The first and most lasting impression was the overwhelming smell of plumbing problems and propane, which I dearly hope was just an off day and not the norm. The chicken pho I got was very good, however, I couldn't eat the chicken itself because every single piece had gristle and sinew. The broth was very flavorful and I really enjoyed that. For the most part the interior was clean, but there were some flies. This little hole in the wall is across the street from the MCC rose garden has the best Pho in the Phoenix. The beef broth has a wonderful deep flavor and is delivered steaming hot. Noodles cooked perfectly. I always order the #1 combo pho in the XL bowl. You can order any of the pho in XL bowl for $1 more. There are better pho places around for sure. Less than average sized portions. Beef noodle bowl tasted like the noodles had been in the refrigerator for weeks. Rare steak pho had about 4 pieces of meat. Chicken pho had lots of chicken, but it was just chicken and noodles, no onions, no nothing. Like a kids soup. Service was what you expect from pho, unhappy to be here and unfriendly. The place is dirty all around. The sauce bottles have grease all over them. There are bottles of hand sanitizer on the tables because THERE IS NO BATHROOM! Gross. Not recommended. We will never return here. read more

I missed it the first pass and my friend had to tell me turn back. It's an old Taco Bell building. I ordered beef and brisket pho and my friend got the seafood pho. I literally don't have enough to say about this place I'd give it 6 stars if I could. This is a true hole in the wall gem of Mesa! It is nothing fancy on the inside or outside it's right next to sees candies and I say that because I don't even think their sign has words on it outside it's so faded. Service is quick efficient and he comes to give you water, to order, and then you pay at the front he's very chill. It was Thursday during lunch time, and there were 2 people eating in the dining area which had ample room for many more guests. Small and cozy. We got the beef combo and took it to go. This was a spot I used to frequent a few years ago. My memory deceived me slightly, as the pho was not as flavorful as I remember. Maybe it was an off day? The pho was fine, we got #8 and #10, but it was not incredible. The flavors were very muted and subtle. It certainly tasted good, but it was not all that I know a good pho could be. I have been eating and trying different pho places for years. My husband has recently been introduced and he enjoyed the broth. The rice noodles were slightly powdery. The imperial egg rolls were alright, a little bland. We did not finish them and we were very hungry when they were brought out. The service was efficient. The restaurant is very small, very hole in the wall feel. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, I have to rate this as the worst Pho I've had and the other noodle dish we got was not too far behind. Everything seemed to have been microwaved as that was the only thing you could hear in the kitchen. For the pho specifically, the broth was warm instead of hot and not very flavorful. The bean sprouts tasted kind of off so I could not really eat them. The restaurant itself looks relatively clean but the kitchen area seems cluttered and does not inspire a lot of confidence. The other dish was pretty flavorless and some of the meat was cold so it was not reheated properly. I had to go to another restaurant afterwards for dinner. Service was just ok. read more

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here food wise. Service was as expected from an Asian establishment- they only come by if you call for them. Ordered the #41, vermicelli with egg roll, grilled pork. First impression: very thin and little slices of pork! Many other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to give much more. The egg rolls were extremely mushy inside, no texture at all. The veggies underneath were an iceberg lettuce...there should be red or green leaf lettuce instead in addition to pickles carrots, daikon, and cucumbers. Fish sauce was watered down and sweet. Catered to Western audience. The pho seems to be what they are known for but the noodles were overcooked and mushy. Soup was lukewarm so it didn't cook the meat...pho broth should be hot! We also heard the microwave go off multiple times while waiting for our order. Def makes you wonder how much is freshly made. We won't return. If you are a Vietnamese food veteran I wouldn't recommend, but if you are new to it and don't have expectations, you could try it. read more

This is in an old Taco Bell. Not much to look at. But what matters most, the food, is great. You order at the counter (no table service) and your food comes out fast. It's a great place for a quick lunch. I had #11 - phô with brisket. It was a little light on meat but still very good. Prices are reasonable. A good sized bowl of phô will set you back $10 to $12. Seafood, meatball, and two meat pho. For my seafood I have never had pho with fried crab meat but this was so amazing and filling. I've ordered for takeout here at Pho Nhat on Southern many times and especially when I'm craving for some beef pho . The beef broth is pretty decent and the portions for the price is pretty fair in comparison to all other pho restaurants here in Mesa, Chandler locations. The owner is always willingly to get whatever I needed for my takeout. It's a husband and wife teamwork, so at times it can get busy for him to answer the phone. However, I have no issue with that because there's only 2 people doing the work. One cooks and the other waits tables and serves food. The interior could used a fresher new look for instance a fresh paint on the wall. An old fish aquarium where there's no fish in it should be removed and the space should be used more efficiently. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Great customer services, good food and all around good people. read more

1. The pho is decent. If you're looking for pho that isn't salty with too much MSG or that isn't bland, this is the right location for you. The broth is still rich, yet mild. It has this distinct tea taste. Therefore, you know the soup is actually healthy. 2. The restroom is outside at the back of the restaurant. In other words, if you need to use the restroom, you have to leave the restaurant and walk to the back of this restaurant. 3. This family owned restaurant is small and has plenty of parking, no nonsense decro and is very basic --- but serves great dishes at a great value. 4. The price is the best. It is lower than most pho that costs above $10 or even $12. The customers are getting the best value here! You can't beat the price. 5. This is a tip: If you want boba milk tea, definitely drive straight to Boba Tree, which is 2 minutes away on the same street. Likewise, if you need some asian groceries, drive a little bit and you'll find an asian market, which aldo shares the same plaza as Boba Tree. You're welcome! Kill all 3 birds with 1 stone --- on the same street within minutes. 6. The older gentleman who was serving me was very kind and respectful. I am not sure if he is the owner or co-owner. 7. Because this is a small business with limited staff, you might need to lower your standard here. You'll find that empty dishes are still on the table when patrons have already left. You'll find that there is only 1 person who is the cashier, waiter, and cleaner all at once. I highly recommend patrons to be patient, given that you're receiving the best value for the food. We ordered #8 and #21 $7.25 each which were served in a huge bowl with fresh basil and bean sprouts. Fresh Spring rolls with pork and some rolls with shrimp with dipping sauce.
