The portion size was small, the flavor was just okay and the pork tasted chewy like a rehydrated jerky. And it was on the pricey side given how small it was. This is my go to place for Vietnamese food. I crave for the bun Bo hue I used to have in California. This place does a great good with Pho, Bun Bo hue, ban mi sandwiches. The pho & bun Bo hue side veggies are fresh. The noodles are cooked perfectly, soup not too salty just right enough meat for the meal and the veggies are cut as I expect. The drinks: I usually get a Thai iced tea unless they have sugar cane drink. I love the sugar cane drinks that is freshly squeezed from that expensive machine. Don't care for the powder version. Anyways, the Thai iced tea has great flavor. Not too sweet and ice is enough. I do not like their boba however. It is too soft and I don't like that there isn't much with the chew. This location has really gone downhill in the last 6 months. My partner and I are regulars and although I appreciate them knowing our order I still expect common service consideration like checking on the food, bringing the bill, offering a to-go box or checking if we have silverware. These are basics. It sometimes takes over 20 mins to get the check and they do the bare minimum. The food is always good, except for a couple weeks ago when the chicken tasted strange and we got food poisoning. We called to let them know and they simply said "ok thanks!" The reason I am writing this review is the poor quality of service upon arrival. My wife and I came in on a Thursday night and there was no greeting. Normally I would say that that is fine if you would be seated right away. But we waited 15 minutes before being seated and even though they had a table that was open when we first arrived. This is the third time that this has happened to us. I will say that the food is good and authentic however, because of the lack of respect for customers we will be looking for other pho restaurants. Can be better. Too expensive. We went in with 2 people and had Phở & coffee. The noodles were obviously reheated in the microwave as they clumped together at the bottom of the bowl. The broth was pretty average. Accompanying herbs were lacking, no thorny coriander (ngò gai) for Phở is a huge miss. Service were OK, we told the young girl what we wanted but she was confused until we gave her the actual item number on the menu. Vietnamese coffee was not that good, a tiny amount for $8. Decent pho restaurant! Didn't realize there were multiple locations so I wasn't expecting much especially since moving from California. But to my surprise it was pretty decent! I ordered a rice plate with grilled pork with a side of chicken broth. The grilled pork was marinated and flavorful and it went well with the soup on the side. I couldn't finish it so I took it home and ate it later. The next time I came I ordered the kids pho with steak on the side - this comes with no garnish just soup and meat and noodles but it was just the right amount for me. The soup is pretty good. Not too salty or sweet. It's just right so I can't complain about the taste. Service is fast but it does take a little while for the food to come out so don't be in a rush. Came in on a Sunday evening to satisfy our pho craving. We ordered the shrimp and pork summer rolls, chicken pho, and a hue spicy beef soup aka bun bo hue (think spicy pho with thicker rice noodles). Our server brought pork summer rolls to us, and when we asked where the shrimp was, she replied "No, you ordered pork summer rolls". There was an awkward pause, and I asked if she could bring us some shrimp on the side, and we'd eat it atop the rolls (and pay for it). She seemed very hesitant to make any adjustments (as CLEARLY stated in their menu), went to check with the cook, but eventually agreed, bringing us a couple shrimps sliced down the middle. We also ordered their thai tea, which was good, but we were not aware the bubbles would be "crystal boba". That was on us, but just a note to others if they expect the black, tapioca bubbles. As for the pho/bbh, the broth was not the most flavorful, and the serving size was on the smaller side. I understand it takes a lot of time and effort to make pho broth so I don't mind paying more if they raise menu prices, but if the flavor is not there, I do mind paying more :( read more

So dissatisfied , heard so many good things about this place. To my disappointment my order took over an hour when the text said 30-35 minutes. I tried to be understanding since it was a Friday. Then when I received my order I ask the girl for sauce and condiments. She said they were in the bag and didn't want to give me more chili. Mind you I ordered 5 pho bowls, spring rolls and egg rolls. Plenty of sides and mix-ins so you will be satisfied! I get the original. Tried others options here and are just as good. My son gets the shrimp fried rice (hold the onions) and he devours it! Yes, large serving and rarely has any leftovers! Nice sized portion here as well. Spring rolls are fresh and so delicious! Smoothies? Fantastic! Lettuce wraps (chicken) are fresh and tasty! After a long day of car shopping we decided to stop and check out AZ Pho & Grill to celebrate my baby girl making her first real giant purchase. We love pho and we try it stop by new places whenever we can. First thought was it smelled really good upon approaching the door to enter. Once inside it was pretty packed and we had to wait a few moments to be seated. The location is rarely small, but doesn't feel crowded. It was clean and the hostess was kind. They offer both QR menus or actual if you'd like. The menu isn't super large, but offers some great options. We definitely opted for the Black Sugar Milk Tea with boba and some egg rolls. We then decided on the chicken pho as we weren't hungry enough to try to eat the added protein options . I will definitely be back for the seafood pho. It sounded delicious. They seemed to have a lot more authentic dishes than other spots in the valley. Our server was very sweet. Our food came out quickly, nice and hot. I added my bean sprouts, jalapeños and sriracha and dug in. It was very good. The portions were the perfect size and the toppings fresh. I read some of the other reviews complaining of bad service etc, but we did not experience that at all. The flavor of the food was good. My daughter loved the milk tea. It was not over sugared, but just right. The only negative if you could call it that was got a refill on my water and had to drink the extra one they brought my daughter with her milk tea at the beginning of our meal. Prices were fare for today. You can always look over the menu ahead of time and decide not to come if it's not what you're willing to pay. I'd stop by again to try a few more options. read more

