They tailored my prom dress back in 2019 and she did such a wonderful job that I'll never trust another person to tailor anything for me unless it's her. The price is low for the wonderful work they do. I brought in a jacket and the sleeves were totally floods on me. I looked ridiculous. We flew into Chicago at 1:30am today for a wedding. We were awoken at 8:30am with our wedding dresses and my daughter's was too small on the top. I didn't know what to do. It wasn't our wedding so we didn't want to ruin theirs. We were staying at the renaissance Schaumburg and googles this tailor. BAE is the best - so many positive experiences over the years! I haven't been to BAE for a few years due to the pandemic coupled with my residence being in the Chicago city limits. Recently I had some shirts custom made and needed some new pants altered for an upcoming conference. I explained my situation to the woman at the front counter (that if possible I would like by mid-week and would also like the shorts folded and boxed) and she in turn asked BAE if this was possible. I usually don't leave reviews but I had to leave one this time because the young guy at the shop was very helpful. My husband had a meeting for which he had to fly out of Chicago and his suits were at the shop for dry cleaning. Due to some circumstances we couldn't pick them up on Friday or Saturday and his flight was on Sunday. I left a message on Sunday morning on the google chat and got a reply within an hour saying when can you come for the clothes.....and remember their shop is closed on Sunday. The guy was already there waiting for me. Such good customer service, he was so understanding and kind. They value their old customers and know how to go above and beyond the normal customer service. I wasn't planning on leaving a bad review because mistakes happen but this place has no business ethics whatsoever. In October 2022 I got my bridesmaid dress altered here- the lady successfully convinced me to get breast pads inserted for an extra $20. Two weeks later I retrieved the dress and it was completely butchered with lopsided breast pads and exposed outside stitching?? It was DAYS before the wedding and ofc I was crying and freaking out. Went back the next day (I live in the city so it was not an easy trek) and the lady apologized profusely and agreed to fix it immediately, taking the breast pads out and credit $50 to my account. Today I went to redeem the credit and the lady denied that incident ever happened and refused to honor the credit applied to my account. Technically they owe me $70 as they took out the $20 breast pads. Bottom line: beware of getting alterations on expensive items here and do NOT trust verbal credit arrangements. I did not get a chance to see their sowing stations, but the counters were clean. Service: They offer standard cleaning services with a great helping of an accomodating staff. They are family owned and the Mom, Anny, was very cheerful. Service done: I had my Cole Han leather jacket reconditioned. Overall: Although they technically didn't work on my jacket per se, they send out their leathers to a specialty store, I was still very impressed. Prices are what you expect (just ran through some basic articles of clothing so nothing out of the norm) but the tailoring they did for my dress shirts was fantastic! Took my kitchen cafe curtains to be shortened, and one of them is both crooked as well as shorter than the other. The only way to fix would be to take all 4 back to align them, and then we would have to move the hardware, patch holes, etc, so I tried to just deal with it. Now I drive 15 minutes out of my way to ensure they get my business. Likes: - Very convenient drive thru and parking. It's covered, great for this town. It flows one direction. - Sliding doors. Carrying arms full of clothes is possible. - Very welcoming staff always a smile - Rewards program (50 pts free Laundered shirt) - Yes please! Bring more than 2 shirts get half off. - TEXT ALERTS (GTFOH Genius) Last but not least, my first interaction. I dropped off 12 shirts and 7 Slacks. I get 10 mins down the road, headed out of town, and I get a call from them letting me know there was a rip in one of my sleeves and offered to fix it at a very reasonable $5. I appreciate the service but more so the fact they continued to ask for my business. My old cleaners were less expense by a lot. But they were rude and never had my stuff done on time. Went in to get 3 pairs off pants altered, the lady helping me was rushing as I was trying them on so she could see how much she needed to bring them up, she couldn't wait to get me out the door. This was a Saturday, did not get them back until Thursday. Noticed that the zipper on one pair of pants was busted, was probably broken from before. Took them in on Friday, told they would be ready following Saturday, 8 days later. Show up to pick them up today, at 3:30 (was told to show up after 3, they close at 4). They were not ready, I'm told to leave and come back in half an hour, as I am trying to ask the lady questions she walks away from me telling me good bye. I decide to sit and wait, she comes back not 2 minutes later and tells me they are ready. I look at them they seem fine, go home as I am looking at the zipper closer, I realize that it's the same zipper as before, they did not replace it, they managed to fix it, which is great, but not for the $18.00 they charged me for it. Customer service is terrible, but what really aggravated me is the dishonesty in the way they handled that zipper repair. I would have gladly paid for what they did, but the fact they did not say anything about fixing it vs. repairing it, and kept the $18.00, that is not good business. I am not going to ask for my money back, but I will never go back there again, will not recommend them, and will leave bad reviews anywhere where their name comes up read more
