You could not even tell the items were repaired - they looked brand new! More recently, Matt needed a suit adjusted - the suit jacket was tight in the shoulder area and across the back so he asked for it to be let out. To our surprise, Adelina shared and demonstrated that the shoulders hung too low and the suit jacked actually needed to be taken in to correct the problem. We were both skeptical because taking in the suit to make it feel looser seemed counter-intuitive to us. Sure enough, upon our return the suit jacket fit perfectly and was very comfortable-the desired goal was met! She knew exactly what needed to be done! She also took in the sleeves on the jacket, raised the jacket hem and took in the pant legs - all of which gave him a much improved fit and look - he's a GQ kind of man now! My nephew who is on the quiet side even expressed how talented and impressed he was with her expertise, knowledge and craftsmanship! She is passionate about her work and it shows! Although I only wanted the bottom of my dress to be altered, I still agreed with the changes that could be made to the dress. However I did not agree after when she mentioned the total would be $500 dollars. I had to tell her no on the other changes since I only wanted the bottom to be fixed. She had no problem getting rid of the pins and to only focus on the bottom. But then that's when the service shifted. A few weeks later, I came back to pick up my prom dress and I tried it on. As soon as I put the dress on, she immediately said "I told you" as she points to the top of my dress, suggesting that it should be fixed from the top. I felt completely comfortable with my dress, but as she was making those kinds of comments, it felt like she wanted me to hate my dress. I still said no to the adjustments even though she kept wanting to convince me to. She charged me 130 in the beginning but ended up charging 150 on small changes WHEN I DIDNT ASK FOR IT.

Nina tailored my wedding dress which was detailed with 3D appliqués and also made me a custom veil…read morewith the appliqués sewed on. I do think she is a skilled tailor but simply does not have the time, energy, or attentiveness to brides for something as special as their wedding wear. I cannot in good faith recommend her to other brides for wedding alterations but think she is better off working in garments that are lower stakes. My biggest complaints are: - She gives you attitude if you push back or have feedback on work she's already done. She is very unwilling to course correct or adjust. - Is not the most respectful of your time. During my bridal appointment, she would allow multiple clients to come in and out during it and other customers would also offer commentary on my dress which I found extremely inappropriate. - Often had to be reminded to do a complete job. Some times the dress wasn't ready or hemmed yet and still had pins which resulted in at least 2 more appointments than necessary. - Lacking attention to detail. I had to clean up a lot of loose ends, fraying, threads, trim excess fabric, remove pencil marks when my final dress was done. I expected better for the price point I paid. - Finally and most egregiously, I asked Nina to sew on appliqué fabric I provided to my veil, both which were custom. She initially sewed the appliqués to the wrong side and said she would correct it by removing and resewing. When I received the final veil, it was beautiful but I noticed that rather than correcting her mistakes, Nina cut the entire veil from the hair comb and resewed it on. I found this to be extremely dishonest and upsetting. She also cut up the fabric I provided and butchered a lot of beautiful details I was hoping to preserve. I found it incredibly misleading of Nina to cut corners and literally cut a perfectly created custom veil rather than owning up and taking the time to correct her mistakes. My dress ended up being fine and wearable ultimately, but it would've been more worth it for me to pay a bit more to have a better experience overall. I do not recommend this business for other brides specifically.
