I had been a loyal customer, but after this experience, I will not be returning. I ordered a cheesesteak with hot sauce and was charged extra for it, yet my food arrived without any hot sauce. When I brought it to the owner's attention, he showed no interest in correcting the mistake or providing what I had paid for. Even worse, the owner called me a "woke liberal" and proceeded to use derogatory language toward me. That is completely unacceptable and no way to treat any customer, especially someone who has supported the business repeatedly. The food is not nearly as good as it used to be, either. The restaurant is practically empt every time I go, and after experiencing this level of service, I can understand why. They charge extra for seemingly every little thing, including a cup for water, but apparently cannot provide an add-on they charged for. Walked in around 2:30 pm. It was quiet. The woman who took my order was very friendly. After a lot of deliberation I went for the 8" cheese steak. It was AWESOME. Fresh, piping hot, and so flavorful. I really like that they don't put bell pepper on the sandwich. Just sautéed onions, perfectly seasoned tender steak, and melty American cheese. This sandwich REALLY hit the spot. I'm partial to Forefathers for cheese steaks. But this sandwich was actually better in my opinion. The mouth feel. The tenderness of the steak and the cheese and onions was just on point. I said it was my first time and I heard you guys have the best Pastrami in the Valley. She highly recommended i try their signature sandwich, the Pastrami . Com. I was not disappointed. That includes grilled sautéed onions, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, and melted Swiss cheese. Absolutely amazing! Upon my next visit, I decided to try their meatball mozzarella. This is a great place however it seems that it's a victim of its own success. My wife and I ordered three sandwiches and had to wait an hour for them to be made. Due to the fact that it seems it's only the owner and his wife. I guess they had a huge order for American Airlines, but it would've been nice if they told us that when we ordered our food. If I can give this place no starts I would for customer service. I called Tuesday at 851 am. I had a complaint from Friday late afternoon right before they closed. Try calling back Friday about a complaint, no answer they were already closed they're closed all weekend and on Mondays and today was my first time I was able to get a hold of somebody. The guy gets on the phone and he's like what do you need I'm prepping. His attitude was so bad and like what I told him I said I'm calling about a complaint and that's not how you treat a customer. And his response was well do what you got to do and he hangs up on me. That is not how you treat a customer especially when you're calling about a complaint on some food that was messed up. I ate here for the first time in a long time. I arrived a little late at 2:15pm and this was great as there was no line or many people waiting. I waited shortly as two orders were being brought out and the wedge fries looked good on one order. I had a hard time deciding but got the regular Philly cheesesteak with onions. Out a few minutes later was a hot and cheesy sub on a roll that was grilled on the outside, hot and fresh and smelled wonderful. I couldn't wait and dove into this hot and juicy sandwich. Plenty of meat and cheese as the bread was full end to end and I had no issue finding cheese as I have at other restaurants. I think the sandwich was $14.99 plus tax for the 12 inch, once I dug into the sandwich this was a decent price considering the quality and quantity of my sandwich. Absolutely Outstanding! I have never been a fan of meatballs in my life -- but this hoagie shop completely changed that. My son loves meatball subs, so we decided to split one, and I was blown away. The meatballs were tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of sauce and melted cheese. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you could tell real care went into making it. It takes a lot to impress me, especially with something I've never liked before, but this place did it. Second time there. First time I had a cheesesteak which was OK this time I had the meatball sub which was flavorless. It seemed to be more of a vodka sauce, compared to marinara sauce. If you go, take your cash because they charge you 3% to use your debit or credit account. I am not a fan of businesses charging their customers for this service, It's just a part of doing business.. They also charge for a cup whether you want a soda or water? Problem is there is no water on their soda machine. If you want water, you have to buy a bottle. It's a hoagie or no-gie! We saw the giant sign that said PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS which was like a big cheesy meaty beacon for us at lunchtime. Forget the bat signal Commissioner Gordon, it's all about the Philly Cheesesteak signal. The menu offers both hot and cold sandwiches with multiple cheesesteak options. We shared the 12" Italian cheese steak which contains cheese + thin sliced steak (Duh), peppers and sauteed onions. It was made in only a few minutes and we were ready to chow down! As for seating, I appreciated that there were several 2 top patio tables outside for dining, as well as nice n squeaky clean tables inside. Service was super friendly. The cheese steak was really good! It was PACKED with meat, glorious meat! The cheese had that lovely cheese pull to it and I enjoyed the sweetness of the onions and pickled peppers (Peter Piper was unavailable for comment on picking pecks of them though). The roll was soft and held up well to all the ingredients and the flavors worked well to create a filling satisfying sandwich. It's not my favorite cheese steak of all time but it's probably one of my top choices for Arizona. If you're curious, my top two are places in San Francisco and Philly (Duh). read more

Great food and great service! The atmosphere was very reminiscent of an old new york shop.

I visited The Original Hoagie Shop for the first time and the first thing I noticed is how clean it is. All of the tables were pristine, the condiments were neatly organized on all the tables and the decor was fitting! The woman who greeted me and took my order was very nice and explained the menu to me. I ordered my food; an Italian Cheesesteak and Wings, which came out in under 15 minutes and was piping hot! Everything was delicious! The wings were crispy and seasoned (8/10) and the cheesesteak was hot and juicy with a nice amount of peppers however I could have used a little more seasoning on the meat (9/10). All in all, 8.5/10.
