Thankfully, our server was knowledgeable and took the time to let us know that the shrimp is cooked in the broth, meaning every bowl is exposed to shrimp, even if shrimp is not listed in the dish. We really appreciated the transparency, but this is a significant risk for anyone with a shrimp or shellfish allergy, so I wanted to share this as a fair warning to others. I called the other location at Higley and Baseline to ask if they prepare their broth the same way. Unfortunately, the person who answered the phone hung up on me, which added to the frustration and led us to change our dinner plans and try a ramen spot instead. Decent spot for Vietnamese Cuisine. They have a good selection, but if you're looking for more authentic Vietnamese dishes, they will be limited. The pho was flavorful and was a good portion. After being greeted warmly by the staff, I ordered the following to go-- Steak pho - 4 stars - Portion size for the protein were good, and the broth was very flavorful but slightly oily. Not a showstopper but after preparing everything the soup was delicious and I would definitely order it again. Discovered this spot in our neighborhood, and I'm so glad I did! I love a good bowl of phó every now and then, and this place definitely knows what they're doing. The broth is always flavorful, and my boyfriend and I usually get the P3 and P5 phó bowls along with their pork and shrimp fresh spring rolls--always a hit. Service can be a bit slow, but I wouldn't take a star off for that. The place is very clean and inviting. It's a bit pricey, but I think that's just the location (Gilbert/Chandler). I pass this place all the time and finally stopped in to grab lunch after dropping my dog off at daycare. Placed the order online and came in person to pick it up, but it said it would take almost 35mins to be ready and I had to be back at work by 1. Thankfully they rushed the order for me and got it out by 1245 so I could make it back in time! I got the spring rolls with tofu and the vermicelli with tofu. The spring rolls were fully stuffed (so much so the seams were ripping), and the tofu was nice long slices instead of thick chunks. The only negative was they only gave one small ramekin with the peanut sauce (definitely not enough for the size of the two rolls). Definitely ask for extra because the sauce is BOMB!! The vermicelli dish was also a large portion. The veggies were thinly sliced and plentiful, the tofu was again the same thinner slices, and the vermicelli was perfectly cooked. I wasn't sure about the dressing it came with so I just kept it plain and added some stir-fry sauce to moisten the noodles. I prefer the tofu to be extra crispy but there wasn't a place on the online order form to send in notes or make requests. Overall really good and I will definitely be back and try to eat in the dining room without needing to rush. read more

Great place for pho! This was our first time, had a decent crowd for lunch so we were excited. We ordered kids fried rice, and two tai, Bo vien pho and 3 waters. I prefer to have my steak on the side but as I read the menu, they charge you to serve it that way if you eat in, but if you do takeaway there is no charge. That was a little confusing. The fried rice came in like 3 minutes, still waiting for water, another 6-7 min go by and our bowls arrive again no waters so we had to ask again if we could get some waters. The restaurant looks great and is decorated as you would normally see. The pho broth was some of the best I have had, the portions of steak were small and like I said earlier they charge to serve it on the side. The meatballs were large and tasty and they served lots of onions. Will go again, just press to get water before entrees. Oh one other point, that kids portion of friend rice off the kids menu, $9 that is a bit steep. read more

The interior was very relaxing, definitely had "zen" vibes. The service was a bit slow but they were busy. The food was definitely what really blew us away! I tried the Chicken Pad Thai, and my Dad got the Steamed Fried Rice with Chicken. The food was unbelievably delicious-- it really knocked our socks off. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were large and steaming hot, and the flavors were on point. I especially loved my Pad Thai, it was delicious. I'll definitely be back to AZ Pho & Grill. I've been to my fair share of pho/ bahn mi/ Vietnamese cuisine since i was a teenager growing up in the Bay Area initially. Finding great Asian places out here is like finding a diamond in the rough. This place had a very different array of things to choose from. Which is great in some senses but from the pho, to the fried rice to the vermicelli bowl and bahn mi nothing had great flavor tbh. More for just because we have it and needs to be eaten i guess ill eat these leftovers. My husband said his pork bahn mi lacked any kind of flavor and was incredibly bland. So if you like zero flavor this is the place for you and if you like waiting around for your server to show up at any time another great spot and don't expect them to be prompt or even offer anyone waters. We had to go up to ask for the check, had to go up to ask for Togo containers. This place really lacks any kind of sense of urgency which is absolutely wild to me. Def won't be back or recommend to anyone. read more

