinegars that we know and love, but also other dry sundries like pasta, spices and seasonings. There's a little deli area with loaves of bread, focaccia, fresh cheese. And there's the spa merch - for soaps, balms, and the like. They still offer tours as well. The food is still outstanding. There is a lot of seating inside and out. But it does get VERY BUSY, so yes- during peak brunch hours it can be very hard to find a table. I don't go often enough, but love it every time I go.
