Decided to stop in after seeing their special Orange Chicken Fries posted on social media. Service was fast and friendly and pricing was good as well for the amount of food provided. The restaurant has nice simple decor inside which feels welcoming. If taking your order to go, the staff will actually bring your order to you. Not worth the money. Nothing about this place stood out. Bird Talk is tucked in the corner of a plaza, and the moment I pulled up, I should've trusted my instincts. The area was dirty, not well maintained, and had people hanging around outside. Walked in, and the place was empty except for the cashier. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't helpful either. A little more customer service would have been nice. I got the Nashville Hot Combo in mild spice. It comes with a side, and I chose fries. Drinks aren't included, which is honestly so annoying. The food came out quick, but it was nothing special. The sandwich was decent, but the fries were bland. I didn't even finish them. On top of that, the food left a bad aftertaste in my mouth, which made the whole experience even worse. Then came the real problem. My stomach started acting up, and I had to stop at the store for Pepto. For context, I DO NOT have a sensitive stomach at all. While I was at the store, my mom called to say she had made it home, only to immediately throw up. If TWO people have bad reactions after eating here, that's all you need to know. We had a night that we just wanted comfort food. Bird talk was what was randomly chosen and it was a definite hit. The Mac and cheese was amazing with the breaded chicken strips. We didn't visit this place as it would have been irresponsible to drive there considering the amount of delicious adult beverages we had consumed do the delivery was the option. The food arrived nice and quick and was even still very hot (had to let it cool a bit to consume it)! Came back in tonight, it was slow like last time we came in. 2 others were in the dining area with us but left us to ourselves shortly after we sat down. My girlfriend got the Mac and cheese like last time and it hit just as well this time, I decided to switch things up tonight though. I got the Nashville sandwich combo with the loaded tots again, both of which hit well. Only slight complaint is that the button bun of my sandwich was getting pretty soggy, although it didn't seem too greasy. I ordered the 3 piece tender, Nashville hot, with a side of tater tots and ranch dressing. My boba sistah got mango habanero tenders with waffles and honey mustard. We snagged a table in this cozy spot and our food was brought to us about 5-10 minutes later. Everything looked great! I enjoyed the spicy dry rub tenders and they paired well with the ranch dressing. Juicy, tender chicken that was nicely cooked. The tater tots were plentiful but soft on the inside, more of a mushy texture, so not my favorite. I also tried one of the mango habanero tenders and it was delicious. It had a sauce on it and reminded me of wings. I didn't notice the complete list of sides as I was excited about the tater tots but later I noticed they have jalapeño poppers, might try next time. They have so many tender flavors to choose from and I would love to try more on a future visit. I recommend coming with a friend and ordering different types so that you get some variety. They have free Bird Talk stickers here in the style of famous brands and their logos, I grabbed the DD one and my sistah got the Nintendo one. Creative and unique offering, I like it. Short and sweet version: The vegetable yakisoba gave me an E. Coli infection and 10 days stuck at home. I visited BirdTalk with my partner and a couple friends, and my partner decided to try the vegetable yakisoba. I noticed that there was a weird white texture in the sauce, however I didn't think anything of it (BIG MISTAKE!!). My partner ate the entire plate, and I had a single bite. When we returned home, my partner immediately started suffering from food poisoning symptoms, and after a doctors visit + medication, she felt better after three days. On the third day, I got sick and have been sick since (4 days since I ate here). I will not explain the symptoms of food poisoning/E. Coli, but please know we both dealt with the extreme versions of both. I don't know if it's food quality or handling, but something must change. I'm missing 10 days of work because I chose to eat here instead of Cheba Hut next door. read more

Even the bird-brained wouldn't be able to pass up the discount for this restaurant by showing a receipt from neighbor Mochi Fresh. The special bird of the day for us were the chicken nuggets. We got an order to go with the house-made honey mustard sauce. Since every item is made to order it was a small wait for the nuggets but it wasn't too bad and it gave us time to admire the cool and hilarious chicken themed art on the walls. The nuggets came with fries and were well packaged in separate paper trays that were then placed in a large Styrofoam box. While the packaging was secure it did make the food a little steamed rather than crispy by the time we got home but it was still a pretty cluckin' good meal. The breading on the chicken was nice, and the chicken looked like it was prepared by hand since there were various sizes to these chicken chunks . The meat itself was tender. I also liked the honey mustard sauce to dip the nuggets in. