You could not even tell the items were repaired - they looked brand new! More recently, Matt needed a suit adjusted - the suit jacket was tight in the shoulder area and across the back so he asked for it to be let out. To our surprise, Adelina shared and demonstrated that the shoulders hung too low and the suit jacked actually needed to be taken in to correct the problem. We were both skeptical because taking in the suit to make it feel looser seemed counter-intuitive to us. Sure enough, upon our return the suit jacket fit perfectly and was very comfortable-the desired goal was met! She knew exactly what needed to be done! She also took in the sleeves on the jacket, raised the jacket hem and took in the pant legs - all of which gave him a much improved fit and look - he's a GQ kind of man now! DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU JUST WANT AN ALTERATION! As soon as I tried on my prom dress, she instantly went ahead and mentioned a few changes that could be made to my dress. Although I only wanted the bottom of my dress to be altered, I still agreed with the changes that could be made to the dress. However I did not agree after when she mentioned the total would be $500 dollars. I had to tell her no on the other changes since I only wanted the bottom to be fixed. She had no problem getting rid of the pins and to only focus on the bottom. But then that's when the service shifted. A few weeks later, I came back to pick up my prom dress and I tried it on. As soon as I put the dress on, she immediately said "I told you" as she points to the top of my dress, suggesting that it should be fixed from the top. I felt completely comfortable with my dress, but as she was making those kinds of comments, it felt like she wanted me to hate my dress. The consultation went well and I felt comfortable with the suggestions - those were the positives. We went through all of the pricing before I left where I was given a breakdown of cost and it was going to be around $260 which already seemed high, but I approved as the work needed to be done. This owner/tailor is a complete scam artist. She totally took advantage of my son who new nothing about getting suits or sport coats altered. Since she came recommended from a friend, with great hesitation he paid her the money she requested. My son stressed SEVERAL times to her that he only paid $120 for the sport coat and would like minimum alternations. She pressed hard on insisting it needed a ton of work and proceeded to charge him $450.00 for alterations for the $120.00 sport coat. He kept advising her "but I only paid $120.00 for the sport coat" Regarding his suit, she did not give him an itemized breakdown of her pricing for specific alterations and charged him another $600.00 of alternations for an $800.00 suit. In total she charged him over $1,000 and then she had the nerve to tac on another $120.00 for a rush fee. Needless to say we still do not have the sport coat back. When I called her to ask for the sport jacket back and the money for the item she stated she already started work on it. That was 2 weeks ago and we still don't have the sport jacket. When I called to confront her on all of the above and ask for an itemized breakdown, the only thing she could say was "I spent a lot of time on the items". I took in a new jacket with a complicated zipper that had broken. She replaced the zipper and you cannot tell it was just put in. The cost of the zipper was very reasonable and about a third of the cost of a new jacket! She also added trim to my Euro shams. Again the cost was reasonable, and the end product was beautiful! This was my first time using AZ Tailoring and I am now going to be a customer for life. I bought a 3 piece suit a few years ago and the store I bought it from "tailored" it but didn't actually listen to what I wanted so it never really fit right.
