Worst service ever!!!! After sitting for 15 minutes, the waitress finally brought us a menu. We ordered one Cuba coffee and one American coffee. 15 more minutes went by and she came to take our order. We mentioned we still hadn't received our coffee. She came back 10 minutes later with our breakfast (I'm sorry, but I said no bacon...my plate went back). Still no coffee! My plate returned and we ate before it got cold. After we finished our breakfast and complained (again)about not getting our coffee (or anything to drink.... not even water!), she informed us the coffee machine was broke! Really? To make matters worse, I was charged for the bacon I did not order and did not eat!! Will never return! The Cuban coffee we finally received was not good. All in all one of the most unpleasant dinning experiences I have ever had. read more

I was born and raised in Miami of strong Cuban decent. That being said, I think it goes without say that I know a thing or two of what authentic Cuban and Latin cuisine should be. Azucar on DP is on another level... As you walk into the restaurant you're somewhat transcended into another era of Cuban culture where tradition and pride are in perfect synchronicity. The service is warm, friendly, courteous and exceptional. Then comes the food...folks, I've had Cuban breakfasts in the best places in Miami and this place smokes them at a fraction of the cost. My partner and I were recommended this place 3 years ago when we were living in Ft. Myers Florida. Being somewhat nervous about a new place to eat, we nonetheless took the trip over to Cape Coral and were were ever glad we did! This has to be one of Cape Coral's best kept secrets!! Three years later we came down from Boston to visit friends, and on our last day visiting we took them out to Azucar for a nice meal. I am always nervous about taking someone out to a place to eat, especially 3 years after I had gone there for the first time. I can happily say that I was NOT at all disappointed in my decision. The food was as memorable and tasty as I remember, cooked perfectly, correctly seasoned, and a delight to eat. And my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. And to top it off, my partner asked the waiter (I think he's the owner too) for a tres leches dessert, and even though they had none available, he had the cook make one up on the spot! This act alone has sealed my loyalty to Azucar, I can't wait to try out their breakfast menu in the near future. They are open 7 am - 10 pm, and as mentioned, they serve breakfast also. read more

Ordered some takeout as I saw this place driving by. Talked to the owner who mentioned he left Cuba in 66 and hasn't been back. Had the chicken burrito but with rice instead. Meal was seasoned quite nicely and usually Cuban food is super duper bland! This had nice flavour and seasoning. Attached to the restaurant is a bakery. Most Cuban restos are restaurant/bakery combined! Lots of great selections and a nice Espresso machine that I'm sure makes a mean Cuban coffee! Prices are reasonable and I'd be looking forward to trying something else! read more

My boyfriend and I visited Azucar a couple days ago for breakfast. There were about 3 other tables occupied when we sat down to order. We ordered waters first. The waitress came back shortly to take our orders, with no waters. About 15 minutes went by before we received our water. My boyfriends meal came with a coffee, and he did not get it until he asked, and by that time (about 35 minutes after we were seated) our food and his coffee came out. The portions were very small, not bad taste though; nothing special. We were unsure why it took as long as it did to prepare such a basic meal, water, and one coffee. Will not return. read more

We have been going to Azucars for years, and the service has been going downhill. Servers do not stay long, many do not speak English. Order everything you need at the same time because you may not get another chance. Only one cup of weak America coffee with the special, two cups with other breakfasts and you're done!
