    4. Agedashi Tofu

Made a pickup order because I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm very glad I did! Upon pickup, I noticed the restaurant is very clean, with nice ambience. The gentleman at the counter was kind, and the food was hot. I ordered the Agedashi Tofu, the Juicy buns, and the Tom Kha soup. The Tofu is delicious with a light crispy outer layer, and a tasty dipping sauce to accompany it. The juicy buns, though they seem to be from frozen, were cooked through, full of soup, and had great flavor, also served in a great sauce. The Tom Kha is also delightful, the perfect balance of tang, spice, and richness. The total cost for all the food was 24 dollars roughly, and the portions were all very fair for the prices! I will definitely be taking my girlfriend here in the future for an in-house meal.

She had never served it. Then she asked if I wanted to order it. I told her I don't know what's in it. She continued with cucumbers and she thought a vinaigrette. I asked her who there would know? She went to ask. Then I asked "does the Pho come with basil, jalapeños, and sprouts?" She said she was new and didn't know. So she went to ask. I told her well you need to study the menu because you're offering this food to people. Once that was all mangled up, I have to say that the fried spring rolls were tasty. The house salad was fresh and crispy with the best ginger dressing. (I bought a pint to take home!) I passed on the Pho because they told me it didn't come with basil or jalepenos and I couldn't imagine Pho being served without them., only sprouts. I went for the Singapore Rice Noodles. The picture was beautiful, the presentation was a blob on a plate. The taste was unseasoned rice noodles. No taste whatsoever. No garlic. No curry taste. I could taste the egg. I asked for the seasoning to add to it and was able to get down half of it. I rank it a 3 because the place looks nice and the wait staff was pleasant, but the food was way under seasoned. I'd go back only to buy more ginger sauce. I drive 1 hour to eat there so this trip was a bust.

I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). Definitely check out brewery bhavana if you are looking for excellent Chinese food in the Raleigh area. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Well, I finally got to try Brewery Bhavana and it was indeed incredible. Definitely worth the hype. We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. It was light and sippable, and I appreciate their diverse beer and cocktail offerings. I can't wait to visit Raleigh again because this will be my first stop!

I ordered the lo mein, bamboo flounder fish, and a side of fried rice. Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

The combo options are absolutely on point, with generous portions, perfectly cooked seafood, and seasoning that brings everything together without overpowering the natural flavors. It's one of the better seafood boils I've had in eastern North Carolina. The sushi is equally impressive. Everything tasted fresh, was beautifully prepared, and offered a nice variety of traditional rolls and specialty creations. It's not often you find a place that does both seafood boils and sushi this well. The service was friendly and attentive, and despite the size of the restaurant, the food came out promptly. Starting with the Egg Foo Young - the actual egg part was just okay. The gravy that came with it left this weird after taste in my mouth and I could not eat much of it. For my side I requested white rice and got vegetable fried rice. It was also just okay. I would honestly rather just eat a pack of frozen fried rice from Sam's Club. Now onto the Dim Sum - it definitely had an interesting flavor and I could not have eaten the two that I did without the soy sauce provided. It seemed to have been frozen prior and the filling was like a meat gel. Sorry for putting that image in your head!! Service - the service was good. The lady behind the counter welcomed me and my food was ready for me when I got there. Both food items are now in the trash and I sadly will not be going here again. Five Star did not disappoint! The small details stood out-like the bowl one of our entrees was delivered in was in the shape of a star. The wood tables had stars emblazoned in them and the stars in the windows-nice touch! The lighting was perfect and the hanging lights were uniquely beautiful. We saw all different types of diners: a few couples on dates, a midsize party in the private room, a solo diner, a large family, a business group nearby discussing work and celebrating something, young parents with a couple of well-behaved toddlers and even a set of new parents where the mother was wearing her newborn! Seriously, there is something for everyone here. We decided to try several items so we could sample as much as possible. Their five-star chicken dish and chili garlic green beans were my choice, and I am so glad I chose those! When I return, I liked them so much I am not sure I will be able to try anything else bc I want them again! Their steamed dumplings, rice and chicken wraps were also to die for! I thought surely we would want to take something home-nope! We stuffed ourselves and loved every minute of it. The ambiance was great. Our table was perfectly located so we could even watch the trains go by as built-in entertainment! The manager, Evan, was pleasant. Niko and Alex were our servers and such a joy to have serve us. Everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs. Even the hostess was cheerful. It makes a difference when, as a patron, you feel appreciated and the staff is eager to serve. I immediately remembered the meal and how tasty everything was. We started off with several apps, including some soup dumplings, crab rangoons (with actual crab in them, not just cheese turnovers), and some crispy spicy garlic shrimp. All were delicious, the soup dumplings still stand out in my head as favorites. The portion on the crispy shrimp was excellent. We went family style on the dinner... beef lo mein, general tso chicken, cashew chicken, and spicy mongolian beef. That all came with a big bowl of communal rice, and we all left stuffed and satisfied. There wasn't a dish on the table we wouldn't order again. As with anything downtown, parking can be a little tricky. I was able to find free street parking about a block down, but that's all gonna be luck based. The lot behind the restaurant was totally full. Would come back next time I visit Raleigh!

I like that they gave a lot of sauce, but I think it could've been packaged better because the sauce was spilling out into the bag and other items before I opened it (and I had to be careful when opening and closing the box). The Curry Lo Mein was also really good -- it had more meat than veggies, which felt more worth it, and the entire box was filled. They gave us hefty rice portions, too. Although the food was yummy, it wasn't the best Chinese place I've been to. I loved my Mongolian Beef dish, but it was 75% onions and although the description said there were bamboo shoots, I didn't see any (I was a bit sad about this). One of us got the Cashew Shrimp and although it was good, it didn't have much sauce compared to the others and had a lot of fillers, too: 40% celery and maybe 10-15% carrots. The seafood dishes were good but they used imitation crab, which isn't awful and still tasted fine, but we were expecting other seafood. All in all, this place isn't bad for a quick stop! The service was quick and simple, and the place was casual and had decent seating options for a takeout place.