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the food as I never got to eat it. Slightly longer but wanted to share my genuine experience - my first time here. I am pregnant and had seen this spot online, immediately craving it! My husband and I had placed an order for a sandwich each and a Mac n cheese to share. Upon arriving at the restaurant, there were three other people - a couple, and a man alone sitting nearby. It did not look like anybody had their food in front of them. I waited at the counter for service (there was a bell but I was not in a rush) and while I was standing there, I had the pleasure of watching an adult German Cockroach walk across the windowsill of the windowed area connecting the kitchen and the front of house. I know most restaurants have them unfortunately. The thing is, I also know from experience (poor neighbors in a prior apartment), that unless you are extremely infested, they do not come out in daytime or around crowds of people. You should never see it in plain sight during the day. I ran back to the car to inform my husband, who was now at the same standstill I was. I went back inside and the man came from the back. I told him I had a pickup however now would just like to be refunded as I had already paid online. He told me "I will call them." He asked for my name, then handed me my bag. I walked out with it, sat in the car uncomfortable and decided I was not bringing roaches home. I brought the bag back inside. By this time the couple that was initially waiting at the tables had left with their food, and a new couple walked in, followed by what was presumably a mother and her young children. The man from the counter was in the back again. I told the couple what I had seen and why I was bringing my order back inside. The mother and kids left. The man in the back came out and I told him I did not feel comfortable taking my order home. Again, he said "I will call them". I told him I was also going to contact the bank to disapprove the charge on my card. I set my bag of food down and walked out, and held the door for the couple as they followed behind. We all got back into our cars and as my husband and I were sitting there trying to find our next place to get lunch, we did notice the man that was sitting alone come out of the building and go up to the other couple's (that left when I did) car. Not sure what he had said but he went back inside and they left. As did we. Very upsetting as I've seen nothing but great reviews online and the food looked delicious. I have been looking for a place that serves Nashville Hot Chicken other than chicken sandwiches, and my hopes were up because they serve 4 or 8 pieces of fried chicken. You can get your chicken plain, hot or honey butter style. I asked them to substitute thighs for the breast portions and they accommodated my request. In due course the chicken was delivered. Two boxes of 4 pieces each along with cole slaw and tater tots both $4 extra for a total bill of $32. Not bad for a delivered meal for 2 in this day and age. The chicken was a very dark brown which either meant burned seasoning or burned chicken. Perhaps a bit of each! The white meat was dry and stringy, but the dark meat was nice and moist. However, all the pieces were dripping grease when bitten into and the bottom of the box was covered in a pool of grease. The tater tots were adequate and the coleslaw needed a bit of vinegar to help its flavor. This restaurant has a health rating of R, which means it is a repeat violator of the health code and has not fixed the last violations. I cannot in good conscience give a rating higher than one star. Between all the grease, and timid seasoning as well as the health score any higher would be difficult to give. 1 Star read more

There are tons of chicken joints popping up everywhere these days and this one got my attention for the day. Located in a little shopping center with plenty of parking, you'll find this hole in the wall with some decent food. Very simple and minimal decor EXCEPT for the pretty cool paintings that are hanging on most walls. I got the honey chicken sandwich with mac and cheese. The sandwich wasn't bad. Definitely juicy chicken with good seasoning and good sized. The mac was very box like too simple for me but the fries were more than good enough. Price wise, this place isn't bad. You get your moneys worth and some good food. I gotta mention there isn't a rest room and I really needed to wash my hands. Luckily the young gent behind the counter allowed me to use a sink against the wall. We had some banter and he asked my opinion on the place and I was honest. He also told me that there were locations closer to the state I live in and I thought that was pretty cool. A fairly small shop serving hot chicken. The music playing with the TV going at a low volume is a bit strange. The service was fine. The chicken combo is around 13.50, drinks not included. It comes with a dipping sauce and a side. Loaded fries are a dollar extra and definitely not worth it. It only comes with a tiny amount of bacon and cheese with lots of green onion. The green onion overpowers any flavor and I picked them out. I got the honey butter and Nashville chicken both spicy. Both lack flavor and the dipping sauce is necessary to save the sandwich. However, the sauces we tried (comeback and house) are not very flavorful either or distinct from each other. The bun was good but that doesn't really make the sandwich. The fries are much better than the tots and are fried well. Overall very pricey for the amount you get and lacks flavor compared to competitors or even fast food shops.
