With our stay here in Bothell Wa. We originally was going to go to Olive Garden but their was a 50 minute and seen Azteca next door so we came over and we don't regret coming here. I ordered the Burrito Blanco and had chicken, rice, beans and some type of white sauce, and Damn was it ever good. I haven't gone to too many Azteca places but this place was pretty awesome and our waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcome. I'm not sure how far it was from our hotel in Bothell and I believe we were in Kirkland but if you're in the area go try the burrito Blanco it is so damn good you won't regret trying it out. read more

I am a little unsure why this place only gets 3 reviews. Sure, it's "Americanized" Mexican but that's to be expected and everything I have tried has been pretty tasty. My favorite is the chili verde which you get a huge portion of for lunch. Go at lunch for solid lunch specials! The service is always friendly too. I'm giving it 5 stars when I get my usual waiter and waitress they are genuinely beyond amazing. I get a Pepsi to go every time because I work nearby and they give me a normal sized cup. I've gone in a couple times where I have a different waitress and when I ask for a cup it's as if I've asked her to run 10 miles haha and she's the only one out of all the restaurants I've ever been to to give it in a small kids size cup. I had never even seen these water cups until this person because I'm convinced that's what they are. Very interesting to watch change over the years, closing down locations etc but when staff are not genuine or spiteful it puts a sour taste in your mouth. I will always love Azteca and have been a loyal customer for years but I had to make this post because it's the same as when they started making the salsa cups less than half the size like who is controlling this as someone in supply chain, I would love to have a chat!!! read more

The staff here are the most friendly and attentive I have had at any restaurant in a while now! Great lunch portion size of the chicken, great flavors. I ordered the veggie fajitas and there was not even a char on my veggies, filled with water at the bottom which means it was just microwaved. It was served with white rice too??? I've never been to a Mexican restaurant where they serve white rice.70% of it was slimy onions with a few pieces of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and zucchini. No way it was grilled. My boyfriend ordered the tacos carbon which were much better than mine.. I normally am lenient with food reviews but I could not finish this food at all-I really hate to point out the bad because I'm sure their menu has some great food, I just didn't get that tonight. Picked up a to go order for first time from the Kirkland location. Been visiting the now closed Redmond and Northgate locations for decades. Friendly man provided me with my order and the pickup was easy and pleasant. The problem was some of the food and the online ordering of the Azteca site. If you choose a burrito as your combination you have meat choices or cheese. Azteca needs to update the "Cheese" selection to "Bean and cheese." I've never ran into this on many previous orders at other locations, but the cook gave me a flour tortilla with just cheese inside. The burrito had no beans! Azteca should list beans and cheese as the selection for burritos in the combination plate, so their cooks aren't confused in the future. So I had a flavorless tortilla with cheese inside as a burrito. The enchiladas had hardly any sauce or cheese on top of them. The rice/beans were good. The meal was totally off compared to many years of dining/ordering at other Azteca locations. I love Azteca, but the food on this day just did not live up to the usual expectations. Food: I had much better I had authentic Mexican food in Mexico and locally. And, I am not expecting the same here. All dishes are edible but are lacking of flavor. The pork was actually done well in texture; just no flavor. The salsa is watery and has zero flavor. The chip container came without liner and the wood like/bamboo like container (I don't think it is the machine washable type...). So, use your imagination ... We haven't been to an Azteca restaurant since the Redmond location closed, but we always enjoyed the food and especially the service. We're happy to report that the same great food and service are available at this Kirkland (Totem Lake) location. The queso blanco with the chips was delicious. My wife had shrimp quesadillas and I had my favorite: quesadillas a la crema. Everything was perfect. The only small issue I have is recommending more caramel be used in the flan. In addition to the food being great, the service was excellent. Many years ago, I used to be fluent in Spanish. However, I'm very much out of practice now, so it was especially appreciated when the staff spoke Spanish with me. Thanks for the kind words, great food, and wonderful service! read more

