Azteca were great! We asked Julio and Cesar to demolish a deck, dig out old cement under the deck and walkway, and install new brick pavers as well as some river rock by the alley. The price they quoted us was very reasonable and competitive with other contractors. They were very informative during the initial meeting, helping us to understand the scope of the project, and they brought good design ideas that we hadn't thought of. Julio handled communication on our project, and he was responsive and proactive. They worked incredibly fast - they started the project a few days earlier than expected and finished in four days. We wanted a small brick paver patio installed and were having a lot of trouble getting other companies to come out for an estimate, and/or get back to me with an estimate after coming out to look. I got the sense that other companies were not motivated/interested in a small job. Julio from Azteca showed up on time for the estimate appointment and was very helpful, giving us an estimate on the spot. We were having a party the following weekend, and Julio was able to squeeze our project in for the same week, which was great! Patio looks great and was ready just in time for the party. We are very happy with the brick driveway/patio that Azteca installed for us. They were great to work with, offered competitive pricing, and were very easy to communicate with before, during, and after the project. Julio is a great project manager and very responsive to questions, concerns, etc. They began the installation within a couple of weeks of the estimate and were done with the project within a couple of days. I previously had a great experience with Azteca when I first used them in 2015. I reached out to them for another similar scale project in summer 2016. NIGHTMARE! They strung me along for two months, never able to exactly nail down a date. They told me they'll come any day when the crew was available. I reached out 20+ times over the course of two months... with the vast majority of calls and text messages not returned. I finally got a text message that they won't be free for ANOTHER 2 months because a more important project came up. I had a frustrating experience and I would not recommend them. I ended up going with Green Lakes Landscaping Inc. and they started the work a few days later for the same price as Azteca. Azteca was busy and I get that. Just be honest and don't string me along for two months! That lacked common courtesy. read more

We had a patio with pavers completed in our backyard about 10 feet by 16 feet. They came out and completed the work in a day (even brought their own microwaves to warm up lunch!). The work and materials seem to be of excellent quality and the price was reasonable. I only gave 4 stars as it was a little chalangeling getting ahold of someone initially but once I finally spoke to someone I received an estimate and quote quickly. Would recommended to others and use again in the future if we have a need for more outside brick/paver work! read more

I got a backyard brick paver estimate from Azteca Brick Paving because we saw their office sign in our neighborhood. We like to work locally if possible, and they also had good online reviews. It was the busy summer season, so it took a bit for us to get a response and estimate. Once we got it, the estimate was competitive and they offered some ideas about design, porous vs. regular brick installation and subsequent project pricing. I liked dealing with a family-run business as well. They showed up as expected early on both days and completed our back yard in 1.5 days. They even added an arc cut that made the project look even better that wasn't in the original plan. read more

LIARS!! The owner (Cesar) and son (Julio) came out to my home several times and worked really hard at earning my business. They answered all my questions, replied to my phone calls promptly and made the experience seemingly positive. That is until after the installation process was over. It took a total of 4 days and after it was complete (roughly 2 months ago) and he was PAID, I began seeing problems with the bricks and the installation itself. Although the bricks (i.e. material) was not his direct fault, Cesar refused numerous times to even come out to the house to discuss the issues. First, he installed the bricks too high, which left a 1 inch GAP between my foundation (90 total linear feet) and the actual bricks. When it rains, the water sits in this GAP and the odor begins to enter my family room and bathroom (NOT a good smell). Also, there are several areas on the paver installation that are not slanted AWAY from the house, which has resulted in rain being collected in those areas. Also, Cesar used crappy sand and every time it rains, the sand leaves the space in between the bricks and there are big spaces in between. Also, Cesar did a terrible job of nailing in all the plastic edgers along the perimeter, which has resulted in the bricks moving. Instead of putting a heavy duty nail through each hole for ultimate support, he put a nail in every OTHER nail, which then makes the bricks more likely to move. Lastly, Cesar (operated the Bobcat machine) damaged a number of window ledges, an outlet and gutters along the perimeter of the house. Not once did he tell me he caused any of this damage. Thankfully, my wife was video taping the work and happened to catch him causing the damage. I should note that Cesar claims to be UNILOCK certified, but I have spoken to several people in UNILOCK that stated (Territory manager who came to my house and a sales manager via email) that he is NOT UNILOCK certified. False advertisement!! What I thought what would a positive experience turned out to be the WORST, and Cesar repeatedly changes his explanations and conversations in order to avoid having to do any work. I finally spoke with him and despite me being very patient, he continues to refuse to fix the problems (although I have a 5 year warranty on the work and labor), and he almost always HANGS UP the phone. DO NOT use this company when there are so many others out there. I have all of the pictures, text messages, emails and more to prove my points. Now I have been forced to take the next step in this process in order to have the damage corrected and at NO cost to me! read more

They created a curving flagstone path between our house and our neighbor's that was beautifully executed -- real craftsman quality -- along with a brick walkway and a small patio. Azteca to the rescue! After another company botched the stonework on our front porch stairs, we turned to Azteca to clean up the mess. Cesar and Julio are creative and responsive. They ripped out the stone that had been improperly put in place and laid in the right material with beautiful results. All along the way, they presented ideas to further improve the job, and carefully explained choices so we would end up with exactly what we wanted. It's clear the Azteca team takes as much pride as we do in making the entrance to our home inviting--and safe. Terrible! They came out for an estimate very quickly, the only good thing about them. That was at least 2 months ago and I have not received an estimate yet. I have tried to call then numerous times either no answer or the son Julio says they should have the estimate that week. Companies should not treat customers like that if you don't want the job say so and move along. If it were possible to get into a time machine and NOT take that leap of faith I described in my earlier 2015 review, I would. If you are looking for quality, long-lasting brickwork, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!!!! (...or at least realize that you are getting exactly what you pay for and will likely have to hire someone, as we did, to fix Azteca's mistakes). Azteca is great at luring in business, but truly horrible at following up to correct any mistakes (even ones that are allegedly guaranteed under warranty.) Once we paid in full and once they got us to write a Yelp review (which they specifically ASKED us to write, completely in violation of Yelp policy), they essentially disappeared. I called/texted Julio over a dozen times, getting from him a string of promises to come back to repair chipped and sinking pavers, to no avail. I tried again this year, and did not even get the courtesy of a reply. Brickwork and hardscaping is a big investment -- take your money elsewhere or you too will live to regret it. read more
