I recommend the sopitos appetizer (or as your happy hour meal) and also I loved the Barbacoa de Borrego (braised lamb). We visited on 5 May for lunch, with a party of four, and it was a very nice experience. We arrived and were seated right away in a nice booth. The waitress arrived and took drink orders, their margaritas are tall and strong. We started with appetizers; Chips & Guac, Ceviche, Chapulines, and Molotes. All were well prepared and tasty, with the Chapulines standing out as a unique snack. From there we went with Camerones a la Oaxaquena, Barbacoa De Borrego, and Entomatadas. Everything was excellent. Authentic Oaxacan restaurant. There are many more traditional dishes than what you would see at a mainstream Mexican restaurant. I appreciate the authenticity and enjoyed my dish the mole tamale. It came with rice and black beans and was a very large portion. We also ordered the cheese enchiladas with green sauce. Nothing was spicy but it was flavorful. There is indoor and outdoor dining. What a great first impression. The ensalada was fresh. The added grilled chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The carne asada was also perfectly grilled. The steak was a little hard to cut against the grain but easily pulled apart with the grain. Black beans were flavorful (reminiscent of Peso's on lower queenanne). Cactus pico had nice size chunks of cactus in it. House made corn tortillas were really good. I'm generally only a flour tortilla hombre. The house white wine was good and the Cadillac marg was outstanding in flavor balance. We also tried the chapalinas (pan seared grasshoppers). There is a little spiciness to them but they were good. First time having them. Lastly they are a mexcal bar and make their own line of mezcal and you can buy by the bottle there. The presentation of the mezcal included a dab of mezcal worm salt. So between the chicken, steak, grasshoppers and worm salt, it was grubbing! ;-) Parking is tough, but i think they have garage parking. We look forward to our next visit. read more

We were skeptical to try but wanted to give it a shot. This is first time am trying grasshoppers. To be frank it tasted good. Not bad at all. It had tangy taste more like pickle. 2. Carne de mexicana This comes with two tortillas black beans rice and sautéed beef. The beef was good. But the tortilla was not great. Overall the dish lacked spice and seasoning. It was more of bland taste. Not a a big fan. The dishes were value for money. You would get a decent portion. But somehow the tastes were more bland The service was great. The waiter were friendly and welcoming Ambiance was good. You have both inside restaurant and patio seating. Parking might be a problem. It's on street parking or you need to park near by mall. The place had great ambience. The parking outside wasn't that bad. They have free 2-hour parking. We had a party of 5 and were able to be seated immediately. Not sure if it was because it was a random Tuesday night. We were adventurous and we got the spicy toasted grasshoppers for appetizers including chips and guac. Chips and guac were normal. Grasshoppers were interesting. I wouldn't get it again but I am glad I got to try it at least once. I got Carne Asada with Steak as my main. It was also okay. Nothing really great to talk about it but satisfied my hunger. I really wanted to like this place because we need good Mexican here in Redmond and on the eastside in general. First the restaurant is cozy with a nice ambiance. Beautifully appointed as they would say. I could see myself at the bar some happy hour swilling margaritas. The drinks are tasty. The menu is varied. Now I've been a couple of times and was fair to middling about the food the first time. But I wanted to try again so I did and ordered the nachos. Bad idea. These were the worst nachos I'd ever eaten. The beef was not seasoned and its as if this were some custom dish I'd ordered though it's on the menu. The toppings were strewn about haphazardly and it was just overall disappointing. (For better nachos in Redmond, try Northwest Brewing Company). Dare I give it a third try? We have been here in some occasions since they opened. Ambience is nice. Bar is so lovely with this rall tree by the entrance. They changed it's decor now and then. They recently added papel Picard outside for summer. You will find true Oaxacan food. Not from all Mexico, but this particular State. One very interesting item is their Yellow Mole in tamal. I love their sopitos with soft cooked plantain. Hard to get soft around. They also have Moltes! Which I think they are from Puebla, but it's a good addition. Tlayudas are kind of Oaxaca pizza. I just wish they had Tasajo on it :( Drinks are just splendid with Mezcal. It is deeper than Tequila. The Mezcal flight is a delight. Overall I would recommend them to try this specific cuisine. read more

