Had lunch there today. This has been by favorite pho spot for quite a while, however, today was disappointing. My pho had much weaker broth than normal. There were way too many noodles in it so it became thick and pasty. The server did not understand my request for my spring rolls to come out with the soup, so they came out first. I like to have my rolls with the soup; if they sit around they become tough and gummy. Not sure if this is a one-off situation or not, and I will give them another shot. read more

Friendly staff, incredible bun bo hue, and... frozen potstickers. This is easily one of the best bun bo hues I've had in the US. The noodles had that perfect chewy bite, the broth was rich and just the right amount of spicy, and the variety of meat cuts made it even better. 5/5 on the bun bo hue. Unfortunately, the chicken potstickers were a total miss. Tasted like they were fried, frozen, and then microwaved. Closer to cardboard than dumpling. Hard skip. Restaurant is family friendly, my family came a few times with my toddler son and they were accommodating. Ambiance is fine, the AC is OK. Prices are slightly high for a Vietnamese restaurant, a large bowl of Pho is near $20. Spring Rolls good, rice dishes are good. They don't have crispy vegetarian spring rolls though. Taste-wise everything is on point. Nothing really stands out though. Everything feels average. We'll be back. read more

I just tried AZ Pho & Grill with my friend and it was really good! I got the V3 vermicelli with grilled beef and egg rolls and it was super yummy. The noodles come dry and you dip them in the fish sauce, which had amazing flavor. Super filling with lots of great tastes in every bite. My friend is vegetarian and she got the P10 tofu pho and said it was delicious. It's nice that they actually have solid vegetarian options since so many places barely offer any. Service was quick and efficient, and everyone was very polite. The ambience was great too, not overly bright so you can relax, but with big windows that let in natural light so it doesn't feel dark. It's a casual spot, but you can dress up a bit if you want or stay comfy. Overall, a great little place to grab Vietnamese food with friends! read more

I am not sure what to say about this place. If you are into Pho you will be dissatisfied the noodles fell apart, not sure if they were overcooked or cut up so much. Needed lots more flavoring the broth and the meat was more like cold cuts. The service is outstanding they replaced the noodles but still felt they were mush. I think there are better options but give them stars for being a family run business. read more

