Yesterday my coworker bought the handful of us in the office lunch from here. I wanted the chicken salad sandwich, but they were out. I didn't see it on the menu, so I asked if I could get just roast beef. That's the only deli meat I like. So I got a shorty no tomato & no red onion. The sandwich was huge. I could only eat half of it. The house dressing was a lot of oil. The roast beef was good. It was shaved. The bread is way too thick for the amount of meat & toppings you get. Even with Mayo, mustard & whatever the house dressing was, it was too dry. I personally don't need to ever get a sandwich from here again. The ratio of bread to meat & toppings was more like eating bread alone. read more

Ordered a Tuna sandwich. The bread was super tasty! Soft and airy. However, I didn't care for the tuna. It was overly dry with no seasoning. I'm use to tuna having some sort of crunch with mayonnaise and seasoning. After putting mayonnaise on the sandwich, it was a bit better. Hi, I recently just ordered the cater item, "Office Hero Meal". For this item, it says you will "medium sub tray, chips, brownies, and 1-gallon beverage tote with cups." And I didn't receive any chips or cups for the gallon tote. A few friends had recommended this restaurant and I had a hankering for a good sub, so I ordered their chipotle chicken Philly on wheat bread. I placed the order on Uber Eats and unfortunately my driver ended up going to multiple stops before he got to me. But surprisingly my sub was still nice and warm! The chicken filling was generous, juicy, well seasoned and tasty. I loved the addition of the mushrooms. Everything was flavorful. The only thing that brought it down flavor wise was the bread. I am not sure if I happened to get an older one but it tasted a little stale and dry. I liked the chipotle sauce and would have liked more on the sandwich itself (luckily you can order it with extra sauce). Overall I enjoyed it and would definitely come back! The website advertised a homemade, gluten-free marshmallow dessert, but we were given a basic Rice Krispie treat for $2.50. That set the tone. Every customization we requested was clearly printed on the receipt -- and every single one was wrong: Asked for no mayo, got mayo. Paid for pickle spears, received none. Menu said kettle chips, got Lay's. Requested Swiss cheese, got provolone. Menu listed three brownie options, only one was available. It's hard to justify this kind of sloppiness, especially at this price point. The food was good, but the lack of attention to detail and misleading menu descriptions made the whole experience feel careless and overpriced. I love this place but, if i pay $2.00 extra for avocado i should get more then 3 thin slices of avocado. I can buy 2 avocados for 2 dollars at the grocery store. For 2 dollar's i should get at least 1/2 of an avocado at a restaurant. In conclusion i love this place but the price is not justified for the amount i receive. I'm typically not the sandwich kind of girl but it was my boyfriend's last day of chemotherapy and radiation and it was on his list of favorite places to eat in Tempe so he talked me into stopping in for a late lunch and in my head I thought it was going to be as bad as Subway or Firehouse so as we were looking at the menu I was trying to come up with a plan for me to eat at home so I decided to try a bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato sandwich on a white roll with easy mayonnaise and no mustard. Surprisingly it also had I'm thinking was provolone cheese. Our order was to go so when we go home and sat down to eat I was amazed at the bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese ratio the avocado was kind of hidden behind the lettuce but I was ok with that the sandwich was Fantastic!! I've never enjoyed eating a BLT so much and I've eaten at some really popular Deli's in Hollywood California and even there"s weren't this good. The bread was super fresh and the avocado has a really nice green color to it not that disgusting black and green that a lot of restaurants try to pass off in food. My boyfriend ordered a club and he enjoyed his like always I'm honestly glad he turned me on to this place it's in a business park and looks like it gets pretty busy considering there's a fried chicken business in the same building my experience was fun and new I enjoyed very much and highly recommend that your next sandwich be here skip Subway and give it a try. read more