Giving three stars because the food is good, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant inside is nice. I've had a couple problems with this place though. first they forgot peanut sauce for my fresh roll which is all I really look forward to. They took care of the problem so that's fine. Next I go in and I pick up my order and I look at my bank account the next day and they charged me twice. I called they say that I've somehow ordered an extra pho that I did not order. It took some time and a lot of energy to get this fixed but again they fixed the problem. So thank you. Katy was great and helpful and she's the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. Tom the other manager or whoever he is should be fired and is the reason I will not be back at this establishment or any other AZ pho. He was accusational, angry, and solved no problems, but caused many. I will be reaching out to his superiors as if this is how customers are treated, someone should know. read more

Apparently it's too hard for the servers to say a simple "Hi" when you walk in or a "you're welcome" when you politely say thank you. I've been coming here quite a bit lately, because I live so close to this location, as I've said in past reviews, "it's my go to place for Pho when I want to stay local. I have a friend who is not a fan of Pho, who never wanted to go with me. Finally after much persuasion that there was other choice items on the menu, he finally ventured to come with me. Lunchtime, always busy and plenty of seating. Service is always friendly and very attentive. I ordered my regular Steak and Tripe Pho with an appetizer of Fried Spring Rolls. The Pho is sometimes better than other visits, but it is always hot and fresh. My friend ordered the Stir Fried Shrimp in Lemongrass Sauce served with Rice and salad. He LOVED it! So this was my first time eating here. I know prices have gone up everywhere, but a bowl of pho with only a couple of pieces of very bland chicken breast for $14 is a little high. I elected to have meatball added for $3.75. It was actually one very small meatball cut into four pieces. Delicious authentic tasting pho! I got potstickers, steak & meatball pho, and Vietnamese iced coffee. The potstickers were unique and tasty and the pho tasted flavorful. The plating was great and the coffee came in a lowball glass with the condensed milk and a single cup french press on top with the coffee and a glass of ice. The pho came with toppings on the side. I have crossed this place multiple times and finally got a chance to go for dinner. We were seated quickly and the place is cozy, clean and well lit. They have a full bar, my husband wanted to have jack and coke. When he told the waiter, the waiter had no clue what it was. We repeated atleast 3 times, we have never experienced this before. Finally, he went and asked another waiter to take our table. We ordered calamari rings and crab puffs for appetizer. The calamari rings was not crispy, it was so oily and bad. It was the worst rings we have had. The crab puffs too wasn't that good and honestly don't order appetizers here other than spring roll. We ordered the chicken pho and clay pot fried rice. The broth in the pho was really good, I liked the crunchy onions they added. The rice noodles was cooked well too. The clay pot fried rice was average and it too had a lot of oil floating. I wouldn't order fried rice. If you want to eat only pho it's a good place but other than that I wouldn't go back here. The price is definitely on the above average side. Update early September 2021. The taste of the shrimp Pad Thai were too light. It needed more tamarind flavor. While the noodle was cooked right, the dish was a bit dry; it needed more sauce. The Bún Bò Huế (= spicy beef pork noodle soup) was in need of more lemongrass. The broth used was definitely the one for Phở. Overall, the two dishes I ordered today was not impressive at all. -------------------------------------------- Original review: Service staff was attentive and polite. We passed this place numerous times and always wondered how it was. Today, after a week of laryngitis and losing my voice, we decided to come here for some soothing hot phó. The place itself was spacious and clean, which is always a bonus. The staff were extremely kind and prompt. I felt bad not being able to talk, but they all smiled and understood. The thai tea with boba was incredible. It wasn't overly sweet like Thai tea can sometimes get. It was perfect, and the boba was different, more gelatine-like, but mellowed on the sweetness, which again, I enjoyed. We also got the chicken potstickers, and they were delicious as well. The sauce wasn't overly salty either. The veggie phó, I don't even know where to start. They had bok choy, which I don't find very often in phó anymore, and I had forgotten how much I loved it. Combined with the jalapeños, Siracha, hoison sauce, and all the vegetables, it was perfect. Husband drank some of my Thai and kept trying to steal more. He's lucky that I love him enough to share.