After discovering AZ Pho & Grill, my husband and I decided to venture to the other two locations as well to see how they ranked against each other. We usually go for the P2 (Steak pho). After trying the steak pho at each location, we noticed that there were slight differences with the pho broth. For this location, it ranked as #2 of the 3 in our opinion. The broth here is flavorful and tasty but it isn't as aromatic as the one at the 885 N. 54th St. location. We also noticed this location had higher foot traffic over the other two locations which does then add a little bit of wait time to receiving your food too. Overall, I would recommend this place for pho enthusiasts to try. Service was friendly, there was a decent amount of seating, place is nicely decorated, and the place is clean. One of most favorite Pho places in the east valley! And they are always busy and you can always expect a wait, especially during the dinner hour. Their dining room is small but the staff are so efficient that it doesn't take long to get seated or to get your orders. And you are never made to feel like you need to hurry up and eat and move on because of the people waiting to get in. I also always notice that diners don't stay too long after finishing, everyone is aware that others are waiting. Went with a friend for dinner and after about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. You check in through the kiosk by the front door and then you get a text when your place in line is up. Friend ordered the seafood pho and I also got one to go for the wife, who wasn't able to join us this night. Friend's first time here and loved the pho! Said it was some of the best she has ever had. This pho is full of crab, fish, and veggies and everyone I know who tries this one loves it. I'm not a big soup fan so got the crab puffs (love them!) and the Cashew Chicken, which is one of my go-to's here! I always ask them to hold the bell pepper (not a big fan) but so much other good veggies and chicken and cashews! The sauce is so flavorful and there is always leftovers for the next day! I have to mention the to-go seafood pho because the way they package it to go is so phenomenal! So the broth is at the bottom of big plastic bowl which is then topped with a topper where the seafood and veggies sit. When you open it, you pop the top part and dump everything into the broth and then your thai leaves, and other toppings are in a baggie to add to the experience. Most places just put everything together in a to-go bowl and there you have it. Pho Chandler takes such care with their food! This was my first time having oxtail (oxtail pho). Google says it should be tender and fall off the bone. The serving here was tough and chewy. It was impossible to remove any meat using chopsticks and the spoon, so I had to get a fork and pry what few scraps of meat would come off of the bone. The primary focus seems to be on quantity and not quality, the bowls were filled to the brim with broth and noodles, but one broth was lukewarm while the other was piping hot. We ordered on their website. This was close by and the parking was not bad. There were a lot of people in here eating when we went to pick up our order. We ordered the A4 Shrimp Spring Rolls ($5.50), the P4 Steak And Meatball Pho ($11.95), the N4 Hue Spicy Beef Soup (Bun Bo Hue) ($12.75), the V3 Vermicelli With Grilled Beef with Egg Rolls ($16.25) and added Grilled Pork ($3.50 more). We picked up our order and brought it back home. It was a lot of food but we wanted to try as much as we could to see what was good. The Shrimp Spring Rolls were good, the Steak and Meatball Pho was delicious, the Bun Bo Hue was not bad, and the Vermicelli With Grilled Beef with Egg Rolls was good. The portion size was small, the flavor was just okay and the pork tasted chewy like a rehydrated jerky. And it was on the pricey side given how small it was. The restaurant itself was clean and nice but doesn't make up for the food. The service was also mediocre as we had to flag down the server a number of times despite there being only a few customers.