I've become slightly obsessed with AZ Sandwiches during the pandemic. I'm always on the lookout for a good/hearty sandwich when I don't feel like counting bread towards my macros... which let's be honest has been most of the pandemic. I've probably eaten here the most number of times during my extended work from home status. There have been weekends when I long for an AZ Sandwich and lament over their weekday-only hours. Pro tip- if you order ahead on their platform for pickup or any of the apps, it'll stop accepting them around 1/1:30. The one sandwich that got me hooked/can't stop ordering is the #8 Sparky sans tomatoes and extra of the vinaigrette house dressing. It's a perfect blend of turkey/bacon/avocado! They recently started doing lunch combos for the Sparky (& a few others) + a side (chips, potato salad or macaroni salad) + a drink for $9. Some of their more plain sandwiches are the same combo but for $7 or $8. Both the macaroni salad and potato salads are heavy on the mayo (but made fresh daily) and if you have to pick one, go for potato. It would be nice if the side salad was a side option- both times I've ordered it's had super fresh field greens (not just crappy cheap romaine/iceberg), carrots and that amazing house vinaigrette. OR! A slightly healthier/lighter version of one of them. Support this business and grab lunch here (via THEIR ordering portal or in-person)- you won't be sad. read more

BASIC Not sure why people like this place so much. It's the most plain, basic sandwiches. You could literally make ones like these yourself by getting all the ingredients from the grocery store. I've never been a huge deli sandwich person but this place has grown on my partner and I to the point that we've started to order from them often because they are just SO good. Their bread is soft and has almost a sweet flavoring to it and their meats are always of the very best quality. They stuff their sandwiches FULL so you absolutly get your moneys worth. Going Down Hill - This place seems to progressively get worse on customer service. They did away with the human at the register to place your order with, and replaced them with digital order boards. You place your own order, pay and never speak to a human, in fact the digital board calls out the order ready # and name and the humans just keep going about their business behind the counter without saying a word, quite sad really. You cannot customize your order and if you ask one of those humans they just tell you "you can't do that, we don't do that". Blah, I suppose some of the Gen Z's are down for this totally digital life but I'll be going elsewhere where you can interact with a real human and ask for extra mayo if I want it. I stopped in this store today to get a soup lite combo, which I usually order at least three times a week because I work nearby and unfortunately they were out of chicken noodle soup today. Because I did not like any of the other soups that were being offered I asked if I could substitute for an extra fee to get a pasta salad instead of the soup and I was told no that that was not an option. I asked if I could speak to a manager at the store and the woman at the register advised me that she was the manager. I asked her name and she said her name was Claudia. I then saw a sign that said you could substitute for a different side for a fee. The pasta salad was an additional $1.00 according to the sign, so I asked Claudia at the register why the sign said that I could substitute for a pasta salad, but she was telling me that I could not. She then proceeded to tell me verbatim that "that's just the way it is and if you don't like it then you can get out". I was shocked by this response. So I then asked her "are you really kicking me out because I asked you a question?" and she confirmed by saying "yes I am kicking you out". I was completely disappointed and saddened by this level of rudeness towards me as a loyal customer who just genuinely was trying to understand why I could not pay for pasta salad to be included with my meal instead of soup. I think that this was an EXTREMELY poor display of customer service and no one should ever be dealt with this way unless they are displaying threatening behavior which I in no way was doing. I simply just asked a question. As I am writing this I am still in complete disbelief of what just happened and wanted to make sure that I provided this feedback to someone. I hope that this gets into the right hands because as someone who works in a service industry myself, this should be considered unacceptable to handle your customers this way. I am sure this is not the type of behavior that this store wants to be known for. They should really deal with a "manager" who would handle loyal paying customers in this manner. I hope someone from the company cares enough to respond. As I mentioned, I frequently purchase food here and have never had someone there treat me so poorly. Oh my gosh, we popped in here today for a quick lunch before heading to AZ Mills and had delicious sandwiches! Thanks to Yelp for pointing our sandwich-craving bellies in the right direction!
