Upon walking in, I immediately felt like I was transported back to Korea with the seating arrangement, self-help water station (much preferred for people like me that drink a lot of water), the K-pop music playing in the background, the warm welcome from Kim and Sarah, and a genuine taegukgi (Korean flag) from the Korean War (SUPER COOL, see picture). The beef stone bowl was one of the best I have had in North America (no joke) and reminded me a lot of my time in South Korea. The ratio of meat, rice, and vegetables were spot on and the marinade on the meat was so good. The egg was cooked perfectly with some runny yolk. And the cherry on top was the slightly crispy rice on the bottom of the stone bowl. I honestly would have had another bowl if I didn't have to catch a flight. The seaweed soup complimented the stone bowl perfectly. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better traditional Korean meal before my flight. The other thing that makes this restaurant special is the customer service. Kim and Sarah were so welcoming and we even shared some great conversation. I would come back just for them. An employee of a business within the same building came in and you can tell based off their interaction that Kim and Sarah are respected and loved in the community. Thank you Stone Bowl, Kim, and Sarah for giving me a little taste of Korea during my work trip. I will be back!

There used to be a different Korean place here before that I had gone a few times for lunch awhile back. Now, it's under new ownership. Parking is on the street although they do have a paid parking garage. Also, they don't have their own washroom but they will give you a code to go to go one for the mall. When we came in we were seated right away. They had a good crowd on this Saturday evening. The decor they had old knickknacks on the walls which added to the vibe. What we liked about this place is all the main dishes were on these metal trays with lots of sides around which is where they derive their restaurant name from. My son ordered the White Pork Bone Soup which he enjoyed. Broth was flavourful and he liked the glass noodles. The pork meat was good but hard to get at everything. My daughter and I had the Dak-Galbi (soy garlic). The chicken was so tender and tasty. It also came with a little soup which matched the overall meal. My wife got the Special which was slow-cooked beef short rib soup. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Meat was tender, broth was flavourful. All the meals came with sides which we liked. There was cucumber, salad, garlic potato, kimchi, seaweed salad, bean sprouts, and rice, If the table all gets meal then you get refills on the sides. Note, that it's one refill per side per person. But if a person didn't want a side then you could get their refill. The family really enjoyed their meal. Staff were friendly and explained the dishes when we had questions. We definitely will come back.

My mom hasn't had the best experience with Korean food in the past (i.e. ate waaay too much at AYCE kbbq and has been traumatized since) but I haven't seen many places that offer Korean hot pot so we decided to give it a try. The hot pot is meant for two people. We got the obulsi hot pot which is bulgogi, calamari, veggies, and glass noodles. It comes with two bowls of rice on the side. There was surprisingly a lot of meat and calamari and a good portion for two. The obulsi has more of a clear broth, so it was light and flavorful. They were quite busy so it was a bit of a wait, but honestly no complaints. There is water and hot barley tea that you can help yourself to. Such a great price for all the food you get and my mom said this was one of her favorite meals from the trip. The food court may not be the most aesthetic, but it has some delicious food!

This is not gourmet K food. It does not put on airs. It was pretty much Korean home cooking scaled up for a restaurant.