I ordered a Fajita Burrito. It was the worst. About 3 pieces raw onion, no bell peppers and no beans, just a heap of room temperature rice and a few chunks of beef. The cook does not care. I asked the waitress if I could have some beans on the side for the burrito; they were served lukewarm. And one wonders why this place is always practically empty. And BTW this is just one of several disappointments. Admittedly, there's a lack of good Mexican restaurants in Seattle, but this one is a rip off because they are serving up sloppy, poor quality Mexican food. Decided to go to Azteca last minute this afternoon I brought my service dog with me they proceeded to keep asking me if he was a service animal with his vest on it was clear he was then as we got seated one of the employees asked if he could sit under the table I didn't want to argue I was hungry and wanted some food but it could have very well been a much bigger issue if I had insisted my service animal must be seated next to me no one refilled our water my grandfathers tacos were bland no flavor and one employee female to be specific kept passing by just staring I wouldn't eat here unless you want poor service and to be looked at weird besides that I'd never come back here again! read more

This is one of our go to location for dinner if we don't know what to cook. Azteca is quick and good. I like their new menu as there are some healthier options for those of us who are trying to be healthier. Sometimes I just get my usual which is the Enchilada en Mole. Which is really yummy. But I also love their lettuce wrap tacos. Those are for the times when I feel like I need to be more healthy but I want that nice Mexican flavors. The staff is really nice and pleasant and they are quick to attend to our needs. I always enjoy going there. It could be a little cleaner and maybe have more healthier options, but overall a good value for what you pay for. We always enjoy coming here and my son loves their kids Mexi Bites. Even better still, the atmosphere and service are some of the best I've enjoyed in 3 countries!!! This time I had the Chicken Fajitas, and as always the food was cooked perfectly. Good fajitas are an art, they many seem simple when you eat them but as a chef myself I can tell you it's all about time, temperature, and the right ingredients! Azteca gets the highest marks for that since these were perfect! The chicken was hot, properly cooked on the outside, juicy on the inside and perfectly seasoned for the average American. The vegetables, now there's more artwork. So many places incinerate perfectly good vegetables and call it good. Not Azteca, they strike the perfect balance between piping hot, lightly caramelized onthe outside and still firm and with a bit of snap on the inside. Again lightly seasoned for the average American, these were perfect. Okay, let's talk atmosphere, the decor, lighting, everything is as good or better than places you'll find in South America and Mexico. It practically screams authentic in a subtle, understated and so welcoming fashion. This is more like someone's comfortable dining room than a restaurant. It's so perfect. Everything speaks to comfort, welcome, and relaxation. Which brings me to the service and the staff. From the moment we walked in we were greeted like family, from the gentleman who remembered us from the last time and didn't need to see our proof of vaccination again (because he remembered us from a few weeks ago) and sat us promptly and happily, again, making us feel more like family than customers to the lovely and fun Estela who was more than just a server, she was more like a good friend. She was busy, it was a busy night, but she kept passing by to make sure we had everything we needed, refreshing our drinks, and making us feel like we were at home, not at a business somewhere. She, like everyone I've ever interacted with at Azteca is awesome, friendly, relaxed and casual, never making us fell rushed, instead letting us feel like we were part of the family. Delicious Mexicali restaurant. They served us with fresh tortilla chips and salsa. I got the camarones Monterey. It comes with a fresh soft taco wraps with beans, rice, cheese, guacamole and veggies. It's absolutely delicious. The jumbo shrimps were delicious and well seasoned. I recommend this place. Lunch menu and prices not offered for lunch time hours on the weekends. Why not? I stopped by for lunch a few days ago and wanted to order lunch. It was a Saturday and I was told I couldn't order off that menu because it's only offered Monday-Friday. The Lunch Menu vs Dinner Menu is a trend I'm not good with. I don't want to be forced to buy a larger portion at the higher price just because of the hour hand on the clock. I want to order based on MY appetite and my budget. I love carne asada but if I'm not that hungry why cant I have the option to order the smaller "lunch" sized portion at $12 -16 dollars instead of $18 - 22. (Prices vary depending on the Mexican resturant) I don't want to spend $18-22 dollars on a lunch when I'm not that hungry. The waitress was nice, the tortilla soup I ordered was good. The service was a little slow even though i was the only one there. I want restaurants to give the customer the option to order a small or large portion, not based on the time of the day but based on the customers appetite and wallet. read more