We wanted to try this place, and while I appreciate that I never had to worry about salt, there was hardly any flavor to most any of the food. The best and most flavorful dish was the plantain mole bites, which were delicious. I was excited about the rajas dip but it managed to barely taste like corn, even with lots of poblano and onion and cheese. I was also excited about the tostadas but again, so faintly flavored the lettuce was the most flavorful item WITH the pico on top. My honey's chicken taquitos were super dry. The tres leches was even dry and coarse, as if they had just recently poured the milks into the cake before serving--the strawberries saved it. The horchata is cloyingly sweet. I got carne asada quesadillas to go and the beans for that dish had better flavor but the meat wasn't grilled and had more gristle than I care for. It was a perfect day to be on the patio. We had people checking on taking our plates frequently but they never noticed my water--once I asked for a refill, they did bring me a carafe. My gauge is always "Would I rather go to Chipotle?" We ordered nachos and chips with three types of dips, and everything was super flavorful. I really like this restaurant. It is somewhat small, but decorated well, and has a nice ambiance. There is easy parking in the garage (no need for validation). Food is Oaxacan, so it is a little different than the normal Tex-Mex style food. There is enough variety on the menu so everyone should be able to find something they like. Service was fine. Went for the tacos, not the booze. Unfortunately they do not do "sampler" tacos, you have to order three of each protein you want. Since I wasn't too hungry I settled for the fish tacos, I guess I'll have to come back and try the other ones... Good balance of flavors, nice size, and the salsa was spicy but not to the point where it overpowers the flavors. Service was quick and friendly, just the right amount of chatty-happy vs leaving the customer alone. Sat outside, midday on a Saturday, so can't really say anything about the ambience of the place. We went here for dinner, got the Asada plate ($20) and ordered an extra asada steak (+$12). Talking about the service and food, we ordered ceviche for appetizer and cheese quesadilla for my kid. Looking at it, I knew it was not gonna be great. My kid ate but did not like it at all. The food was excellent.. I had the fish tacos with a glass of Horchata. My husband had a chicken burrito with a coke. It was a hot day, we sat outside... it may have been wiser to sit inside. There was plenty of staff and they all were attentive when we first arrived.. once our food arrived... we became invisible. I managed to flag down our server to get my husband's Coke refilled one time. We waited forever to get someone's attention again to get our check. There were 4-5 staff members all hanging around the table at the entrance, talking, visiting with friends, watering plants, etc... we could not get their attention. The time I managed to flag down our server, was through the glass inside. This was our first experience here... and while the food was delicious, the service will most likely prevent us from returning. We had just taken a 22 mile bike ride. Man oh man. My wife and I just moved from Sunny San Diego and were in desperate need of some good authentic Oaxacan food. This place blew our minds and taste buds. I always order like I am a food critic so we got three amazing plates. Each amazing, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Portions are bigger than expected which was great for our lunch prep for the next day. I can honestly say that we would order these dishes again, but gained confidence in coming back and trying more from their menu. They have Pozole so I will for sure be back for that :) 10/10 on food Drinks: we tried 4 of them, all made very well and they weren't shy with their pours so that's a plus. 10/10 on drinks. Ambiance: Loved every moment spent here. Play list was on fire. Dessert: we only tried the tres leches, and that I have to say was a little different for me. Not bad different, just not what I have been used to eating. 10/10 Customer service: 100/100, I can't say this enough. Our girl Jazmin was just so lovely and generous. I am so glad I didn't have to base my overall experience just on the customer service, this place truly has the trifecta with food, drinks, and customer service. Price: considering the quality of the food, I thought it was reasonably priced. Total for 1 entry, 2 main dishes, and 4 drinks = $131 excluding tip. Would I come back? Saturday lunch. Seated ourselves in the bar. Quickly greeted and drink order taken. Margaritas served in tumblers. My Cadillac margarita had little grand Marnier in it, could not really taste it. Server came back to take food order. I ordered "Mole Rojo," which offered choice of pork or chicken. I specified pork. Food arrived, nachos and tacos for the others in my party. They were good. My Mole tasted fine but was only lukewarm. It also was not pork. I ate a couple bites but was not sure it was chicken until a thigh bone popped up. I caught the server next time he came by and let him know and he said he'd take it off the bill. Why he didn't offer to remake it I don't know, maybe they didn't HAVE pork. I had a little more as it was OK even if not hot and not the pork I had ordered. Bill did not include the mole so got that right. First time trying this spot last week. Ordered take out. Forgot to take pics but my wife said the chicken nachos were the best in town. My picky 11year old also really liked the kids chicken quesadillas. I got the carne asada street tacos and they were good. Not the best I've ever had but decent.