First time having pho in AZ. I went because it was closest to where I was at, and I wanted something filling. Service was great. Ryan sat me down immediately and took my order. I was feeling a banh mi, but he convinced me to get the pho. I ordered brisket and meatball. He said they didn't have one like that on the menu, but he could add it to the brisket pho. Okay cool. It took just a few minutes before someone else came and brought me the pho. It hit the spot for sure, but I was a little underwhelmed with the broth. It wasn't bad at all, but I feel like it needed more spices or like it needed to simmer longer. Overall it was good. I dropped a star because it was kind of pricey imo. It came out to about $21.75 after tax. Maybe I'm still used to the prices I knew in the Temecula area, but yeah, I was a bit shocked. Other than that, this is a clean place to ha e some good authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I wish they offered the little Vietnamese pancakes but I didn't see them on the menu. We called close to their closing time to place an order and asked if it was okay, guy on phone said it was okay, then he asked for my credit card stuff & told me to be there before 8:30 sharp, which is the closing time. If there was an issue, they shouldn't have accepted the order. The employees were rude on the phone and called back right at 8:30 to ask if we were coming he ended the call and stared at us from out the window. As soon as I walked in I knew I was going to love it! It smelled like fresh pho that had been cooking all day! The service was fast! They kept our drinks filled. We love the convenience of this location. The restaurant was a chill vibe and had soft music playing in the background it was nice. We ordered Grilled Chicken Bahn Mí sandwiches! Flavorful sauce and grilled to perfection. The fried rice was fire, BUT they do not have house fried rice. Couldn't even charge us for the extra meat to make it House. A lil odd. The pho was delish! This place nails Vietnamese vermicelli bowls. I ordered one with grilled pork and a spring roll, and every element was perfectly balanced. So. Much. Lettuce. Fresh rolls were 90% iceberg lettuce with single sprig of cilantro, literally a few (maybe 4) vermicelli noodles and the thinnest single slice of pork imaginable. The bahn mi sandwich was similar, stuffed full of iceberg lettuce with a few small slices of meat and other veggies. The meat for lettuce wraps was okay but it was served with - you guessed it - literally a half head of unprepared iceberg lettuce, too big even for the styrofoam container. Thin rice noodles, minced shrimp, egg, tofu, crab paste, tomato in chicken broth - Bún Riêu Cua - $15.45) was ordered along with the usual egg rolls and spring rolls to share. I'm glad I was wearing sandals that day because my socks would have been blown off. If you love tomatoes and aren't afraid of seafood, you'll love it! Hoped to avoid Bay Area prices but, ALAS, they have followed us. Got a P5 - Steak and Flank Pho ($14.75) and a V3 - Verm with Pork and Egg Roll ($15.75). Pho was a solid 4/5. Broth was flavorful and meat was cut thin and tender enough. I wouldn't have minded a bit more noodles and mint, but overall it was a good bowl of soup that I'd get again. Vermicelli was just okay. Pork was thin and lacked seasoning and the bowl only came with one egg roll despite the "eggrollS" deacription. My mom is visiting and we needed something quick for a take out lunch, and since this place is close to where I live, we both gave this place a try. I called in our order and asked for spring rolls, meatball pho and grilled pork banh mi (hold the mayo). I initially tried to order online, however, no option to hold the mayo, so I called in the order. We showed up about 15 min later and our order was ready. I don't usually eat fried rolls but my mom likes them and I ordered the wrong rolls so we put in another order for that and waited for it. The fried rolls came out quickly. Service was quick and friendly. We went home and dug into our food. Banh mi was ok and unique that they put iceberg lettuce in their sandwiches. I'm not a fan of iceberg but it worked ok. The sandwich was on the smaller side and the baguette wasn't the best I have had. But, honestly, this probably wasn't a signature item for them. I didn't do my research on this place. Mom said the fried rolls were tasty but she complained about the meatball pho's portion size being too small and although the front counter person said that our take out order has pockets of Sriracha and hoisin sauce, we didn't find them. Overall, was a decent meal, but having a meal of close to $50 for 2 for a fast casual lunch doesn't feel worth it. My mom and I are both frugal (why pay more when you don't have to) and I doubt we'll be coming back soon. We sat down and the waitress tells us we have to order that minute at 8:22 because the kitchen is closing. It was rude. They should lock their doors at 8:20 if they're not serving. Ordered takeout for the first time and it didn't disappoint. The beef and brisket pho was packed up nicely with all the fixings. I like that they offer the option to have fully cooked beef because I'm a little creeped out by uncooked meat. The appetizer sampler is a nice offering so we could try a few different dishes. It includes egg rolls, spring rolls, and two coconut shrimp along with three different dipping sauces. My husband got the Pad Thai and thought it was good. I also ordered the vermicelli noodles with chicken and shrimp that my daughter and I liked a lot. Great customer service, the Pho was tasty but the flavorings are not always consistent when I have come here which is interesting including the wings, as you can see in the pictures. However I still like coming here to eat and fill my belly. The ambiance is great and the restaurant is always very clean. Sometimes the timing with customers is a little off depending on who is working, today I witnessed a couple leave because they never received service after being seated for a while. I don't know yet about their offerings in other Vietnamese dishes on the menu, but when it comes to Phở, no, not even close! I can't understand why Phở is in their name. I don't know where their recipes, preparations or ingredients, or what regions, or how they've come about for their Phở has come from and how they prepare it, but this is not Phở or even close to being what I've come to value as a 'legitimate' Phở. I love Phở... I've loved it, and appreciated it for many, many, many years, and this Phở does not come close to any Phở, from any Vietnamese region I've experienced ever, ever, anywhere across the country. It kind of feels like its mass produced, the broth not at all traditionally flavorful, they use dry and flavorless meats, and ingredients/addons are skimpy, don't seem very fresh. Sorry, I don't think anyone who appreciates Phở and respects it will appreciate a real Phở meal at AZ Phở & Grill! It's a matter of respect for a cherished Vietnamese mainstay. I recently had the mis opportunity of having both their Steak Phở and their Phở Tai Nam (my fave) - not! As for the rest of their meals, caveat emptor! I don't pretend to know. By the way, their website doesn't even spell Phở correctly! There are quite a few places in the Valley that will be a much better selection than here. There are many Pho Restaurants in Tempe, but I had one of the best brisket pho from here! The soup was so savory and flavorful. I also liked how they have the baked egg for their rice dishes, which is often not on the menu in other Vietnamese restaurants. It's the small details added to the menu that really makes me appreciate more authentic Vietnamese cuisine such as the fish sauce for dipping, sides of pickled daikon and carrots, and the lettuce to wrap the crispy fried egg rolls with. We also really liked how relaxing it was to eat in this restaurant. It was light and airy inside. The restaurant design gives a very calm and relaxing vibe while you eat! Everything was clean from the floors to the tables to the bathrooms. You can tell that they really take pride in keeping their restaurant clean! Great spot for pho! I had the chicken breast pho (P9) with added carrots and broccoli, just as I wanted. The server didn't write things down, which always worries me, but he got everything correct.
